I reported the speedometer issue to Lexus chantilly, va when I drove on highway from va to in, the Lexus speedometer shows 83, and my waze shows 75. Its 8 mph difference. I also have noticed of the mph difference between 6 to 8 mph. Lexus said, I required to pay for the repair, when this speedometer is defected by Lexus design. It has do nothing with personal wear, etc. I drove other Honda pilot, and the speedometer showed correctly against the traffic pattern, and waze app, but the 2016 Lexus doesnt show the correct based on traffic flow, and waze app. The travel from leesburg, va to indiaopolis, in should be 547, but ended at 601 miles. Im ok if its just few miles differences, but 50 miles per every 500 miles is huge, 5% error. I think its because of speedometer and impact error actual miles. I went to Lexus chantilly, va to perform recall for other thing, door handle, but they said, wont look at speedometer issue, unless I pay for it. Then I called Lexus corporation to open the case, and the Lexus case manager wont honor or fix my issue. This is serious safety issue, and should be covered by Lexus due to their defective issue. I have 4 photos to attach. . Can you assist me to contact Lexus to fix based on photos. Thank you. . . I can be reached via bizcham@gmail. Com - cham leang.

On a recent 2500 mile trip on 3 separate occasions while on interstate hiways and passing a vehicle the emergency braking system engaged automatically with warning lights and buzzers going off. This occurred with no other vehicles anywhere around for a quarter mile or more. On one occasion it occurred while driving in the right lane and with no vehicles in sight. Lexus special tech inspected the vehicle and had some calibrations performed but they will not tell me what they found in data captured by the vehicle computer or what actions they took and why they think the vehicle is safe to drive.
On April 15 2020, was entering a parking space in front of a sprouts supermarket at 12500 westheimer rd. , houston, texas 77077. The Lexus Rx350 (2018) failed to stop and crashed into a large building support column which did serious damage to the Lexus and to the column. This is an expensive car and came equipped with the emergency crash system. This feature did not work to stop the car from hitting the building. In the past it has stopped the car but only most often it does not work. . . No one was injured nor were any people on the parking area affected.

My farm is 1/2 mile off weld county road 16 in keenesburg colorado. There is a gravel drive around the house to a short concrete driveway in front of the garage. When we drive onto the concrete portion, we are angled north east toward the garage door and have to back up a short distance to head the car east to enter the garage. We drive very slow through the yard as we have animals to watch out for and make a slow entry towards the concrete driveway. As she turned around the house toward the driveway the car seemed to be going faster than normal and she took her foot off the accelerator and eased on the brake but the car did not slow and she felt the accelerator was pulling her forward faster than she wanted. The brake pedal did not slow the car. The car angled across the concrete driveway, narrowly missing the corner of the garage and struck a tree on the north side of the house. The impact did not deploy the air bag and my wife had no injury. Her seat belt was fastened until she shut the car off and exited the car. I notified usaa my insurer and later spoke to several mechanics about repairs and the problem my wife encountered just prior to the accident. One mechanic told me of a report of a situation much like this and said to call Lexus and see if there had been a recall on this make of automobile. I called a Lexus dealer in firestone colorado. I gave the VIN number to him and he said his records showed this model year had been recalled for a problem with the accelerator but no records showed repairs were made. I told him I purchased this 2010 model car in 2016 as a used car and had no way of knowing if there had been a recall. I have not taken the car to be repaired but an adjuster did make a report yesterday (Thursday June 6). I have no results but the adjuster said the damage was extensive and he was a bit surprised the airbag did not deploy.

The car abruptly jerks forwards or slows down when switching gears. There is a knocking sound when you accelerate. The rpm increase to 6k-7k before the next gear is engaged and then car abruptly thrusts forward. The car accelerates and decelerates randomly. This car cannot be driven safely in this condition. The car only have 1116 miles and is a 2019 model.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Lexus Rx350. While the contact's spouse was pulling into a parking space at 5 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle accelerated. The engine revved and the contact drove over a snow mound before crashing into a wall. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to bergstrom Lexus of appleton (3060 n victory ln, appleton, WI 54913, (920) 471-1895) where a third party specialist was sent to examine the vehicle. The findings would be reported to the contact at a later date. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the crash was in relation to NHTSA campaign number: 12v3005000 (vehicle speed control). The failure mileage was 115,000.
When stepping on the gas petal one of three things happen. 1. Normal acceleration which you expect after 60 years of driving and which we obtain from a 2014 Lexus Rx350 that we own. 2. Hesitation of between 1 and 5 seconds before acceleration begins. 3 excessive acceleration ( surg of acceleration much more than expected). This excess acceleration may happen after the hesitation or there could be "normal" acceleration after the hesitation and happens when accelerating after being stopped. . The hesitation and excess acceleration can be from a stopped position ie stop sign or traffic light or while moving and normal speeds. There seems to be a consistent hesitation at the 60 to 65 mph when attempting to accelerate on highway. At 70 mph everything seems to work as expected. The surging and hesitating seems to be at lower speeds and and when making turns in city streets and moving up or down hills and in parking lots when moving out of parking spaces, but it happens at all speeds up to 65 mph. The cars has accelerated with out depressing the accelerator - this could have been a delayed acceleration after pressing the accelerator a half block before. This happened with a Lexus representative was in the car with me - I was driving so he could not tell if that actually happened or if I accelerated. Starting in early 2019 we have told Lexus when the car was serviced( twice yearly that the car behaved in this manner. Each time that have told us they did not re-create the described behavior and the car was performing as designed.
Often times I press the gas pedal to accelerate a little and it's like you let off the gas entirely. You then have to aggressively press the pedal down to which it reacts wildly. Sometimes you barely touch the pedal and it takes off but most times you get little to no response. Acceleration does not react linear in conjunction with the gas pedal. A safety issue when you try and enter into traffic.

Hesitation upon acceleration. The engine does not respond in a linear manner when pressing the gas pedal.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Lexus Rx350. When stopped on a slight incline, the vehicle hesitated for a second or two without warning. The contact called herb chambers Lexus of hingham (141 derby st, hingham, MA 02043, 781-210-5200) and the technician explained that the vehicle had a computer system that tracked the various driving speed patterns and adjusted the speed control according to the driver's driving habit. The technician informed the contact to use the sport mode or to depress the brake pedal more at an incline until the vehicle was ready to move. The failure recurred approximately three times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and took information from the contact without offering any technical advice. The failure was not remedied. The failure mileage was approximately 17,500.

My car (insured) rear ended another party at less than 10 miles per hour. The pre-collision system that is part of my car never became active in my car and so I rear ended the car. Lexus inspected my RX-350 and have an unacceptable reason that it will not work, unless there is a noticeable speed difference between my car and the car ahead of me. The car was the problem and it did not work and so I rear ended the previous car. My lights were also broken and had to be replaced. Some electrical wiring rework was also done.
The collision protection system got activated by itself while driving at cretin location on cretin roads causing self hard breaking and the seat belt got full tightened , if car behind me , that well end to bad crash for sure one of the location where that always happens when passing threw ( regardless the single mentioned date) is on diffidence hwy , annapolis MD 21401 (one mile after crossing crownsville rd heeding west ) I called Lexus main office , they said they do not have recall on this model and was advised to visit a Lexus dealer , I visited Lexus of richmond virginia , they checked the car and they said that nothing wrong found ,.
Vehicle sometimes will violently surge forward when taking off. The response of the accelerator is very inconsistent. Sometimes, you can hardly get the vehicle to go, and other times it will just explode forward with just the smallest amount of pressure applied to the pedal. This caused me to run into the ditch. Very unsafe.

The problem is in the learning ability of the eight-speed automatic electronically controlled transmission (ect) in my wife's Lexus 2017 RX 350. It has delay of 2 to 3 second in accelerating occasionally after a stop or when trying accelerated in a normal drive it does not happen as expected.

While driving home, I stopped the car at the entrance to the drive way at the mail box by applying brake . The car came to a full stop. I shifted the gear ( automatic ) to park to get out of the car to pick the mail. As soon as the gear was in park, the car accelerated uncontrollably, inspite of hard breaking. I could feel the abs system being activated by the way it feels on the break pedal. The car hit the side of the house and stopped. This vehicle has built in pre collision system. After notifying the insurance company the car was towed to a body shop where it is being worked on.
On the garage driveway, suddenly my car accelerated in the reverse gear and could not be stopped even after pressing the brake. The car completely went out of control in the reverse and crashed into my backyard fence, plowed through it and finally came to a stop after hitting my raised patio!.

Upon entering a parking lot and turning slowly into a vacant spot the car accelerated really fast and wouldn't stop when brake pressed as the speed came to halt when crashing very hard into a brick wall. Both air bags on driver side deployed and were smoking really bad. The impact to my knees and face caused temporary numbness for which I couldn't feel my legs or move. The police & paramedics were called. The entire front end do my car was damaged. Recently purchased used in may 2013. It has been towed to repair shop for inspection upcoming Monday. I suspect it will be totaled and judging by the numerous complaints similar in nature, this probably should have been addressed and recalled prior to being sold.
I wish to inform you about a serious incident that occurred on September 21, 2013 while driving my Lexus 350 awd 2012. I was parking the car. My foot was on the break pedal and I was about to reverse when the car suddenly self accelerated and went up a 45 degree embankment. The car drove over very large boulders that were at the head of the parking space. The underbelly of the car rammed into a very large boulder that raised the left rear wheel off the ground and stopped the car from continuing up the incline. The acceleration over the boulders and up the embankment was consistently fast moving and the break pedal was useless. Lexus was informed and advised that would send an inspector. The life on myself and the passengers were seriously put at risk. I do not want to drive the car again because of the unpredictability and life threatening risk the car poses because of the self acceleration issue. I kindly request your office review this serious matter. I am seeking reimbursement for my up-front financial commitment or a trade-in for a dependable vehicle.
After exiting a parking lot by backing out, Lexus RX 350 driver preceded to the parking lot exit. Upon making a left hand turn towards the exit, the car immediately lurched forward and despite the drivers attempt to stop the car by applying the brakes, the car hit another parked car. The RX 350 came to a stop only after hitting the curbing of the parking lot. The car that was hit was unoccupied. There were no injuries to the driver of the RX 350.
Turning into a parking spot at a very slow rate of speed due to the congested nature of the shopping center. Pulled in with foot on the brake and started to put vehicle into park when the engine revd and the car accelerated very quickly over the curb and into the wall of the shopping center. I felt no control over the vehicle. Only issue with car since purchase were the brakes had to be resurfaced shortly after we got it. Witnesses in the car behind me waiting for me to park also stated that they were shocked to see the car launch forward as they saw that I was near a dead stop. Damage to front end but able to get car back home. Contacted park place Lexus in plano TX and service representative stated they would to it to the dealership for investigation. 30 mins after two truck left, sales person calls to tell me that they should not have towed it and he had specific instructions from lexas corp not to work on or open a repair ticket on a care reporting unintentional acceleration. I needed to call the main 800 number. Now have to get car back to house at my expense so the Lexus paid "independent investigator" can come look at the vehicle in 3-5 days. Mortified at the thought this could have killed someone walking along the sidewalk. Too many reports of this issue during parking events. Something needs to be done. Lexus has the opp to do the right thing. . . Let's see if they stand behind their vehicles. One or two instances is driver error. . . . Not enough to force Toyota to settle for billions rather than face a jury. Just saying. . . If I had any doubt about whether I hit the accelerator instead of the brake I wouldln't take the time to report this to a gov agency.
