Brakes Failed Problems of Kia Motor Soul

Attempting to park: vehicle accelerated rapidly, brake failed to stop or do anything. Vehicle jumped over tire stop then 8" mall walkway hitting building and store window.

Brakes failed. Was pumping pedle, no brakes whatsoever and rearended driver infront of me airbags did not deploy.

While driving in regenerative brake mode and coming up to a stop light, I let the regenerative brake to slow the car to around 10 km/hr then applied the normal brake to slow down the rest of the way. The brake pedal did not engage whatsoever. I did not feel any resistance and the pedal went all the way to the ground. Because I couldn't stop, I hit the car in front of me - low speed so luckily no one was hurt. There were no warning lights about brake failure either before or after the incident occurred. Pedal was floored and there was no acceleration, only mild deceleration (I. E. Still from the regenerative brakes presumably) thus I am quite confident this was not a case of pedal misapplication.

The contact owns a 2015 kia Soul. The contact stated that the steering column, shifter, and brakes failed to operate. As a result, the vehicle was involved in a side impact collision. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and then to the dealer. A police report was filed. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v736000 (steering); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. There were two injuries that required medical attention. The contact suffered from a cervical strain and mild thoracic facial strain. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

When approaching an intersection, the brakes failed on my wife's 2015 kia Soul. She pressed the brake pedal several times, but they never pressurized. Fortunately the airbags worked well, and she was not seriously injured in the accident. The driver and passenger in the other vehicle left in an ambulance. I tested the brakes once the vehicle was at the body shop, and they did not pressurize there either. The car is 9 months old, had roughly 9,000 miles on it, and has not had any mechanical work performed on it.

4-8-10 aaa tells me the rear brakes are not engaging when they changed a flat tire. I took car to dealership to inspect brakes and patch tire. Dealership did no repairs. 4-26-10 2010 kia Soul se2, brakes failed to engage when car ahead stopped causing my car to rear end that car. Speed under 15 mph. $3000 damage to my car. Scratch to other car. 5-11-10 independent master mechanic inspected brakes and thinks they are defective and unable to be repaired. Advises lemon law application started.
