We were driving in the left hand lane on i75 south about 15 miles south of [xxx] and about 10 miles from [xxx] . We were traveling about 75 mph with air conditioning on low. We heard a loud bang and pulled off at exit 328 to investigate. We pulled over at myers carpet on dug gap road. We looked at the sunroof and it looked like it had exploded upward. 1/3 of the glass was gone and a cone like upward shattering appears in the edges of the blowout area. We had to go to the nearby tractor supply to find duct tape and plastic sheeting to tape over the whole sunroof to drive home to [xxx] . It just happened on 3/15/2026 at approximately 4pm. We have not yet been to a kia dealer or called consumer affairs at kia corporate yet. I am filing a ticket with kia now. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Windshield spontaneously cracked. I know it was spontaneous because the car was parked and I was near it for the full hour, nothing hit the windshield and when I got back in the car the windshield was cracked.

While driving on the highway under normal conditions (clear weather, no nearby vehicles within approximately 1,000 feet), I heard a sudden loud “bang,” immediately followed by a large crack forming across the windshield. There was no visible debris impact, and no external cause could be identified at the time. Based on similar reports involving this issue in other vehicles, this appears to be a potential structural or manufacturing defect rather than road damage. While using adaptive cruise control in clear weather and with no traffic present, the vehicle will randomly decelerate as if detecting a vehicle ahead when none exists. This results in sudden, unnecessary braking without warning or indication. The issue has occurred multiple times and creates a significant safety risk, particularly at highway speeds where unexpected deceleration could lead to a rear-end collision.

After a long winter in northern illinois, we had a 70’ afternoon and I tried to open my sunroof and it stopped working. I heard a crunching sound and tried to reverse it and that may have made it worse. It had been working fine in the fall months September and October when I last used it. It did not cause a safety issue. No one was at risk. I’ve taken the car to the closest kia dealer to me . Castle kia in mchenry IL. The kia dealer gave me an estimate on cost . There was no warning signs of it being broken until it actually happened.
The windshield cracked for no apparent reason. The crack was on the driver's side, about 16 inches long, starting near the top and curving around the driver's view to the middle of the windshield.
I’m writing to report an ongoing issue with my vehicle’s windshield washer system. The washer fluid is not dispensing properly, and as a result, the windshield is not being cleared effectively while driving. This creates a safety concern, especially in poor weather conditions or when road debris accumulates on the windshield. The reduced visibility makes it difficult to drive safely and confidently. I have already taken the vehicle in for service regarding this issue. However, I was informed that nothing is wrong with the system and that it is performing the same as a new vehicle. Despite this, the washer fluid output still appears insufficient and continues to create visibility concerns while driving.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned? the windshield wiper system failed. The design of the cowl area (under the hood) allows snow and sleet to accumulate and become compacted. This creates a physical obstruction that prevents the wiper linkage from moving, leading to total wiper failure. • availability: the system is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was safety put at risk? safety was compromised due to a sudden loss of visibility during inclement weather. The inability to clear snow and sleet from the windshield while driving created a blind operating environment, significantly increasing the risk of a crash or striking an unseen hazard. 3. Has the problem been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealership or independent service center. 4. Has the vehicle been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance? no. The vehicle and its components have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives at this time. 5. Were there any warning lamps or symptoms prior to the failure? no. There were no warning lamps, error messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The wipers stopped functioning only once the snow had compacted sufficiently under the hood to block the mechanism.
There were two very loud cracking noises. Nothing had hit the car at all. The following day a crack emerged on the windshield. There’s no point of impact and the glass is smooth but the crack is now 1/3 of the windshield. I took it to the dealership where I bought it last month. They initially lied to me and stated they had never heard of a class action about defective windshields but later said that it was only the 2020 models for 6months and all is fixed. Online people are complaining about cracks emerging in their 2024/2025 Telluride on the windshields or the moon roofs randomly shattering.
We were driving on interstate at 70 mph. It was sunny and 45 degrees outside. Suddenly with no warning, our front sunroof glass exploded. The bang was so loud that my ear was ringing hours after. Fortunately no car was following closely so no other vehicle was hit with flying debris. Also, our interior visor was closed so we were not struck by any of the flying glass. We pulled off and removed any loose glass that could fly off and proceeded to the dealership. They were submitting warranty information, etc. And provided a rental while we await the repairs. They did mention they had seen this before in a case where the visor was not closed and glass poured into the cabin and implied that it was a worse case than ours.

I had noticed a 1" wide crack had formed in the center of the windshield after first night of cold weather (~10°f). There was no prior damage to the windshield before the crack formed. I'm concerned that the crack will continue to spread as we progress into the winter in the upper midwest, ultimately shattering while I'm driving.
The front windshield cracked without any impact. We drove from arizona to California and nothing hit our windshield or vehicle. We parked our vehicle and a visible spot and can see our vehicle at all times and we walked out and our windshield was cracked down the middle all the way into the driver side. It was not drivable back home to arizona.
I activated the windshield wipers and noticed no fluid spraying from the nozzles. Upon checking the washer fluid reservoir under the hood, it was nearly empty despite being refilled just two days prior. There were no visible external spills, but I discovered a significant puddle of washer fluid accumulating behind the front-right wheel well liner, indicating an internal leak. Further inspection (guided by online owner forums reporting the same issue) revealed that the ribbed plastic section of the windshield washer hose—specifically at the connection point near the firewall—had cracked and separated. This hose runs as a single assembly from the reservoir, through the engine bay, to both front and rear nozzles. The crack appears to be a manufacturing defect in the brittle plastic material, which is prone to fracturing under normal temperature fluctuations or minor vibrations, rather than wear from high mileage. The failure eliminates the ability to clear the windshield of rain, bugs, or debris, creating a hazardous blind spot and directly contributing to reduced visibility.
Failed windshield available for inspection unexpectedly cracked across full length of windshield blocking view of road causes glare there is a 2020 model class action suit and many complaints.
Windshield cracked for no reason. Developed a crack from the edge to the center of the windshield about 2 ft long.
The vehicle’s windshield was hit by road debri/gravel while driving on a paved freeway. The impact caused the windshield to shatter at the impact site and crack about 1/2 of the way across the windshield. I had the windshield replaced with an original kia windshield at safelite autoglass. Three months later another tiny piece of road debri/gravel hit the new windshield while driving on the paved freeway. The impact also caused a localized shatter at the impact site with a crack 1/3 of the way across the windshield. These were the only two times the vehicle was hit by road debris. Over the last 10 years my other cars have been hit by road debris 20 times and this shattering of the windshield has never occurred with any other vehicle. I am concerned about the safety and integrity of the windshield.
My windshield had a light crack and it ran pretty easily. It should not have done this so quickly. The crack should have been isolated and given me time to get it repaired before I have to replace the whole windshield. I can feel the break. I wouldn't think with a laminated windshield that all us cars are required to have, that I could actually feel the sharpness of the broken glass.
I was driving on the freeway and the windshield spontaneously cracked. There were no cars even around me. My 2025 Telluride is brand new and has less than 5k miles on it….
On Thursday, June 5, 2025, I discovered a 2-inch crack at the bottom center of my windshield after my vehicle had been parked in my garage for three consecutive days without being driven. There was no known impact or external force that could have caused the crack. The vehicle remained stationary and protected from environmental elements during this time. On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, I drove the vehicle to a glass repair company at the request of the dealership. While en route, I observed the crack rapidly expand from 2 inches to over 12 inches in length, extending upward and curving toward the driver’s side view area. The glass company inspected the windshield and confirmed there was no evidence of impact damage (e. G. , from a rock or debris). Safety risk: the expanding crack compromised the structural integrity of the windshield and obstructed the driver’s field of vision, posing a potential safety hazard. A weakened windshield may also reduce the effectiveness of airbag deployment and roof support in the event of a collision. Inspection and confirmation: the issue was evaluated by an independent glass repair company, which confirmed the absence of any impact damage. The dealership referred me to this inspection. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle directly. Availability for inspection: yes, the cracked windshield is still available for inspection upon request. Warning signs or symptoms prior to failure: there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the appearance of the crack. The crack was first noticed after the vehicle had been parked and unused for several days.
As I was driving on the interstate, a small pebble hit the corner of my windshield (lower left corner on the driver side). It made a small chip that has quickly turned into a 3" crack. Upon inspection by a windshield repair company, it has been deemed unrepairable and the entire windshield must be replaced due to the location of the incident. I also have a small chip directly in the driver's line of sight in the windshield from the pebble as well. Kia motors has a known issue on previous year (2020-2023) models of the Telluride, in which the windshields of these models chipped and cracked unusually easy (sometimes without anything even impacting it), clearly causing a safety issue. There was a class action lawsuit for many states. I now have to file a claim with my car insurance company to have it replaced, which will negatively impact all my future insurance rates.
Sun roof opened and will not close. Wind detector became stuck causing window not to close.

While parked windshield started cracking from front left corner every few hours I go out to check it and the crack has spread halfway across windshield.
We are replacing a second windshield in less than 2 years. Small pebbles start a chip, and the window companies try to fill the chip, but it cracks anyway. In both instances, the crack spanned from one side toward the top and affected my line of sight. The glass companies say they fix a lot of these cars. I'm afraid to go through the car wash with the high speed dryers for fear that the windshields strength is compromised and something can happen. Kind of makes my car wash membership useless. . . . . . That's over $2000 for 2 windshields and even then I have no guarantee that it will last. I'm seriously thinking of selling it as soon as I get it fixed. I'll definitely check the newer models to see if they are still having a problem. Maybe they can do us a favor and at least manufacture a better quality window for our next installation?.
The sunroof spontaneously exploded while I was driving my kids to practice. Luckily we had the sunshade closed, so that prevented us from getting covered in glass. I have found several claims online from other kia Telluride owners experiencing this same issue. There were no prior issues or warnings.
Windshield developed a multipronged crack that does not resemble a normal road hazard crack. After having tried a mobile windshield repair, the results are not successful as the cracks seem segmented and will not accept normal repair. Files include a photo of outside and inside vehicle pic of windshield.
Windshield made a popping noise while stopped at a signal light and a crack began to spread from the bottom left side of the drivers side, up the middle of the glass towards the passenger side. There are two cracks forming,.
It took 8 months to repair the recall #sc299b halogen headlamp-both. Repair was done 04/03/2025, which appears to have not last long as high beam is low again and I am afraid to drive in early morning, dusk, or evening due to the timid, low bearing high beams. This is very unsettling as we have made three complaints due to negligence and lack of efficiency for recall repair, being in an accident due to not seeing a deer run across and we hit it, as well as, failed state inspection due to light issues (twice) that negatively impacted financial stability and job security as one driver has to have a clear safety inspection in order to work. Kia corporate has been contacted 6 times via email and called back to discuss ongoing issues, however, there does not appear to be any resolution and/or willingness to discuss ongoing issues with our car. It would be nice to discuss this matter and find a solution that alleviates hardship this recall (and apparent lack of fix as lights continue to be an issue) and kia dealer/company has made. We would appreciate being bought out and/or provided reimbursements and buyout. Either way, we hope others do not face the ongoing stress and issues Telluride has given us. It is not ideal or fair to continue being fearful of the safety and reliability of our car despite company’s “attempt” of fixing it.
I was driving my 2022 kia Telluride and my windshield crack, on the road and the crackline still running across my windshield. I think is dangerous to drive, but I don't if kia will replace or do I need to pay my self.
During normal driving conditions, the windshield started cracking halfway up the drivers side horizontally. The crack begins from the edge under the trim and goes almost halfway across. The windshield does not appear to have been damaged in any way and no impacts from rocks. I saw the crack start from the outer edge and travel across the windshield as I was driving. The vehicle is kept in a garage. I contacted the dealer and they told me to contact kia customer service which I am doing later today. This certainly appears to be a defect and is a safety hazard as the glass cracked without any direct cause. The vehicle is available for inspection.
I just recently bought a 2025 kia Telluride. Within two weeks the windshield has cracked. It appears to be a chip but it seemed to happen while sitting in the driveway. Kia says it is not covered u see the warranty. With all of the issues I have read about kia’s windshields cracking, I am afraid they have not fixed the issue.
Windshield suddenly has crack along mid passenger side.
After diving in the snow my 2025 Telluride was parked in the garage overnight. Next morning I observed a crack in the windshield running from bottom of passenger side to middle of the windscreen. Upon inspection saw a small chip on the windshield. A chip would not cause the crack to extend to the middle of the windshield. These windshields are made very poorly, can crack and break with minor road debris that other brands windshields can handle easily. This has been an ongoing problem with kia windshields since atleast 2020 and still has not been resolved. Won't be surprised if they break with a bug splatter on the windshield. This needs to be a class action or a recall!!!!!.
A rock (a small one) was kicked up on my window by a passenger truck that was traveling in front of me that was going on to the shoulder of the road to make a turn into a parking lot. I went into the store and came back outside to see that a crack formed in my window. I continued on my way to work, worked my 12 hour shift and then came outside to a bigger crack in my window. While I was driving home from work the following morning the crack actively spread further in a u shape while I was driving down the highway. In no way should a small rock hit my windshield and in less than 15 minutes a crack appears that only gets bigger and eventually spreads across the entire windshield in less than 24 hours. I've never in my life seen something like this. I've driven cars for years with a chip in the windshield that never progressed or if it did progress it was a minimal crack, nothing at all like this. This is insanity. It makes me question the safety of the windshield in general. Is the glass going to break while I'm driving down the highway?.
Found crack in windshield while parked in garage, approximately 8 inches long on passenger side about 6" up from bottom of glass starting at the a pillar. Crack doubled in size by following day. There was no impact, it just cracked in a single line horizontal to the middle of the glass.
The contact owns a 2025 kia Telluride. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph in the snow, the windshield wipers were activated to clear the snow, but failed to consistently wipe the windshield. The wipers were intermittently operating. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed because the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure persisted. The vehicle was taken a third time to the dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the ring sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The ring sensor was replaced; however, the next day, during a rainstorm, the wipers failed to operate while activated. The failure reoccurred several days later while driving approximately 40 mph. The vehicle was returned to the dealer for a fourth time, but the vehicle had not been repaired. The vehicle remained at the dealer for a month. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 25.
Description of the problem: I noticed a crack suddenly appearing on my car’s windshield without any external impact, such as a rock or debris. The crack seems to have formed spontaneously, starting from the bottom edge and growing through the center of the glass, and there are no visible signs of external damage or impact points. This raises concerns about the quality or structural integrity of the windshield. It started early in the morning at about 6 inches but now has more than 12 inches and two ramifications. The car was parked in front of our garage and there were no extreme temperature changes. Concerns: I am worried that the windshield may have a manufacturing defect or material issue that could compromise the safety of the vehicle. This could pose a risk if the crack spreads or the windshield fails under stress.
