2025 kia Soul lx headlights. Totally inadequate standard headlights. Higher end models get led headlights but this standard light system on the lx is dangerous on anything but well lit streets. Safety should not be an option. I would have upgraded to a model that has adequate headlights but was unaware of how bad the standard headlights were until after purchase. These standard headlights should never have been approved by the dot. There are many reports online about this issue and I'm hoping it will be addressed soon.

I believe that I am needing the knock sensor detection system updated. I have called the dealer and they have stated that my VIN # does not have any recalls. I do have the mil malfunction indicator lamp currently on.

The 2013 kia Soul has been subject to recalls related to the gear shift, with some models potentially experiencing issues that could cause the vehicle to roll away due to a gear shift defect. Some 2013 kia Souls may have a gear shift defect that could cause the vehicle to roll away unexpectedly. An engine that is hesitating to accelerate is most likely dealing with a fuel/air mixture that is too lean. Engine's that are running inefficiently will begin to show signs like hesitation which will only become worse over time.

On November 29,2024 I found a paint bubble under the door handle of the rear passenger side of my snow pearl white kia Soul. The primer is visible underneath and intact but the area is cracking and peeling thereby enlarging quickly. I have read online that others have had this problem. The engine system in my 2025 kia Soul malfunctioned, as indicated by the activation of the p1326 warning light. This diagnostic code typically signals serious engine issues, such as potential rod-bearing damage. Despite this warning, the authorized dealership, jim bone kia of santa rosa, only replaced the knock sensor after I asked to conduct a bearing clearance test (bct), which they claimed passed. However, prior inspections had revealed metal debris in the oil, which strongly suggests internal engine damage. The failure to conduct a thorough investigation into the potential engine damage poses a significant safety risk, as the vehicle could experience a catastrophic engine failure while in operation. Such an event could endanger my safety and the safety of others on the road. The dealership has not reproduced or confirmed additional issues related to the p1326 code, claiming they require further symptoms (e. G. , audible engine noise or a repeat warning) to proceed with deeper diagnostics. This approach delays necessary repairs and leaves unresolved safety concerns. Additionally, the vehicle’s catalytic converter was initially denied warranty coverage, despite being included under an extended recall. This created confusion and delayed essential repairs. The p1326 warning light appeared before service, and the knock sensor was replaced, but no further proactive measures were taken to address the root cause. The vehicle remains at risk of more severe engine damage and safety hazards.

My kia 2019 Soul has been giving me several problems with the engine jerking and the light coming on and then goes off and then come on I had it diagnosed several times even when I first got it and they said it was nothing wrong but I can tell it was something wrong it just like revs up or jerk or have these issues when I drive like it didn't want to pull but I kept asking and asking is something wrong with this car when I purchase it at clay cooley in irving texas they told me no they checked it out gave me a rental now I just bought that car in may of 2021 and they told me it wasn't nothing wrong the person that had it before me only had it a year and I didn't get no report on it about it but I do think it had some engine issues but they didn't give me no history of it they just say you buy it as is but I kept telling him I did not like the way the car was driving I wanted to replace it they ignored me and my calls I wanted to replace the key now I heard it is 2024 the light is still on and everywhere I went they will change my transmission in 2022 now I just got the car 2021 of me and they were saying the transmission burnt out now how can a transmission burnt out when they supposed to have checked the car when I bought it in 21 I wanted to give up this car and I wanted to replace it they never did do that. Now here it is I'm suffering with oxygen sensor and they said the Cadillac converter which wasn't the Cadillac converter cuz they said this is a new car how can it be the Cadillac converter I told him I think it was the sensor everybody saw on the cold day was not the oxygen sensor now here it is it's very bad where now I'm having issues also they was I had it checked another time where the man said I was using a lot of oil and he said the oil must be leaking and he checking it wasn't now it seems like it's leaking oil because I keep have to use six quarts of oil every 2 to 3 days I'm using oil but I don't like this car never did I ain't had it that long and I.

My 2013 kia Soul 1. 6l is currently displaying a check engine light. My vehicle has very strong smelling exhaust, engine knocking, sluggish acceleration, and reduced fuel mileage. This has been going on for about a year. I have a diagnostic code reader and it returns the error code p0420, which indicates a faulty catalytic converter, which could cause engine damage. There is a recall for the catalytic converter for my year and engine type. I received a letter in the mail regarding this recall. The link to the letter: https://static. Nhtsa. I have contacted my local kia dealership (johnson city kia) and they act like they have no idea what I am talking about. I have called kia customer care center and they refused to help, saying that the recalls are "VIN specific". That's ridiculous. If the recall covers my year make and model then the VIN shouldn't mean crap.

Purchased car on September 15 2024 less then a week later I tried o purchase sirius radio for car, however due to being a previous customer I didn’t get a fair enough price for purchase an decided against purchase all together. However due to linking my VIN number ( assuming) kia customer recall center contacted me the very next day called 3xs left me to vmail (still have all voice mails) as kia then continually called me and left me voice mails stating vehicle needed to be put in shop due to not safe to drive and I needed to get appointment immediately for recalls on said VIN! I called kia of wilmington and waited in there waiting room for said appointment for over 4hours. Not only did they lie an tell me I wasn’t in office for that long they forged my time in an out, on said one page non informed piece of paper non receipt stating I was only there for hour an half. When I literally got upset asking demanding for information on what was so dire about my car they told me OH it was nothing my car was just fine. I took there nonsense paper got in car and left. 4 days later my car literally went bonker the check engine started flashing car wouldn accelerate then as it started it made a loud pop/ snap sound then seized up locking up so hard it gave me whip lash and wouldn move another inch let alone provide sound as if car wasn’t still running. I pushed to my home less then 500feet away with help of neighbors whom plugged in my car to read the code which happened to be in direct connection to said recall supposedly checked replaced in no way fixed yet said so even though the car had no problems till kia messed with it now it’s completely broken an kia keeps hanging up on me and will not fix or even look at my vehicle I even pleaded I would pay them to fix it they won’t even contact me back. Purchased vehicle on 10/12/2024 was driving it home the car started knocking, and loosing acceleration on freeway. The car was smelling of very volatile gas fumes. I put some gas in car for the trip home . Drove about 15-18 miles had to pullover into the v shape of the merging section of a on ramp,. Could not make it to the emergency lane on the freeway. Used family members road side assistance to get car home, took it to the kia dealer (car pros moreno valley) towed to them because they said had to get a appt,. Which they set up for today 10/25/2024. The intake person was letting us know it was just a update as if the fuel leak and oil leak was not a part of the recall and it would cost us 9000-13,000 to fix the engine plus the diagnosis of 240. 00 getting the run around already for a dangerous situation. The car has caught fire for other owners, of the same year and make. The customer care person stated to me it is just a oil pan leak, as if the car is safe and anything else is our problem. I parked my car in the assigned parking spot. It was vandalized for theft at 5 pm by kia boys. Because it was a 2024 model, it was not a class vehicle that I could file a settlement claim. This is an ongoing issue, thieves are still going around looking for vulnerable vehicles to steal for joyride. It will cost 3500 to fix and many damaged owners like me don't even have any legal recourse to get the cost reimbursed.

My car has been at the kia service center since October 5, 2024, on a manufacturer recall, and since then another recall has been added, on the day the service center received my car I was number 11, in line with the recall vehicles, I have been put in hardship because kia has not honored the recall in ample time, lost of job opportunities , stress, getting back and forth with appointments, I strongly feel as though I have been discriminated against, I receive no updated status about my car, and strongly feel, that my recall is being tossed to the side, I have contacted the nhtsb about this matter, loss wages, loss job opportunities, and stress have been placed on me from the kia service center in trussville alabama, kia have failed to comply with the recall and have had ample time to remedies the problem.

We purchased this vehicle for our [xxx]. It was going to be his first vehicle, and we shined it up and changed the battery, detailed it, changed all spark plugs, the whole nine yards…so on his [xxx] we give it to him, and we take it for a test drive, and the engine seizes up and we have to tow it to our mechanic. He assesses the car, and its rod bearing wear that is under a class action lawsuit. After calling kia, they will not do anything about it because it has never had a specific software update that is under a product improvement action. A knock sensor detection that would detect prior to engine failure. I told kia that we looked up recalls on the vehicle and there was nothing regarding that on the search. From both their website, and NHTSA. And they said that it wasn’t their responsibility to do so. But it was their failed product and design, that put my child at risk, and we had no reasonable way of knowing about it. They said it wasn’t their responsibility. I don’t understand how a detection system of the engine failure, would be required after the failure? there’s no prevention aspect to the “product improvement”. At this point, it serves no purpose, the engine failed for that reason. And installing the software update prior to failure wouldn’t have changed anything. They have orchestrated a loophole to not be accountable for a design and product they out on the public market, which they received financial compensation for, that could have cost my child’s life. In fact, they won’t even pay to replace the deficient engine that broke because of their negligence in design and risk assessment. They are 100% unwilling to address the defective product they sold. My wife was driving the 2016 kia Soul ev and the car just shut itself off in the middle of the intersection. She was able to turn the car off and turn it back on, but nearly caused an accident. A few months later it did it again. After getting a new software update, I told kia about the vehicle shutting down, and they told me that if it happens again that we will need to bring it it. So we brought it in. We believe we were able to narrow down the cause to be related to regenerative breaking on a full battery. On newer ev models, when the battery is fully recharged, regenerative breaking is disabled to prevent overcharging the battery, I dont know what they do to these kias. When we brought it in they said it needed a new battery, but I am not sure if they are going to fix the vehicle shutdown issue. I think that the bms may be shutting the car down to prevent the vehicle from overcharging the battery when we are going down hills. I've got tired of kia and their lies. I read information about a battery recall, and they wouldn't recall the battery and replace it with the e400 battery. They said the battery was fine. They lied to me and my wife. The battery was proven recently to be defective and they were hoping the vehicle would make it past its warranty date so they wouldn't have to replace it. We took the vehicle to kia to replace the battery, and a couple of weeks later they were able to put a battery in it, then driving it home I was bombarded with warnings, and the vehicle power was reduced by 50%, I was afraid something would happen. The vehicle also would not charge. Kia techs came to our house and drove it back to the dealership, and it's been there ever since. They say the vehicle needs a new bms. I think this issue with the vehicle shutting down like this is highly dangerous and needs to be reported. It even happened once when I was in the vehicle at the middle of an intersection, which could have caused an accident! (29k miles).

On [xxx], we were driving on [xxx] from wisconsin into minnesota to park at msp airport. Near the state border, we began to hear a clunk sound in the steering column. We chose to park the car at a friend's home near the airport in her garage in case we needed service upon our return from texas where we travelling to. Prior to driving back to our home from minneapolis on [xxx] (1. 5 hours), we checked with our local mechanic to see if it were safe to drive. He could not diagnose over phone, but suggested coupling issue and that we drive carefully. We made it back home, took car to our local mechanic on 7 October, and thought it would be better to check dealership in eau claire, WI (another 30 minute drive). We drove there, slowly, on 18 October, and were told that it was probably the mdps/flexible coupling, but that it would cost us 175 to check, and another 250-300 to replace the 15. 00 part. We drove home and had a family emergency out of state and will return now to wisconsin soon and want to get this fixed as soon as possible. We understand now that this is a persistent problem for many kia 2013 Soul and other kias and that NHTSA has been supportive to some owners over this matter. We do not object to paying for the repair, but not at price-gouging levels. From what we understand, the inspection needed to check for the flex coupling is not difficult nor time consuming. We are afraid to drive the car for safety sake, but we need the car to drive! do we have any rights to a free inspection if this is a problem with many kias? there were no warning lights and no symptoms prior to the sudden noise and now there is a persistent and regular clunk when the steering wheel is moved. My 2019 kia Soul caught fire while I was driving it. I was driving and all of a sudden there was a light knocking sound in the engine. I was going up a slight hill and the knocking got super loud and then something went bang in the engine, the abs and engine lights started flashing and I pulled over. The lady who was traveling behind me, pulled in front of me, ran up to my door and yelled at me to get out and run away from the car as it was on fire. Within 30 seconds the car was completely engulfed. Total loss.

Multiple stations failed emission inspection in texas for fuel not completed and evap not completed. Tried multiple things to fix. Took it to shop that kept for days and diagnosed with logic lock with the ecm/ecu. Basically bad ecm which is common problem with kia Soul and there are recall for models older than 2016. Moritz kia kept for 17 days and said they could not figure out issue but ordered new ecm. I contacted dps and got steps to get waiver because it could take weeks to get part. Asked kia to inspect again since two failed inspections required for waiver. Some how it passed inspection with the same two not completed emissions. In texas vehicles newer than 2001 are allowed only one not ready. Kia said they would not replace ecm since it passed inspection. Appears they are trying to not fix known issue. Concern is if a real issue with car happens the ecm will not update with error since it has logic lock. There are lots of reports of issues with the ecm and kia not honoring warranty. The ecm is covered for 8 years 80k and the car has 7 years 70k now. It appears they are just trying to delay fixing issue. If battery is pulled, obd code reset, or ecm pulled out none of the codes reset like they should.

I have a 2018 kia Soul I have been having problems with my oil running low and my oil and engine light coming on after I have had an oil change this has been going on since 12/21:2023 inhace taken my car to the dealearship over and over only for them to tell me I don’t have oil leak they have done oil consumption test and still said nothing was wrong with the vehicle continued to take to get oil change and same thing has kept happening finally paid for diagnostic after months of being told my car was fine to find out the oil was leaking to my catalytic converter now my catalytic converter has gone out on my 2018 kia Soul and dealership quoted me a $5400 repair price I have 2 warranty and none cover exhaust repair kia has given me the run around and also said my car wasn’t under recall but I am experiencing all the recall symptoms related to the 2018 kia Soul base mode 1. 6 engine.

Got off of hwy traveling at 70 mph came to stoplight. Vehicle stalled. Noticed smoke, then flames. Within 2 minutes the entire engine compartment was engulfed in flames.

Please see the attached statement for a more detailed explanation. To summarize, kia will not perform a recall to repair the knock sensor in my 2014 kia Soul. The reason provided was that my engine needs to be replaced first. However, this recall calls for engine replacement if kia is unable to perform the repair. The issues I am having with my engine are symptoms of a faulty knock sensor, which is the recall kia will not repair.

My car kept on breaking down and it happened twice. When I contacted the kia customer service, they told me the wait time until I can get the car ready is about 2 months and until then im gonna have to either rent a car that they would pay $44 for, which is clearly not enough. I need to get to places, job and school. How am I supposed to afford for this or do anything about it. I want my car fixed and its also covered under the warranty since I bought it in 2021.

Purchased 6-22-24 fire happened 8-14-24 at approximately 11pm, with approximately 2691 miles, fire started in engine compartment, car burned to ground, nothing left, approximately 2691 miles on vehicle. I was lucky to get out alive, I had to kick the doors open.

The contact owns a 2013 kia Soul. The contact stated that after driving the vehicle, thirty minutes later, the vehicle was parked in the driveway unattended and caught fire. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was burned from the engine to the door panel. There were no reported injuries, air bag deployment or police report. The fire department extinguished the fire. The contact stated that the failure was due to NHTSA campaign number: 23v652000  (service brakes, hydraulic,). The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

My vehicle showed a code for the catalytic converter and while driving the vehicle it started revving up really high and then smoke came out the back and it started knocking. I had to pull over on the interstate and have my car towed back to my residence with aaa which cost $490. Went to kia to speak with them about the recall and they said they would not fix it because it was not a recall recognized in their system. But there are other recalls in their system they will fix those. My vehicle is undrivable. It's sitting in my driveway and I don't have the ability to just purchase a new vehicle. This is leaving me stranded with no ability to even get to work without having to get a ride.

P0420 code indicated during emissions test. Vehicle shut off after stopping and acceleration after stopping. Hesitates when trying to restart vehicle. Contact kia manufacturer about engine and p0420 code, however no help was given.

Unknown. Kia dealership in edmond oklahoma is refusing to do the recalls on my 2014 kia Soul because the engine has a knock in it which I believe to be from one of the recalls with the engine. Kia manufacturer said that they couldn't do anything about the dealership not fixing the recalls and to take it to another dealership.

To whom it may concern, I need a recall letter send to me to get my 2012 kia Soul repaired. My catalytic converter needs to be replace, and my engine is leaking oil and that will need to be replace, and the pillars on the front of my car, on the right & left side, needs to be replace, they flew off my car while I was driving on [xxx]. I looked up the information on the computer, that the vehicle emission warranty extends beyond the manufacturer's. Along with others emission control devices, federal law requires to replace a defective catalytic converter & engine for up to 15 years or 150,000 miles, the miles on my car is 128, 684. I took my vehicle to get check by brake world , on [xxx] they said I needed a crankshaft position sensor & a new catalytic converter. I have the printed out receipt from brake world. I did get my crankshaft position sensor replace with a shop call economical auto care llc. Do I get a refund for that, the price was 182. 73, I got it done on [xxx}, I do have my receipt for that. I did take my vehicle to kia auto on 735 south military trial #c, west palm beach, FL 33415, on [xxx]. I had a recall letter for the hecu, and the dealer al told me I needed my catalytic converter replace, but he did not put it on the receipt when I pick my car up & he did not let me know it was a recall on it, until I looked it up. My car was making a loud knocking noise & would cut off when I stopped at a red light and I had to keep on starting my car up every time and my vehicle would jerked and shake and the engine light comes on. So when I got the catalytic converter sensor on it, the loud knocking noise stop, but the engine light stills comes on. But I still needs the catalytic converter replace on my car. I purchased this 2016 kia Soul from a dealership in April, 2024. On Sunday, June 16, 2024, I was driving on a residential street when I heard an explosion. Smoke poured from the back of the car and from under the hood. I tried to stop, but the brakes failed. I put the car in park, but it would not stop. I finally put the emergency brake on and it stopped. By this time, the car was basically a fireball. I had to get out by stepping through fire. I inhaled smoke from the burning and melting elements of the vehicle. The fire department arrived quickly, but it took 10-15 minutes to put the fire out. I have since learned that kia knew of the problem and there was a class action suit against them, which it is too late for me to file a claim on. As a 71-year-old, I am very concerned about the situation. My insurance payout won't be enough to replace the car and I am unable to secure a loan.
