Body Problems of Lexus IS - part 2

The dashboard and center console Is melting, leaving a sticky & shiny surface making it hazardous to drive the vehicle. A warranty campaign was Issued for several other Lexus models to address this very Issue, however, the 2003 Is300 was excluded. Lexus could not provide a reason as to why this exact defect was not addressed for the 2003 Is300 model, since they addressed the very same Issue with an older 2003 gx470 model. My vehicle has been garage kept and extremely well maintained, so sun exposure was minimal and still experiencing the same Issue as thousands of others that have complained. This hazardous defect has hindered me from driving my vehicle in fear of leaving it in the sun to further deteriorate causing more damage and rendering the vehicle undrivable.

Dash Is melting and coming off creating a shiny surface.

Melting dashboard reflect sunlight on windshield which Is blinding at times. Also melting doors stain and ruin clothes. Vsc sensors also stay on even after dealership "repair" they recommend replacing transmission @$5k but no guarantee problem will be solved.

After spending lots of money on Lexus I didn't expect for it to be melting. The whole dashboard and side panels are turning sticky and melting. When I touch it my fingers turn black and sticky. Its also hard to see when the sun shines directly on the car because the dash reflects the sun from the windshield.

When I touched the dashboard it was melting. Also any little touch to door panels marks it. Pieces are falling off as well every time I get into the car. It's ridiculous it's a Lexus! please help.

This Is in regards to my 2008 Lexus Is 250 interior panels sticking/melting with poor appearance and its deteriorating which can affect my safety as it will reduce my driving visibility. I have visited the following dealerships: Lexus of north miami, jm Lexus and Lexus of west kendall. On many occasions, I have pointed out the problems with my dashboard and side doors to several different service advisors. I mentioned the Issues I had with my dashboard and door but they all just blew it off and stated that there was no problem with it. They all said it was just basic normal wear and tear due to the florida heat. The areas that are affected are the dashboard, driver and passenger side door panels and rear door panels. It Is sticky, melting, degrading, leaves prints on your hands and fingers when touched. In addition, it leaves a black residue on your clothes when you accidently bump into it. I know that Lexus Is a brand that prides itself on ¿pursuit of perfection� but I don¿t see that pride from any of the dealerships to resolve this Issue. It¿s absurd how the service advisor can tell me it¿s due to the florida¿s heat and also the basic wear and tear as I have an older model Honda accord and the dashboard and door panels are not deteriorating. I purchased a Lexus (is250) because I loved the style and its reliability. My car still has its shine and does not have any major dents. I take pride in taking care of my investment. The exterior Is in immaculate condition and so Is the interior except for the deteriorating dashboard panels and doors. I would understand there would be basic wear and tear if my car was older than 10 years, but we are talking about a luxury car which should be using top quality material. In addition, the Issue started 2. 5 years after I purchased it new, which all the dealerships disregarded my complaints.

The dashboard on my Lexus Is 300 Is melting. It Is very sticky and as it heats up a chemical Is released and there Is an odor in the car. I called Lexus and they said that the recall does not effect the year of my vehicle, but it Is very clear that this car has a serious Issue. All Is300 regardless of year with this Issue must be recalled.

It has severe deterioration on the inside door and cab panels caused by a material used by Lexus that under extreme heat waves like the one's we experienced in south florida, makes the surface of this material soft to the touch, rubbery typed, staining anything it comes in contact with.
