Humidity gets insiste headlights. This issue affects headlights performance making hard to see at night. Safety is at risk.

Headlights when on dim are inadequate. You can not see the road. You can not drive with your lights on bright in traffic. Severe hazard to all. Near miss on animals and road damage. Very frightening.

When using the blinker, the headlights turn off completely or temporarily. I’ve seen this as a normal thing on reddit and other sites.

My headlights turn off when I use my blinkers. They also flicker sometimes.

When I signal a lane change, the lights flicker or turn off completely. Happens often.

Less than 24 hours after being purchased as a kia factory certified pre-owned vehicle my daughter was driving. While driving headlights, wipers, and dash lights went out including infotainment/carplay map display on a rainy day. California requires headlights be on when wipers are used. Occurred while doing approximately 25 mph after going over a speed bump. When stopped and key was turned to acc, they came back on. Issue did not return when vehicle was started again. Dealer has said they can find not fault. We have located threads for this issue with other kia models on [xxx] . One common factor is they are key start, not push start models. My 2017 kia Soul failed while going 70 on the highway, almost completely lost power. Pull over to the side of the road to check the issue. Checked the oil, and it was down to less than a quart. There was no indicator light to bring attention to this issue. Brought it into the dealership after returning home. The Soul was completely unsafe to drive due to engine knocks. Despite letting the dealership know of the oil lamp issue, they are still refusing to do anything about this issue, even charging me six thousand to only fix the symptoms. I wasn’t the only person to experience this issue, moving me to make this complaint. In summary: oil was low due to oil burning, the Soul never indicated as such, no oil pressure, completely lost power at accelerated speeds, and now the bearings in the motor are destroyed with no help from kia company. Contact the kia dealership in boardman for more information in regards to a detailed list of part failures in regards to the Soul.

Headlights are not bright enough. In areas with no street lights it’s like driving with candles. The light is yellow and dim. This is a new car.

For the 4th time in a year, my headlights automatically turned on while vehicle was parked. I have the headlights set to turn on/off when vehicle is started or shut off. I do not have a dlr options to set the lights to. All four times the vehicle started and I have no idea how long lights were off. Two of the 4 times, I noticed they were on in the middle of the night. The other two times, the neighbor texted me during the day, while vehicle had been parked, for hours and or a few days, and said I should check my lights and when I did, they were on. I rarely drive at night and have read some owners of a kia Soul have experienced their headlights automatically turning off without notice while driving at night. I am sure most people would not notice or have a clue that there headlights turned off during the daytime by their selves, I know I wouldn't especially since the lights seem to turn on/off by themselves without any notice.

The contact owns a 2015 kia Soul. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the driver's side headlight became inoperable and while using the turn signal, the driver's side headlight would shut off. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 110,000.

The contact owns a 2021 kia Soul. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, he became aware that the headlamps were not functioning properly. The exterior lighting warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that a short in the electrical system resulted in exterior lights burning out and identified burned wiring. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 13,000.

Drivers side back brake light kept going out and now sometimes the whole tail light goes out.

I am experiencing the same headlight problem as has been reported for 2014-15 kia Souls. Mine is a 2016 kia Soul. The headlights go out intermittently when turning a corner or when signalling for a turn. I had it diagnosed at my dealership and they stated it was the multi-function switch that was mentioned as a recall for 2014-2015 Souls on your webpage. The dealership said there is no recall and kia corporate says the same thing, but the NHTSA states there is a recall and describes the exact problem right down to the multi-function switch the dealership told me was bad.

The contact was able to pull over, and the headlights return to operation but were flickering. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the connectors had melted and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA id number: 10170778 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

Since September 2015 the car headlamps malfunctioned. I made several trips to the dealer and was told they are not able to duplicate my complaint. Presently while driving the headlights will go off and by bumping the multi-function light switch, they would come back on. Please see attached letter & service detail that was sent to kia without resolution.

I would like to report that my 93,632 2015 kia Soul headlights flicker. The headlights (both) even go out for seconds and then they come back at the same time. It's an electrical issue, not a matter of changing the bulbs. I contacted Kia Motors to report this and check if there are recalls or extended warranty on this issue and they said no. There are plenty of other users on online forums reporting this same issue. Maybe it's time to investigate if this is a defect since from what other users described, is the same situation as with my own car headlights. Sounds very dangerous having a vehicle losing the headlights suddenly on a highway, I spoke with 2 csr from kia on 6/7/23 regarding the headlights and none of them were interested in this specific matter.

The brake lights go out all the time. They work one day and then not the next. This is a known issue with kia vehicles. Apparently this is a wide spread issue that effects many kia brand cars not just the Soul model that I drive. I have people stop me saying they did not see my brake lights come on at all when I obviously had to. Why hasn't this been a recall? this is a problem that could end in fatalities.

The headlights will turn off and on randomly without warning. My driving panel shows no indicator or warning lights. This is an ongoing and extremely dangerous issue. I’m told it will be very expensive to diagnose and repair due to the need to remove the entire steering section to access the headlight control wand.

My vehicle is almost un-drivable at night due to a terrible headlight bean pattern. See attached image. I have taken to two different kia dealerships with no results and reached out to kia. Last night was the first time I drove it in the dark while it was raining. The headlights absolutely suck!!! I’ve had daytime running lights that were brighter! I’ve had 6 volt headlights that were brighter! I probably have flashlights that are brighter! it’s seriously dangerous, in my humble opinion. There were times where the painted road stripes were worn down, no street lights, and I was literally driving blind. I was worried about driving off the road, or into oncoming traffic, as I could not see the road ahead of me. I will not drive this vehicle at night again. It's not safe. No one from the dealership or manufacturer has inspected my car. I assume all of the 2023 Soul trim levels are the same. The headlight system is a new design for the 2023 model year.

Headlights flicker off and sometimes just for a second, sometimes stay off and will usually come back on if I turn them off and on again. But then it happens again. I took it to my mechanic who could not figure it out. Couldn't afford to do much so I have not been able to drive at night for a year as it's very dangerous. I called kia and since my car is out of warranty and apparently no sort of recall for this (despite me seeing lots of complaints with the same issue) I can't afford to do anything. I'm beyond upset. I love the car otherwise. Date below is when it started, but it is anytime it's driven.

My engine is burning oil on the pistons and does not retain oil. I am having to top the engine oil off every 10-14 days. I went in to repair the catalytic converter, but I was told by the dealership that if I repair the converter, because I have a bad engine, it would be useless. The first warning sign was an h2o engine error that remains. My safety with a bad engine is put at risk with every drive. The problem has been occurring for over a year, and in addition, the brake lights in the front of the vehicle does not work, although it has been diagnosed.

Headlights turn off after using the turn signal switch. Started happening once in a while but now it happens not only after using the turn signal switch but the headlights will turn off for a few seconds and then turn back on. Other times they will just flicker for several seconds. This is a serious safety issue. The headlights turning off or flashing at night is not a safe way of driving. There are many reported cases of this issue on the kia owners portal so they can't say they didn't hear about it. I would think I could take it into kia to have them replace the turn signal switch since that is the only thing that makes sense. And I can recreate the issue by wiggling the switch. (this is not related to the light sensor since I do not have automatic headlights. ) why hasn't there been a safety recall issued??? this has been happening for over a year and I just try to drive only during the day until kia is forced to fix the problem. That is no longer possible as I am now working nights. What are my options to have this resolved without costing me any money??? please have someone reach out to me at steveserrao59@gmail. My headlights flicker or shut off intermittently when driving at night. Sometimes it seems to be associated with using my turn signal. Sometimes it seems to be associated with going from dim to bright headlights. I took my car to the dealer who said that kia has an extended warranty to cover this repair. But when the dealer's service department could not reproduce the situation in the shop, then said kia would not pay for the repair. I contacted kia consumer affairs and was given a case number (14989817). After two weeks I finally was contacted and the policy was repeated by kia. I explained that the problem was intermittent but they would not do anything on their end because the dealer could not diagnose the issue in shop.

Driver's side headlight flickering on and off at times. Inspected wiring and it looks like the harness socket is burning out. It looks like this is a common problem with this car and can prove to be a safety issue if your lights go out while driving.

I have been having major battery issues switching out my batteries and them going out fast. Also when I'm driving my car shakes when it goes above 60 miles per hour, also when I change gears I noticed I get a hard thump when I change my gears. The electrical in the car sometimes it goes off and on my radio has completely went out it comes on when it wants. Cruise control when I put it on sometimes just cuts off when I'm driving. Engine runs kind of rough when I first got my car everything was smooth but after 6 years I noticed everything started running the little rough.

2014 kia Soul: noticed some pretty dim headlights. In checking them out the lens over the headlight has orange peal cracking. On the inside. Took it to kia dealer where I bought it with a 10 year bumper to bumper insurance policy. They told me it is not covered. To go ahead and call myself and find out. Still waiting for an answer. This is a definite safety issue. I only have 35,112 miles on it. Not happy. . .

Low-beams will not turn on in any position, while the high-beams continue to function. I was able to use the high-beams to get me home but not having access to low-beams is dangerous.

My dash lights would flash bright and dim randomly while driving at first. A few weeks later my headlights would flicker from high beam to low beam and dash lights would still flicker. Now about a month into this my headlights still flicker but they have even turned off all while driving and I was told my brake lights go off as well ,dash lights still flicker and my a/c will not work/blow randomly so it seems to be involving electrical .

The lights flickered and I lost both head lights. Head light bulbs keep going out randomly. Sometimes both at the same time. I have replaced them 4 times this year.

4 times within 16 months, my passenger side headlamps low and high beam burned out with a melted headlamp connector plug. My 2015 kia Soul was purchased in June 2016 and now has less than 38,000 miles. I have seen that there was previously (2016) a safety recall sc149 halogen headlamp low beam connector for 2015 kia Soul but danbury connecticut kia dealership denies this. I am concerned about a fire as well as cost of repairing this dangerous defect. Grace otoole.
