~ the headlights flicker off or turn off while stopped or driving. Wiggling the multifunction switch will usually bring the lights back on temporarily. This is a known issue with the contacts in the multifunction switch. Kia has issued a warranty extension for this issue for my2014 and prior, but has not issued a warranty extension for my2015 even though this is the same issue.

My headlights have starting to flicker off while driving at night (on highway, street, turning, etc). I am able to get them back on by turning the switch back and forth several times. The car dealership replaced the headlight bulbs, but problem still remains. Though there is a known issue with the kia Soul headlights (and kia has extended the warranty to include the headlights for some and has a service bulletin out for it), kia refuses to cover my particular vehicle, though 2015 is one of the years covered (I can only assume there is something different).
Headlights go out while driving at night. First noticed around August 22, 2019, but we rarely drive at night. Blink off and then back on. Not connected with any driving conditions like bumps or turns. Happens on interstate at interstate speed and two lane back roads at low speeds. Happens in stop and go traffic. Dash lights stay on. Happens on low or high beams. Unknown if driving lights are affected. Local repair shop diagnosed and could not determine problem or reproduce (invoice included). Lights have not stayed off long enough to stop and examine vehicle. Lights have not stayed off long enough to even try to turn off and back on. Have tried turning on lights and then moving the switch to see if lights would go off but have not been able to reproduce the effect.

Headlight can flicker or go out completely when switching hi/low beam or using turn signals. Sometimes they blink briefly, other times they go out completely until you play with the multifunction switch more. . Read more...
For the past three months I've been having issues with the headlights and bright lights on my 2014 kia Soul. I have been experiencing the lights flickering and sporadically turning on and off until recently where they will not come on at all. I have been researching how I can fix this issue by going to kia dealerships, and looking online for a solution. I have come across several youtube videos as well as online help suggesting that it is a known issue with this car. It is said to be an issue with the switch and/or the connector that causes the problem. I've changed the bulb as well as the fuse with the same issue. I'm getting tickets due to this being an issue that is not an easy fix. It's scary to drive distances with children in the vehicle and not knowing if the lights will turn on or off.
When the multi-function switch controlling the headlamps is in automatic mode, the headlamps will switch off unexpectedly. This sometimes happen when turning on a blinker while turning, but sometimes just driving down the road. This is extremely dangerous, I have been driving at night or in the early morning hours on multiple occasions, and the lights go off leaving me driving blind for several moments on the road. The list of bad things the could happen is endless: hit a pedestrian or cyclist on the side of the road; have someone pull out not seeing me coming, veer or brake unexpectedly due the shock of the lights going off, you name it. Kia appears to have issues a service bulletin on the topic concerning defective lighting connections, but, the dealership I called seemed unaware of it. Multiple posts on line show the same or similar issues with the vehicle and several state kia will not issue a recall and will only pay for a bulletin item if the vehicle is still in warranty, which mine is not. This is a highly unsafe situation and should be subject to a recall to be paid by the manufacturer. . Read more...
Driver side headlight only works at random times, it will come on and a few seconds later it goes out. Most times it doesn't work at all. Last week I had a new switch installed that was on an extended warranty, the light worked for one (1) day and was out again yet I was told the switch was bad that they removed. Happens when moving or stationary, leaving driveway. If the vehicle sets a while sometimes it will come on and stay on most times it just doesn't work. I consider this a safety issue because I don't know when the other headlight will go out. This has been going on since Aug. 2018. I replace the bulb and it works for 3 months then starts over again working randomly.
The headlights on my 2014 kia Soul started to flicker as well as the internal lights at the same time on the dashboard (speed, etc. ). I normally keep the headlight setting on auto and I have had this vehicle for a little over 4 years never had an issue until now. I am paying to get the switch replaced in hopes it will resolve this issue, but it is dangerous problem because the headlights no longer just flicker they will go completely out some times which can be scary while driving at night.
While driving my kia Soul my headlights will switch completely off and it has became very dangerous especially when I am driving on dark back roads. I notice it happens when I put my signal light on and turn it seems that this may be a trigger to the malfunction. I have seen that other kia Soul owners have been experiencing this same malfunction and I wonder why it has not been a recall. The lights will sometimes pop right back on but last night it blinked out for a minute and I had to put the high beam on. But all last night the high been seemed to not want to work so now it is dangerous to drive at night time.
One the headlights started out as just flickering, it would turn off for 2 seconds but will come back on as I'm driving. Then after about a week, it would be a while and I have to turn my lights off then turn it back on to get it to work again. But these past few days, it would not turn on at all even after flipping the switch on-off. I drive home late from night class and I'm afraid the other headlight is on its way out too.
