My front sliding panaromic sunroof glass blew right off the vehicle while I was driving on the highway. Not to mention my sunroof was closed. I heard a gust off wind and then my sunshade started flobbing from the wind ans thats when I noticed something was wrong. I pulled over and the glass was completely gone off the car. It could have caused a major accident or even hit and killed someone. Definitely a manufacturing defect. No warning signs or problems with it beforehand as well.

The vehicle liftgate no longer properly latches and has opened suddenly. The interior audible warning sound continuously alerts and the interior lights sometimes fail to turn-off. The 'liftgate ajar' warning light remains on. This problem seems similar to the recall on 2011 Lincoln Mkx.

Rear doors would not latch after being opened in 24° weather. This situation happened after the car was preheated outdoors and persisted throughout a 60 mile trip. Car had to be parked with the doors held shut using the seat belts to keep them closed. After returning during above freezing temperatures the door worked as it should. Children had to hold doors shut during trip.

First it was the alarm system it would lock me out the car. Then it was the air conditioning it would only turn on when it wanted too. Then I would press the seat cooler and it malfunctioned and I had a second degree burn on my lower back. Then the check engine light came on and it started to overheat. I pulled over turned off the ignition and the car was still running. That happened twice my mechanic would come turn the car off even by disconnecting the battery the car was still on somehow he had to disconnect another part for car to turn off. He told me not move it anymore. 15 to 20 minutes later the car was on fire and the fire department came and turned it off. I bought the car on 4/24/2021 and it was on fire on 05/27/2021.

Primary and secondary hood latches come undone leaving hood completely unlatched. First time, car was being backed out on a concrete driveway after sitting for several days. The second time, another driver noticed it as I was leaving a parking lot. He exited his car at a stop sign to tell me about it and to close the hood. Neither latch was engaged in either instance and was after car sat undriven for a few hours up to 3-4 days. No driving at any time on rough terrain, pot holes, or gravel/dirt roads. All city or highway driving m.
Rear panoramic stationary glass (sunroof) shattered on its own, no impact from anything. Shattered in all 4 corners. Car was stationary in parking lot.
My 2012 Lincoln Mkx is experiencing an issue with the brakes making it almost impossible to stop. The brake pedal is requiring extreme force to stop and goes all the way to the floor, followed by a hissing airy sound. The vehicle was taken to the Lincoln dealer who diagnosed the issue as a brakes and charged me $900. After picking up the vehicle and test driving it, the problem persisted. After re-diagnosing they pointed the finger to a hydraulic control unit. This issue poses great danger and the inability to stop without literally standing and applying force to the brakes. I have had to stop driving the car because when coming to a stop at any speed, the force needed to stop and a couple close calls with ramming in the back of someone, the car is just too dangerous. Additionally, I've had other issues with this car where the trunk will not stay open. It does not detect a person putting things in the trunk and I've had to run and push it up to save a kid who was loading sports equipment.
When shutting passenger door latch, latch will not move to grip inner part of the door. This will cause the door to bounce back or not close. This usually occurs when existing or entering car. Open door warning will remain on until latch is properly hooked.
Exterior front passenger door handle broke and completely separated from vehicle during normal opening operation. Vehicle was stopped in "park' under normal opening procedure.

Faulty sunroof track assembly, unable to open or close backup rear camera stopped working, stationary (prior to backing up, once put in reverse).
Driver door ajar light will not go out. . . Causing interior lights to stay on affecting visibility at night,,,and causing battery to run down. . . Vehicle has only been driven 27,000 miles . . . Vehicle was in motion on a city street when this was noticed. . . Also doors will not lock and alarm will not set when parking when this door switch malfunctions.
I purchased this 2013 Lincoln Mkx in October of 2017. It was a used vehicle but appeared to be in excellent condition. In April, the sunroof flipped back and chipped the back glass of the panoramic roof. Considering this is a known problem regarding Ford and their sunroofs, my insurance refuses to cover it. I am a single mother of 3 and just wanted something nice for once. The damage costs more than the cars trade in value. I have had bad luck with Ford in the past. I should have known better.
Door ajar will not turn off even when the door is closed. It keeps all the dome lights on and the car will not lock while in motion, therefore causing a fall out hazard while the vehicle is in motion. While in park, the dome lights remain on for a significant amount of time causing battery drainage and doors do not lock. They unlock themselves creating a safety issue.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Mkx. While driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle jerked forward and the undercarriage detached from the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. In addition, fluids were leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to dave sinclair Lincoln st peters (4760 n service rd, st peters, mo 63376) where it was diagnosed that the undercarriage, fuel line, and transmission lines needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no further assistance. The failure mileage and VIN were unknown.
On or about August 2017, while driving I noticed exhaust fumes coming into interior of 2016 Lincoln Mkx SUV which smelled bad and made eyes water. Took car to dealership for the problem: 1. They found that rear weld seams behind left and right tail lights were cracked and also weld seams below left and right tail lights were cracked. 2. Rubber grommet was missing (hole) behind left tail light, rear air vent on right side behind tail light was not working. 3. Dealer sealed weld seams on both sides, (lt & rt) installed black tape over grommet hole with sealant and replaced right rear vent. 4. Then pressure tested interior for leaks.
The driver door latch would say its till open when the door is closed. Had to repair it twice at the dealer. Now the right rear door has the same issue.
Door ajar warning on drivers door with door closed. Dome light stays on. Doors will not lock. This warning happens when vehicle is stationary and in motion.
Driver door ajar warning light is on. Has been repaired once under warranty. When on, the door locks do not secure the vehicle should it be involved in an accident! appears to be a consistent problem with fords but they are not willing to resolve the problem. A recall should mandidated.
Door ajar warning - I have had to replace both my driver's door latch and the left rear door latch in the past 4 months. When the left rear door ajar warning light came on interior lights would stay on or the security alarm would go off at random times of the day or night. I replaced the door latch problem solved. Then the door ajar warning for the drivers door started coming on earlier the month at random times. When driver side door ajar warning light comes on, the door locks do not work. I can try to lock them and they will lock and then 2 seconds later they unlock. This is a big safety issue as well as a security issue. I knew the fix was to replace the door latch which I did. The problem for now has gone away. I cannot afford to keep replacing door latches on this vehicle. I called Lincoln / Ford and complained to them about it and they said that it is nothing they could do about it.
Takata recall, NHTSA recall no. 16v384, Lincoln recall no. 16s26 11-23-16, I turned steering wheel to begin to park in shopping mall garage. Driver airbag immediately deployed prior to impact which caused me to hit the concrete wall ahead. There were no other passengers in the vehicle. Recall notice received July 2016 on passenger airbag. Obviously, there is a problem with the driver airbag also. We contacted Lincoln dealer when we received the notice & also contacted athem an additional 2 3 times to check on status of recall repair with no results. Was told parts had not been received yet & that we would be notified when to schedule an appointment for the recall repair.
2011 Lincoln Mkx - problem - intermittent "driver door ajar" warning shown on instrument cluster - cause dome lights to illuminate, and repeated door closing attempts to end "door a jar" warning. Warning happens when stationary and / or in motion, resulting in an unplanned stop. If diving with "door ajar" warning, doors will not stay locked, questioning if doors are really closed.
When my car is turned on and stationary with all doors closed, the dash gives me a warning that says the driver side rear door is ajar, when again, it is closed.
The doors do not lock while driving and the interior dome light stays on while driving. It has been to the dealership and it stop for a few months and started right back doing it. It has been doing it since 2013.
Drivers door shows open when closed. Cant lock the doors and battery drains. Happens when closing at stop on when moving.
Lift gate malfunction. While unloading my groceries the lift gate slammed down on my head. There was no warning beep. Sustained a cut to my face. This is a safety risk. I took a video of the lift gate malfunction after the incident.
1. ) front bumper cover developed a bulge (came a loose) June 2016 on right front side because the bumper tabs are too thin or flimsy and will not hold bumper cover underneath the headlight assembly properly. This is a manufacturing defect by the Lincoln motor company and they have failed to repair my car bumper for one whole year. The car dealership they sent me to cannot fix this bumper because it is a manufacturing defect, they actually make the bulge on bumper worse. Lincoln knows the bumper cover is defective and has failed to come up with a fix that will last. This is poor workmanship by Lincoln. Car was stationary in my driveway. I want Lincoln to fix my car properly or give me another car of equal value. 2. ) both left and right front door exterior bottom black plastic door panels with chrome inserts have come loose and shake when opening or closing doors. This is poor workmanship by Lincoln. Car was stationary and in my driveway.
The door ajar light stays on for the drivers side door even when all doors are closed. This problem is a safety issue because it doesn't allow me to lock my doors while driving. Nor can I access my keyless entry or door lock. This seems to be a common problem and gross negligence. This is a potential law suit and victim of a crime.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that the front drivers side door did not securely latch causing the door to unexpectedly open while the contact was driving and also causing the battery in the vehicle to die. The contact was not included in the NHTSA campaign number:17v210000 (latches/locks/linkages). The dealer franklin park Lincoln, inc 5272 monroe st, toledo, OH 43623 replaced the door latch. The manufacturer was contacted and were unable to provide any further assistance. The failure mileage was 39,362. Am.
When the door is closed, the door ajar light stays on and the doors never lock while driving. Also the door can be closed and the door ajar light will not be on but at any moment the door ajar light will come on causing the factory alarm to go off at any time, day or night. It has been to the dealership numerous times for this issue since 2013.
Drivers side door latch mechanism has failed. The door open warning light on the dash stays on. Attempts to get it to go out have failed. The car dings the entire time while driving it. At night the overhead lights stay on and interfers with visibility. When car is parked the interior lights stay on, draining the battery due to the door open warning on the dash.
I purchased this vehicle new in 2013 and 3 of 4 door sensors have malfunctioned. The door ajar light is always on so my doors will not lock while driving. This is a very serious concern as I have small children as passengers, also god forbid I am in a situation where I need to lock myself in my car for some reason; I am screwed! the alarm constantly goes off if I lock/arm the alarm or and lock doors because of the door sensors. The dome light illuminates at random times while driving, very annoying while driving at night, another safety issue in my opinion. When the first sensor started acting up I took the vehicle to the dealer and they quoted me $420! as it stands right now I would have to pay over $1200 to repair faulty door sensors on a vehicle that is less than 5 years old. I was simply told by the Ford dealer that I should have purchased an extended warranty and that the issue is not covered under a recall because it is not a safety issue. As a parent with two young children I refuse to accept that not being able to lock my doors while driving is not a safety issue. From what I have been reading online many Ford and Lincoln model cars are experiencing the same issues. Someone needs to hold Ford/Lincoln accountable and make them fix this issue at no charge to the consumer. I already paid them a hefty price to purchase the vehicle less than 5 years ago. There is absolutely no reason all of these mechanisms should be failing or already failed in such a short amount of time. This is unacceptable!!! * 11/01/2015 is the approximate date when symptoms/issues first began.
This vehicle has been producing a strong exhaust/burning/sulfur smell in the cabin while using the climate control system/recirculator. There is a technical service bulletin out for this exact problem that states under certain conditions exhaust fumes can be pulled back into the cabin when using the climate controls. I took the vehicle to the dealership and paid $105. 00 for them to tell me exactly what I already know. I would like to know what they did to pinpoint this specific problem. They told me TSB is not paid for by Ford. They quoted me $500-600 to fix the problem following the TSB. My wife and kids are in this vehicle 95% of the time and have complained to me about the nauseating smell. Not to mention exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide! the dealership said the rear bumper needs to be pulled off and numerous areas of the body sealed where fumes are getting in. Why this isn't a full recall from Ford is beyond me. Exhaust fumes entering the cabin making people feel sick and Ford knows about this issue should be a full recall in my opinion. Or at least cover this repair for the people that have this problem. Not sure what my next step will be, but I can't spend $500-$600 right now. I hope NHTSA researches this problem if they haven't already.
