Transmission Gear Slipping Problems of Kia Motor Spectra

My mother bought this car brand new couple years back. Haven't had any problems till now. On my way to work im going around a curve and transmission went out. Thought for a second I accidentally put it in neutral. My transmission never slipped, shifted hard or any other signs of problems. This is crazy, not sure yet if kia is covering they promised warranty. . I really hope so. .

The contact owns a 2004 kia Spectra. While driving 50 mph, the engine revved when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The failure occurred four times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they were unable to find a defect. The failure mileage was 36,000 and current mileage was 40,000. Updated 5/30/08 the consumer stated the transmission slips from a stop it feels as though it is in neutral. Updated 05/30/08.

The consumer stated that her transmission seemed to be slipping. She had taken the vehicle to dealership three times to be examined. The dealership could not find the cause of the problem. The consumer stated that the problem occurred between 20-40 mph. This was an intermittent problem but occurred more frequently. When this happened the consumer had to pull the vehicle over and place the vehicle in park then back to drive. Even though there was a temporary fix, the vehicle was still hard to pull over when in traffic. The consumer had been in contact with kia, and they took her information and had the dealership call her back. When the consumer was at the dealer, they simply examined the vehicle, then gave it back to the consumer and told her that there was nothing they can find that is wrong. The dealership made the uncomfortable when they treated her like she made up the problem. The consumer is considered applying for the lemon law in her state. (12/08/05) the rpms would increase but the vehicle would not go faster. Kia replaced the computer board in relation to the transmission. Updated 1/25/2006 -.

The contact stated when stopping at a stop sign or while braking or pulling into a parking lot vehicle revved and lurched forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealership numerous times. They were unable to duplicate the problem. Updated 1/11/2006 - the transmission line had come off and cause coolant to leak. The line was repair and transmission was flushed but transmission slipped. The transmission was replaced. The check engine light illuminated three times and the dealer replaced the throttle position sensor three times. The engine light illuminated again and this time the dealer replaced the gene pulse assembly. The engine control module was reprogrammed. The engine ran rough intermittently. The dealer replaced the idle speed actuator.

Transmission module on original transmission failed causing transmission damage, local dealership replaced. Second transmission blew a front pump seal within approximately 1000 miles while on our vacation/honeymoon. Third transmission replaced while on vacation out of state. Current (third) transmission is still slipping. Have not sought out service for this failure yet as we do not trust the dealerships in our area. We have written kia certified mail over a month ago to be reimbursed for excess expenses incurred due to these mechanical failures and travel interuption monies under their warranty, but to date have not received a response.

Engine check light came on, but was not flashing. Felt like gears were slipping. Took vehicle to dealer, and they stated it was transmission failure. Please provide any further information.
