Additionally, while driving on the interstate on two separate occasions, rocks struck the front windshield and caused chips in the windshield. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the windshield was thin and there was no recall for the failure. The dealer informed the contact that the glass needed to be replaced and recalibrated. The contact called two other dealers in texas and retrieved similar information. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 42.

The windsheild easily cracks. Less than 1000 miles and it cracked.

Car was traveling down the road at 45 miles an hour. The windshield cracked under normal driving conditions. Living in iowa this would fall under the class action.

3 days after receipt of my brand new 2022 kia Telluride I noticed a crack in the top of my winshield. After inspecting there was no visible chip and it started right at the top of the glass. A month the crack took over almost my entire windshield. Disappointed in the quality is an understatement.

My 13 year old son went to smack a bug off the windshield in the inside and it shattered.

Returning from a trip, driving through the mountains, I heard a noise on the passenger side window. The next day I noticed a chip spidering. This should not be.

Chip in front windshield due to a rock quickly became an 12 inch crack.

The car is one week old and developed a crack in the windshield overnight in mild weather. The crack is over two feet long and growing.

Windshield cracked and quickly spread with no sound or impact. Inspection at dealership reveals a tiny chip along the crack that the dealership says indicates and impact. Windshield seems very fragile as I have had other cars that have suffered more serious impact and not had major cracking issues. Also windshield replacement cost is very high as the dealership claims they need to recalibrate the camera that is use for lane keep assist. The previous years also had windshield issues that were covered by warranty.

The windshield on my vehicle chips and crack easily. It is a common problem among other kia Tellurides as well.

Windshield cracked while driving starting at drivers side edge under trim propagating left to right across half the windshield. There was no impact from an object; simply stress crack. This has been shown to dealer and confirmed by the glass shop they use as “no impact” crack. It affects safety because it is directly in drivers vision and is blinding when the sun reflects and refracts through the crack. No action taken by dealer to replace the windshield. Seems clear that this is a defect.

This incident has happened twice in a short matter of time. While driving a small rock hit the windshield, and then the windshield cracked immediately. This seems to be a major complaint from many owners and I know it was an issue for 2019 and 2020. There are now two cracks spanning across the windshield that obstruct a clear view. This is a major safety issue and it is difficult to get a windshield due to supply issues.

I have replaced the windshield twice. A small pebble hit it in both incidents. It went from an invisible nick to cracks over 1 foot in length after driving no more than 5 miles to my destination. The cracks continued to grow to about 2 feet in length overnight. Kia sent me a letter which I did not realize until a few months after the first replacement acknowledging there was an issue and was gracious enough to reimburse me for the first one. I assumed they also fixed the manufacturing process of the windshields as well but ended up with the same issue with the first replacement. I find this to be a safety issue outside of the inconvenience and the second one I did not get reimbursed for. The structural integrity of the windshield is immediately compromised. You are not given a chance to get off the road before something worst could occur like the windshield fully shattering. The other concern is the windshield does not appear to be structurally sound enough to take on the other safety features it is to provide like holding the airbag in place when it is deployed or helping to prevent the roof from caving in during a rollover. I hope you do not wait to force a recall after someone is seriously injured or a death occurs as a result.
