Our vehicle is subject to NHTSA recall 19v-904. In 2020, Lincoln stopped repairing vehicles subject to this recall. Unfortunately, my vehicle is suffering from this brake problem and I have lost use of my brakes on several occasions. On June 26, 2020, my brakes failed resulting in a property damage accident. After body damage repair, my brakes have again failed. The local Ford dealership finally agreed to examine the vehicle and found that the brake failure was related to the recall. Nevertheless, in addition to the thousands paid to repair mine and the other party's vehicle's damage, I've had to pay the local Ford dealership $1093. 80 to fix the car. The brake failure is dangerous and potentially deadly. Lincoln's delay in remedying the issue is the direct cause of my car accident.

Two weeks ago I got in my car and drove down to the intersection at the end of my street. When I hit the brake pedal, nothing happened other than the sudden appearance of three dashboard warning lights about brake failure. The car would not stop and continued into the intersection. Before calamity struck, I managed to pull up the parking brake and turn the car into the curb, stopping it.

At any given time the brakes will go out in the car and give a fault code to check abs system. This has happened 4 times over a 2 year period, one of those times I was going 55 mph and went to stop at a yellow light. My brakes failed and I ended up running the red light almost hitting a car starting to cross from the other direction. Once you shut off the car and turn it back on the brakes work again like nothing was ever wrong. I took the car to the dealership and they were not able to find anything wrong with the car. Each time it has done this the dealership can't find anything wrong. I've seen other people having the same issue that has caused accidents, I'm not sure why there hasn't been anything done about it yet.

I was traveling in bumper to bumper traffic with family and friends traveling at about 10 mph when I went to apply the brakes and the car would not react I then applied both feet standing on the pedal announcing I wasn't stopping and nudged into the back of the car in front of me. It left only minor damage to my vehicle and none to the one I hit. I shut the car off and turned it back on and the brakes seems to work again. I took the car to the dealership the next morning and they reviewed the issue for a few days and could find nothing wrong and said everything tested fine. I frankly do not trust the safety of the vehicle and will now only drive it myself. I am a retired police officer and former employee of nhsta region 8 with 20 years of crash reconstruction experience and I have never personally had a brake failure so it is concerning. I wanted to submit the report for tracking purposes in case others encounter the problem or their is a future problem with this vehicle. Thank you.
