Lexus IS250 owners have reported 53 problems related to body (under the structure category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Takata recall plus the interior dash and interior side door panels are deteriorating. The front dash has an oily slick residue which glares into the front windshield making it dangerous to operate. The dealership stated that I am on the list as #139 and they've replaced 20 to date. This has been a known problem for years. At this rate and if history repeats itself neither will be remedied in my lifetime.

Received "warranty enhancement notification - zld" from Lexus in late 2014. It offered replacement dash and door panels due to sticky and melting. My dash has melted so badly it shines in my eyes like a mirror. So far I have brought car to dealer 2 times, called 6 times and still no parts in stock to repair problem. Lexus corp. Says dealer has not ordered parts and dealer says parts out of stock.
Melted interior, sticky and easily breakable dashboard due to heat and humidity, cracked interior.
Interior panels are melting away, leaving a very sticky residue. My door panels have melted down revealing a green like substance, I no longer have black door panels. Took it to see what I could do, only to be told I would have to replace my door panels. I don't think it's something I should have to pay for considering this is a manufacturing problem, that should have been tested before every leaving the factory. . Therefore I do believe it should be a recall on the fact it's a defective product, not so much a hazard, but a defective product that should be recalled. The material can not withstand high temperature,or high humidity causing it to be defective. What I would really like to know is what type of material is used to make this rubbery product, because if its melting away in high temperature the chemicals from that material could be hazardous to breathe in and can lead to certain cancers, asthma or respiratory problems if inhaled: which would then be considered hazardous to our health if exposed to it, and since we are in the vehicle I guess we would be exposed to it. So! if anyone has the answer to my question I would like to know. Ty.
In June of 2013 I began to notice that both my dash and my front door panels were sticky and were beginning to melt. Upon bringing my car into the Lexus dealership my service adviser took photos of the affected areas and submitted them to corporate for goodwill warranty. The end result is that I would have to pay for the service to have both my door panels and dash to be replaced. To me, this seems ridiculous. Lexus has acknowledged that this is a known defect with the material that was used on the dash, yet I should have to pay over $1000 to have the repairs completed? I opted to not get the repairs completed since I was planning to trade the car in at the end of this year for a newer model. To date the problem has gotten much worse; there are now chunks (!!) of door panel missing on both sides from my fingernails (which aren't excessively long) hitting them while I enter/exit the vehicle. Additionally, my dash is horrendous looking and is starting to have a bad glare against the windshield as the melting progresses. While this may just be "cosmetic" to some, it isn't at all what I paid for!! nor is it safe to drive a vehicle with a unnecessary and unsafe reflective glare that is being caused by cheap materials being used. To me, it seems like a manufacturers defect that should be covered under the manufacturers warranty, and furthermore at no cost to the consumer. I didn't spend $30,000 on a vehicle so that they interior could melt in the sun. I live in florida and our summer temperatures are close to 100 degrees most days. I have never seen this happen to any of the other 7 vehicles I have owed, which makes it absurd that is occurring on my so-called "luxury" vehicle.

The failure mileage was 85,000. Ap.
7/11/16 seminole, florida the dashboard over the instrument panel and the front and rear side door panels are melting, cracking and deteriorating which causes dents in the material to the touch. All of the material is discolored and sticky or melting. Sticky stuff gets on my clothes. Lexus is a luxury car and this is not normal. This needs to be replaced immediately and a recall needs to be dictated by the nhts ASAP. This is unacceptable and this is why the NHTSA needs to demand Lexus initiates a official recall for the affected vehicles with the melting dashboard and side door panel issues.

The dash and upper door panels started to get soft, sticky and started to melt with touch.
I purchased a brand new 2007 Lexus is 250 from park place Lexus in grapevine, TX. About two years ago, the dashboard panel started to get very soft and gummy during hot days. Small pieces of the dashboard panel came off easily. Ever since, the dashboard panel has been getting sticky and melting. The melting dashboard panel causes a glare reflection on the windshield that prevents the driver from being able to see road clearly while driving. It's a dangerous situation. Lexus has refused to replace the defective dashboard panel even though they're fully aware of the issue.
The car makes a lot of creaking noises and has been tried to be fixed several times and never gets the problem solved. Now car creaks and rattles at 10 mph. Sound coming from the a-pillar and warranty does not cover.

The technician was unable to determine what was causing the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 37,000 and the current mileage was 100,000. Updated 7/7/cn updated 07/14/2014.
The contact owns a 2008 Lexus Is250. The contact stated that the dashboard started melting and became sticky. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician declined to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Lexus is 250. While driving various speeds, the vehicle hesitated when the accelerator pedal was depressed from a stop position. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with carbon build up. There was no repair solution. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer several years later and the motor was rebuilt. The vehicle had several top carbon clean outs, but the issue persisted. The contact also stated that the dashboard and the inner door panels were melting. The failures made it difficult to see out the widow due to a glare coming through the windshield. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v340000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.
Both door panels on my 2006 Lexus is 250 are melting and producing the stick sticky black tar looking stuff I guess it's from melting and the odor from that is sometimes so strong when I'm on long rides that it may gives me headaches my daughter has burnt her arm because the door panels are so hot to touch and melting and this is usually all year round because of the sun hitting it.
: the contact discovered on a sunny day in March, while washing the vehicle, there were white spots covering the entire vehicle including the headlight covers and windshield. Upon inspection, by the dealer, it was determined the windshield, head light covers and all exterior windows needed to be replaced. All exterior panels need to be ground down to the metal and a corrosive protector has to be applied before the vehicle is repainted. The dealer felt a corrosive road material may have caused the problem, although the vehicle has never been driven in such conditions.
