The contact owns a 2010 Lexus Rx350. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, she saw light white smoke floating through the air which she initially assumed came from the vehicle ahead of her. As she exited the highway and came to a stop, the low oil pressure warning light illuminated with an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. The contact pulled over and called her brother for assistance. Upon inspection, the contact's brother discovered that there was no oil in the vehicle, even though the vehicle had received an oil change five days prior. I tried accelerating on the highway (pch in santa monica, CA) while traveling forward at about 45-50 mph, but the vehicle hesitated. This is the forth time there has been a hesitation in acceleration since owning the car, but this time there was a message on my dash. The message stated that there was "an obstruction with the pedal and acceleration was retarded. " I later looked down at the pedals felt around the them, but found nothing obstructing. At the time, the vehicle had less than a quarter tank of gas but not low enough for the low fuel warning to come on. After driving about 15 more miles - the low fuel warning came on. I have always put premium fuel in the vehicle and my wife doesn't put gas in the vehicle. A recall was recently performed pertaining to the fuel pump at the dealer - pertaining to low.

The push-button (keyless entry) ignition did not kill the motor. My car engine ran from approximately 6 p. M. In an enclosed garage directly below my bedroom. At 4:30 a. M. I was awakened by my carbon monoxide detector. The entire house was filled with toxic fumes. First responders to my 911 call said the detector definitely saved my life. I was a little dizzy and had a headache but was ok after awhile. It took nearly 3 hours for the first responders' co2 monitor to show safe air throughout my house. I have since learned that many people have died or suffered brain damage under the same circumstances, and dozens of people have told me that they experienced similar failures to shut down the engine. Fortunately, their cars were not in garages when it happened to them.
Tl the contact owns a 2019 Lexus Rx350. While driving with the adaptive cruise control activated and set at 72 mph, the driver reduced the speed to approximately 60 mph when switching lanes. After releasing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle continued to accelerate past the set cruise control speed of 72 mph and continued to accelerate to approximately 80 mph. After deactivating the cruise control feature, the vehicle continued to accelerate and the rpms increased before the speed eventually was reduced. The cause of the failure was not determined. Lexus escondido (1205 auto park way, escondido, CA) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. Prior to the failure, the vehicle hesitated while accelerating and was serviced. The same Lexus dealer reprogrammed/flashed the transmission, but the failures continued. The failure mileage was 2,800.
I am the original owner of a 2013 Lexus Rx350. On August 14, 2019 as I was parking my car and rolling into a parking spot, with my foot only on the brake pedal, the engine revved and the car accelerated forward. The car hit a curb and gave me the time to react and applied enough brake pressure to stop the vehicle before it went into the street into oncoming traffic. The next day I brought the car into my local Lexus dealership. They had the car for the entire day and could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. On August 17, 2019, the exact same thing happened as I was again rolling into a parking spot. Again with my foot only on the brake pedal, the engine revved and the car accelerated forward. This time I was not able to react quick enough as the car hit a concrete pole at the front of the parking spot. I had the car towed to the Lexus dealership. Over the next 30-45 days an independent engineer removed the event data recorder (edr)from the car and sent it to Toyota for analysis. On oct 3, 2019 Toyota responded that based on their findings of the edr the vehicle is not defective. In my own search of the internet, I found numerous incidents on unintended acceleration for the same year, make and model as my car. I have sent letters to the ceo of Toyota and Lexus but as of this date, oct 15, 2019 neither Toyota nor Lexus has acknowledged or admitted that anything is defective with the vehicle.

In motion. I repeatedly asked for the paperwork stating the full vehicle inspections completed and my contract but firsttx Honda sales refused. Responded but alerted the sales rep after going in person for the paperwork. Inspection paperwork to match their word. From my research this common issue has been ongoing for years back prior to my purchase in Nov 2017. Over a week ago the car suddenly splashed massive oil everywhere while driving long distance (have pic). Spoke with Lexus austin dealership service dept and immediately they knew the issue but referred me to corporate office. Recall dept also immediately identified the problem and advised me to seek mechanic. Because the warranty enhancement vzl for free repair by Lexus expired Feb 2019 this year. Therefore, it's no longer their responsibility to repair this ongoing common problem with Lexus RX 350 Lexus I'm stranded plus, I have a finance CA that will also negatively affect my credit rating due to this ongoing common problem Lexus and first TX Honda fail to own responsibility. The car cannot be driven at all due to life threatening,. Yet somehow, I'm placed in the position to pay repairs (with money I don't have) finance note for Lexus and/or wherever else erroneous behalf. It's not my fault this problem occurred after the Feb 2019 expiration date for Lexus to take full responsibility and repair. However n website:https://cars. Usnews. Com/cars-trucks/Lexus/RX-350/owners stating, Lexus is also offering free replacement of the variable valve timing (vvt-I) oil supply hose for 2007 through 2009 models until December 2021. Although Lexus is unaware and still refuse to take responsibility of this issue. There needs to be some type of manually override to repair this ongoing Lexus for free. Plus reimbursed tow fees, any other costs pertaining to this issue, etc. Latasha 512-412-5380.

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Lexus Rx350. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, noticed smoke emerging from the engine compartment. No warning indicators illuminated. The fire department extinguished the fire. The police was also present. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a third party company evaluated it, they diagnostic was unknown cause for the fire. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 129,000. Bp.
During driving in the highway suddenly the whole vehicle is shaking and reduced speed suddenly; all kind of engine warning lights are turned on as have to pull aside on the highway. Have to tow the car to the dealership and found that cylinder valve spring inside the engine has broken as the car only has about 65000 miles. This causing vehicle to misfire and vehicle is shaking. There are multiple recall of Lexus model on valve spring and this obviously seems an manufacturer defect.
Oil started spewing from underneath the car while it was in motion on a highway . The car was towed to a local shop and the oil coolant lines (black rubber hoses) were replaced with metal hoses.

I just bought car and 5 days later the oil cooler line failed and I lost all oil. If this was handled as a recall (I searched for recalls before purchasing car) it probably would have been taken care of already, at the very least I would have known to get it done. Lexus extended warranty is 150,000 miles unfortunately mine has 152,400, so they are denying coverage.
Hesitation upon acceleration. The engine does not respond in a linear manner when pressing the gas pedal.
This car experienced an unintended acceleration at the top of my driveway while being put into park. The car took off and hit the center posts of the two car garage and only stopped because it was caught on the supports in the foundation. We had experienced this sudden unintended acceleration several times during the first year we own the car when we were getting onto the highway. We did report it when we brought the car in for a service, they were aware of the complaint but at that time there was no remedy for the computer slash transmission issue. I was parking the car at the top of the driveway, my foot was going on to the break and the car unintentionally accelerated and flew through the air into the center post of a 2 car garage. I luckily was not physically injured but was emotionally distraught. It took down both garage doors and the center pillar all of which had to be rebuilt and replaced.

First problem with electrical was when the navigation screen went completely blank while driving during broad daylight. Don't know the date of this incident. Thought it was a reboot by enform. Thought nothing about it. On 12/21/2017, check electric brake warning light came on when I started my car in the morning after it had been sitting all night. Took into the dealer. Dealer could not find any problem with it or any error codes indicating any problem. They reset the error light. On 4/23/2018, I stopped for a stop sign at about 12:30 pm, nothing happened when I tried to accelerate at which point I noticed I had no lights on anywhere on my car. It was dead. I was stuck in the middle of the road and was unable start it after a couple of tries. Called for emergency service, let Lexus dealer know my car was going to be towed to them, and sat for about 15 minutes when a gentleman came along before emergency service rep got there. He was able to start the vehicle. Took to dealer and was told after 4 days that they could not recreate the problem. Am now driving it, but afraid something else may happen.
The contact owns a 2017 Lexus Rx350. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to hesitate while the accelerator pedal was depressed. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was taken to another dealer (bell Lexus north scottsdale, 18555 n. Scottsdale, scottsdale, az 85255) where it was diagnosed that the computer software needed to be updated. The contact took the vehicle back to the unknown local dealer and was informed that the failure could not be repaired. The vehicle was being serviced as a lemon law vehicle. The manufacturer was notified and confirmed the information provided by the dealer. The failure could not be remedied. The failure mileage was approximately 4,500.
12/7/2017 I pulled into my driveway to park at 1 pm. I slowed down I had my foot on the brake, I was putting it into the park position when the car lunged forward and and put a hole in the garage door and knocked it off track. I was stunned & surprised. My husband and I could not duplicate this action. On 12/14/17 I pulled into the parking lot at foy park in burbank CA. I slowly pulled into a parking space ,my foot was on the brake as I put the car into the park position the engine revved and the car took off over a cement parking block and over the curb, went through a chain link fence and landed in the brush with 3 wheels off the ground and the engine was still racing with my foot on the brake. On 12/15/17 the day after I drove into my driveway about 2 pm. My foot was on the brake I put it into park and it did the same damn thing and 5 feet my friend elisa tunchez witnessed it. That was it for me I had it towed to keyes Lexus Toyota and never drove it again. Keyes said they could find nothing wrong with it and I know from checking on line with my friend stephen changary that other people have had the same problem in the u. S. I am deeply worried that this car will be sold again and someone will be injured or killed. There are 64437 miles on the odometer when traded in. Please help !! I was the only person injured, suffering back and neck injures and I am still being treated I'm a little afraid of driving any car at this point but I will work through it. .
Auto accident / other driver fault- 20 + miles per hour in motion front end collision/ impact . Frame damage to both sides of SUV. Total 3 passengers. No airbags deployed on front driver. No airbags deployed at all.
In order to start the car, the brake must be pressed. However, if the car sits without use for several days, the brake pedal cannot be pressed down and the car will not start. A warning light indicates that "brake power is low, stop in a safe place". Attached is a picture of the warning light. The car can generally be subsequently started by either waiting several minutes or exerting a lot of pressure on the brake pedal, and the warning light disappears. I've had many conversations with Lexus service and Lexus corporate office. They've said that this condition exists with "every 2016-2018 RX 350" and is not unique to my car. They've also said this condition cannot be repaired, despite the fact that the warning light indicates it is dangerous to drive the car. Lexus confirmed that despite the fact the condition occurs after the car has sat for a period of time, it is not a battery issue and likely occurs because of pressure lost in the brake system. Although I question Lexus' statements that this condition exists with every car, it is disconcerting that they cannot or will not fix a condition that may be dangerous to continue driving, as indicated by the car's warning light. This condition occurs regularly.
Takata recall. Started car in the morning drove it to work didn't smell anything it was about 34miles all highway. Parked the car ( the car was not in motion at the time)went out in 15 min and the whole front end was on fire. Called fire department by the time they got here it was to late. This was on private property con edison of new york. The car only had 32,000 mile and was only maintained by Lexus all servive records they have now its going to cost me 18,0000 for upgrade or another car when this car was in mint condition don't have any repair records they were stored in the car. Lexus has all the car records. The car went in December for state inspection and oil change nothing was brought to our attention.
While slowly pulling into parking space in the parking lot of the local post office, with foot on brake pedal car quickly accelerated forward with engine reaving. Car shot forward going over concrete car stops toward a creek and smashed into a stand of trees. Driver airbags deployed. Complete front of vehicle including hood and windshield were smashed and driven into engine compartment. I believe this is a case of unintended acceleration caused by the vehicle malfunctioning. There have been multiple documented complaints of this happening in Lexus RX 350 vehicles. The floor mat was securely in place and had not moved and the driver insists her foot was on the brake petal at all times. There were no obstructions in or around the accelerator petal or the brake. Paramedics were called to scene and a police report was filed.
When accelerating hear a loud groaning noise and feel a hesitation in the gas accelerator pedal. Have brought to the dealer 3 times, as it seems to be getting worse. Dealer acknowledges their is an issue, but says will not fix because their is no recall. They said will notify us if/when Lexus has a remedy. Apparently this is happening on 2016 & 2017 models. I am worried that my car is just going to lose power when accelerating as it seems to be getting worse and louder groaning noise. This happens first thing in the morning when the car is cold and accelerating between 0 to 20 mph.
Car is unsafe as you never know how it will react when you press the gas pedal. Often times you press it to accelerate a little and it's like you let off the gas entirely. You then have to aggressively press the pedal down to which it reacts wildly. Sometimes you barely touch the pedal and it takes off but most times you get little to no response. Acceleration does not react linear in conjunction with the gas pedal. This issue only exists as the car learns your driving. Car drives fine when this learning is cleared from computer memory. Lexus says this is normal but how can rolling out into traffic and waiting to get hit be normal? they won't release or update the programming because this would then affect the mpg number they are claiming. To be clear, gently start to pull out to merge into traffic, press gas pedal to get out of the way of cars coming at you and no reaction from car. Big dead spot in the pedal range . Now cars are closing in so you have to stomp the gas to save yourself. Happens continuous once car learns your driving. This is all in the normal mode default settings for powertrain.
Air bag failure light on, air conditioning does not work, broken or cracked board almost everywhere, air conditioning does not work, maintenance light always on despite mechanical overhaul.
While driving on city street in madison WI,severe oil loss due to hose to oil cooler. Part was changed by manufacturer from rubber hose to metal. This tells me they know it is a problem. Dealership in madison WI says they get this repair weekly.

Please see the attached better business bureau complaint. We are making this complaint in order to do our part of alerting you that there could be a potential hazard with the make and model of this car. We do not want what happened to us to happen to anyone else. The car was on a highway in motion when this happened. Thank you.
I purchased a used 2007 Lexus RX 350 from carmax in September of 2014. The car has been at the Lexus dealership 4 times already for rattle in back of car, ignition switch replacement, oxygen sensor replacement and 80,000 mile service. This month (August 2016) the care began to make a rattle just after starting the engine. Upon contacting my local Lexus dealership, I was told that the sound I am hearing is the vvt gear which will need replacing. The estimate given to me was $4k. What makes this even more interesting is that my husband owns a 2009 Toyota highlander. His vehicle makes the exact same noise upon starting the engine. He too was told that he needed the vvt gear replaced for a cost of $6k which was only the labor portion. After reading complaints with the 2007 Lexus RX 350 and knowing that Lexus issued a recall on certain 2008 Lexus models for this very issue tells me that a new recall should be made before someone is injured or death occurs. Very disappointed in Lexus.
On Feb 9 2016 a rodent had chew the wires inside my engine which the battery/check engine and the all wheel traction light came on. So I drove it to the dealer ship in tacoma fife of wa. So my insurance company told them to replace the whole engine main wiring harness for a total cost of $5372. 38. Everything was good to go, then on 9 April 2016 my check engine and awd drive traction light came on. So I took it to the dealer again, but while driving on the highway I heard chimes going off then all of a sudden it loss acceleration power and loss speed quickly. I was able to manuever off safely to the side out of traffic and down an exit to a complete stop. I turn off the vehicle and started it back on. Then I was able to drive it with a wing on a prayer and made it to the dealer shop safely im glad that I did without getting into an accident. I was told by that dealer that diagnostics found inconsistency report from there computer findings and was told the service manager will keep it to drive it for a couple of days to make sure they can catch the problem. Right now im really concern for my safety, especially it is my wife's car, and if she was driving she would not know how to react in a situation like this. So bottom line im really concern of myself, wife and family safety and need to address this because it can happen again. Please advise on how to move forward. Safety has no quitting time, I bought a Lexus becuase of its high safety expectations, but it aint working for me.

"takata recall" there is some sound from the car when ever I turn on my air conditioner and when I filed a case they are saying its design characteristic, where as there is no such in their previous designs or other models and its very irritating and disturbing while driving the car which makes me to disturb a lot.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Lexus Rx350. My car caught fire on its own. I was awaken by the police who said that my parked car is on fire. The fire department and police confirmed that the fire started on its own from the engine and there is no larceny. They mentioned that there was a vehicle recall for the same problem and then I search online and found the recall. . Read more...
The "engine maintenance required" light will not reset anymore after an oil change. . . Even after you follow the steps in the users manual. It used to work because I've done it before. Now, no matter what I do, it won't reset.
