Engine Stall Problems of Lincoln LS

While shifting gears the vehicle jerked and vibrated uncontrollably. The driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle and pulled over. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. However, mechanic could not duplicate the problem at this time. Blemish in rear leater seats. Engine stalls out and occasions surges/hesitates. Very hard 1-2 shift and transmission hunts 4-5 shift. No problem found. Transmission was upgraded for 2004 Ls to syncro type, which accounts for a crisp 1-2 shift. Under load going up hills vehicle will buck/loses power on acceleration. Powertrain control module (pcm) upgraded. Right side visor inoperative and replaced. Left front sill panel popped off. Sill panel reattached. Cigarette lighter inoperative and replaced. When steping on gas vehicle hesitates then takes off. No problem found. Traction control and abs lamps were on. Left front abs sensor replaced.

Tl-the contact owns a 2003 Lincoln Ls. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the engine stalled. The vehicle restart independently. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,066. The VIN was not included. Ak.

Engine stalled during normal operation of the vehicle while traveling approximately 45 mph. Consumer lost control before traveling into a ditch. Dealership has examined vehicle and determined that alternator failed which resulted in stalling of engine. Please provide any additional information / documentation. *note: engine was previously replaced in September 2001 due to an unknown problem.
