Engine Cooling System Problems of Lexus RX350

Lexus RX350 owners have reported 3 problems related to engine cooling system (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2010 Lexus RX350

Failure Date: 05/28/2019

Oil cooling line blew out! all oil blew out of engine within minutes. I was stopped immediately with engine warning and had to have emergency tow. The redesigned part was ordered from Lexus at a cost plus shipping of $90. The total repair was $170. This is a faulty part with rubber line that has since been redesigned all metal--no rubber. Lexus has acknowledged the design flaw but no recall.

3 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2007 Lexus RX350

Failure Date: 07/05/2018

The oil cooling line in my well maintained 2007 RX 350 blew apart without warning, causing all oil to be lost from the engine and catastrophic engine damage totaling thousands of dollars were it to be repaired. This is apparently a very common, well known issue in the 2007 era RX 350 due to Lexus' choice to use a rubber cooling line. This occurred with no warning whatsoever.
