The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Es350. The contact was driving approximately 20 mph when the speed increased to 80 mph. The brakes were engaged and failed to slow down or stop the vehicle; therefore, continuous pressure was applied to the brake pedal which traveled to the floor. Suddenly, the vehicle decelerated from 60 mph to 80 mph. The vehicle was able to slow down after excessive force was applied to the brake pedal. The engine was turned off with the remote starter and came to a complete stop. Smoke was also coming from the brakes. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for inspection.
