Tl the contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated while driving 30 mph and coming to a stop light the brake pedal was depressed however, the vehicle would not stop. The contact stated she had to pump the brake pedal several times before the vehicle stopped. The brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the failure was diagnosed as faulty brake pads. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The vehicle was listed in NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic). Neither the local dealer nor the manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 199,000.

I was driving, normally around town. My brakes have been working find and normal up until this point. Then, all of sudden I went to press my brakes and the pedal almost went to the floor. Luckily, there was not any cars in front of me or was at an intersection. Several warning lights came check engine wrench, abs light, service advance track and e brake light. So, I was close to my home and I drove it slowly to my house and checked underneath the hood. The brake fluid level was fine and no brake line leaks whatsoever. Next, I researched the problem online and found out that it is an abs module failure. I also found out that Ford had a recall on their abs system, but for only years 2006-2010. Go figure, the new module costs over $500 plus, then labor charges and a dealer has to reprogram the abs system. Wow, what a super expensive unforeseen repair pill.

In January 2021, my vehicle had reached about 60,000 miles. As I was backing out of my driveway, I noticed multiple warning lights on the instrument panel and as I tried to stop the car discovered that the brakes were not working. I pulled the emergency brake handle and stopped the car. Had the car not stopped, I probably would not have avoided going into the street. I turned off and restarted the car but the brakes did not work (after you start the car, the abs light goes on and then the brake warning light goes on; the brakes only work a little near the floor). The vehicle was taken to the dealer and both the abs module and hydraulic control unit had to be replaced at a cost of about $3200. I noticed a recall for basically the same thing but the recall only went up to 2010.

The brake service light comes on periodically as well as the service advance trac message across the dashboard and the brakes don't function properly at this time preventing the vehicle from stopping while driving.
Tl the contact owns a 2008 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard with the brake warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called cole Ford llc (410 e. Chicago st, coldwater, mi 49036(517)278-5661) and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Car in question: 2011 Lincoln Mkz hybrid, 163,287 km (101,484 miles). Driving on a city street all of the sudden warning lights come abs, traction control, giant wrench, p/brake light, service advancetrac. Brake pedal all the way to the floor, I blew a stop sign, as car was slowing down, but than just rolled thru the intersection. Had to use a parking brake to come to a complete stop when I was looking for a safe spot to pull over. Had to replace hydraulic control module and abs module.
Brake light led assembly has 2 of 3 rows not functioning; Ford extended warranty on 2010 & '11 model year, but not 2012 for this failure. Seems a defect failure Ford has admitted on earlier model years, but does not want to admit it also happens on this model year. Guess they are using left over parts. Lots of pictures of this problem on the web / internet. Passenger / right side brake lights.
Went to stop in winter conditions and the brake pedal went to the floor. Almost rear ended the car at the stop sign, had to go to the shoulder to avoid hitting them. Now the abs, traction control, and brake system light come on as soon as I reach 15 mph. I have had all the rotors, calipers, and break pads replaced. Still having the same issue.
Break pedal will go to the floor this always happens when driving. Breaks will work but very scary to drive. This has happened 3 times in the last year. It was taken to the dealer each time with no resolve. All break, traction control, emg brakes lights came on dealer said its a hydrolic control unit $1500. 00. Another repair station hooked it up and it came back with a b1342, occupant system module. I had just had the air bag fixed due to recall. I was told this occupant module will control/malfunction other areas of the auto.
Passenger side outside led taillight/brake light is now flashing, as if a right turn signal were activated, but when no turn signal is activated. This is in addition to a prior reported defect where the same passenger side led taillight displays a light condition as if braking, when car is not actually braking. This safety defect is also observed on some 2008-2010 Mkz and Mercury milan vehicles in the past 18 months. The led lights are not owner replaceable; instead the entire taillight must be replaced at a cost to the owner of over $500. This confuses other drivers and then creates a safety hazard.
