I have noticed exhaust fumes in the cabin when driving. I drive both highway and city, but it is worse on the highway. I started feeling tires and foggy headed every time I drove. I tried recycling air and open air both but didn't seem to help. I went to the dealership for oil change and told them about the problem. Service concierge said they had another 2016 Mkx in at that time with the same problem. I was told they couldn't look at my vehicle for over two weeks and wouldn't have a loaner car until then. I told them I was concerned about driving with the problem and was offered two options. . . Leave it there until they could look at it, with no loaner car, or for times sake take it to another dealership. This is unacceptable and a liability in my opinion.

2016 Lincoln Mkx - under hard acceleration, I am getting exhaust fumes and also rotten egg smell coming into the interior with a. C. On and in recirculate mode with windows up. My SUV only has 27,000 miles on it. I should not be getting exhaust fumes of any kind inside of my SUV. This should be investigated because exhaust fumes inside of a SUV are dangerous.
During hard acceleration, the smell of rotten eggs enters the cabin regardless of what type of fan is blowing (air conditioning - fresh air or recirculate). Lincoln under a TSB claimed that they fixed the problem by resealing the rear seals to the rear hatch. The smell continues and if you do research, this is a widespread problem in Ford edge's, explorer's and Lincoln Mkx's. Ford doesn't seem to think that exhaust entering the cabin for which they do not have fix for is worthy of a system wide recall. I suspect that carbon monoxide and other poisonous gases are entering the cabin and cannot be good for the occupants. . . This issue was present from the first day I leased the vehicle.

I have had problems with my 2016 Mkx, purchased in June of 2016. The exhaust system has been leaking into the cabin. I actually took the car in for service, but the car dealership could not find an issue. They cleaned underneath the exhaust lines and it has improved. The vehicle is usually in motion, I live in an area with hills usually after climbing up a hill of a city street. I have noticed the smell lingering even after I've been out of the car. I've seen on other sites where other Lincoln owners have complained as well. I'm posting this message as I believe the exhaust system issue for Ford is beyond just the Ford line and also Lincoln.
2014 Lincoln Mkx. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle moves when gear shifter in park position, power lift gate sporadically opens/rises, carbon monoxide odors inside vehicle. The consumer stated a light illuminated that indicated the vehicle was not in park, when the consumer moved the gear to park. The consumer stated he shook the gear shift a little and the light went out. A few days later, before he could raise the hatch, the vehicle started rolling backwards into the street. The consumer managed to get in the vehicle, and once again a light was on, indicating the vehicle was not in park, despite him placing the vehicle in park. Also, the passenger side mirror would sporadically go all the way up while driving, which made the entire right side of the vehicle a blind spot. After a year and a half of complaints, the dealer inspected the mirror and determined it was defective and replaced it. The rear hatch would sporadically open, and rise when the vehicle was parked or being driven. The consumer stated intermittently, a light would illuminate on the vehicle, saying a key was not detected exhaust fumes entered the vehicle while driving at times.

The vehicle when accelerating lets exhaust and carbon monoxide into car interior. Took the SUV to dealer and has been worked on several times with no fix. Ford motor company field engineer was unable to fine and recommend a repair. Asked Ford to repurchase vehicle but they refused saying its norm for the SUV. They did not give any regulations or anything that would support this as we should not have to breathe gas fumes when traveling down a highway. We were told not to use interior circulation and it would help, not to use air the vehicle when accelerating lets exhaust and carbon monoxide into car interior. Took the SUV to dealer and has been worked on several times with no fix. Ford motor company field engineer was unable to fine and recommend a repair. Asked Ford to repurchase vehicle but they refused saying its norm for the SUV. They did not give any regulations or anything that would support this other than them just making a statement hoping we go away, we should not have to breathe gas fumes when traveling down a highway. We were told not to use interior circulation and it would help, not to use air conditioner on max. The cabin on car fills with the gas fumes and makes us tired and fatigue when driving for extended period of time. We purchase a luxury SUV as Ford would have you to believe but it actually more like a gas chamber having to breath this seems a little too much. I hope the NHTSA can get Ford to acknowledge they have a problem and make them take it seriously and get rid of what is causing the problem.
