While driving down the street, the transmission seemed to slip. I scheduled a service appointment with the dealer whom stated that the car could still be used. As time went by, the failure became worse, up to the point that you could not depend on the transmission to work safely. We decided to park the car and wait for the day of service. The car was taken in and the transmission was deemed to have failed. The torque converter and all gear clutches had failed. The transmission was replaced. The repair shop did admit that Land Rover was aware of defective units, but did not make this public. The repair house was supposed to confirm off the old transmission that it was from the bad set and this was the case. Our transmission was replaced.
