Vehicles navigation fails to keep accurate information - offsetting by 2-3 miles of actual location, and sync display fails to work properly after reverse camera is engaged, completely freezing for 5 - 15 minutes.
I was sitting in idle staying warm in car. When I decided to leave, I noticed I couldn't turn the steering wheel or that it was very difficult to steer. I have not had this issue inspected. The warning lights that was on before was "service advancedtrac", "collision warning not available" "drive control malfunction service required". I called sons Ford auburn where they stayed there was no recall for this issue. I also called Lincoln customer service where they told me the recall doesn't fall under my vehicle due to it being a hybrid and that I don't have the bolts associated with the recall.

I’ve had my car for 7 months and the power steering went out. Not able drive until repaired for $2000.
The 2019 Lincoln Mkz electrical system is faulty in my vehicle. Despite having all doors locked with car on and running someone was still able to open my door from the outside and essentially was carjacked, robbed, and severely beaten by 6 men. I did file a police report so it’s all documented along with photographs of my injuries sustained.

My power steering electric system doesn’t work, the steering gear motor may have detached from the gear housing resulting in a loss of power steering assist, requiring a greater steering effort, especially at lower speeds.
I became the owner of a 2012 Lincoln Mkz hybrid in 2016. At first there was no issues. Roughly a couple of months later, there was a power steering issue- so the car was driven to Ford with great difficulty where they reset the sensor or something and the power steering was working again. Now a couple of years later, the problem occurred again. The power steering chime came on, the car read “service advancetrac” in yellow and “power steering assist fault” in read, accompanied by the wheel stiffening. I pulled over turned the car off and back on, and the problem went away. It occurred several more times and turning the car off and back on remedied the problem. It would only occur every couple of months, but more recently it started happening every couple of weeks and now- the last ten days it has happened every time I drive. Each of those times, with the exception of the most recent occurrence, turning the car off and letting it sit for a couple of minutes, followed by turning it back on, solved the problem. The most recent time, I was traveling on the highway going 60 mph when the messages appeared and my wheel stiffened. It terrified me as I was moving fast on a southern California highway where there are hundreds of cars. I was on my way to take a final exam, that I could not miss, so I kept driving. Steering was near impossible at low speeds. I went in to take my final and three hours later, when I turned the car back on, the power steering still was not working. After hours of research and years of dealing with this problem, I have found that there was a recall regarding the pscm in the 2012 Lincoln Mkz. I am unsure if this problem extends to the hybrid model, and if so whether it was remedied by a past owner, but a detailed vehicle history report indicates that it was not. I have never received any notice as to this recall. I do know that my car was manufactured in the applicable time period (2011), and that it is experiencing exactly what the recall describes.

The contact owns a 2013 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated while starting the vehicle and driving at various speeds, there was a loud beeping sound as if the doors were unlocked or opened. There were no warning light or error messages displayed. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
I push my start button and it makes the starting nose and after a few minutes it starts and when I go to move it stalls out and then won't start again or starts and stalls again. But the next day drives fine. And it has been happening now for months even after we fixed the high rich codes it was giving out but now there's no codes appearing.
Brakes have failed. Cannot even get to dealership because of this for the repair. Also, airbag light is still on and no repair listed for recall issue.

User interface for hvac, entertainment system, and everything through the Ford sync screen is unusable. Had this repaired 11 months prior. Issue returned. Dealer says , “there are several things going on with it. 1 the front inter face control module 2. Display screen and 3. Apim. Parts labor and tax it would run $2,670. 00. ” there are many instances of reports of these issues with not only the Mkz models, but with many of Ford’s lineup including Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Safety implications are uncontrollable heat (unsafe temperature levels and fatigue inducing), uncontrollable sound levels (distracting and can’t hear environment), loss of hands free, loss of backup camera.
The contact owns a 2014 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated the vehicle was 23v162000 (service brakes, hydraulic) completed the vehicle's main control system began to cause several different electrical systems in the vehicle to malfunction. Some of these systems consist of the starter needing to be activated several times throughout the day, the windows sliding up and down, as well, and other systems. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
I put the car in park and it accelerated and hit the corner of my garage. When it was towed to the dealer for repair - I was told the message on the car was shift malfunction there was damage to the front grill, hood and passenger side quarter panel the vehicle is at southgate Lincoln for repair and available for inspection I've asked the insurance company to investigate. There were no warning messages prior to impact someone could have been seriously injured and I could have had serious property damage.
The air blower and radio automatically adjust. The air will turn on and off by itself and go from low speed to full blast and all in between. The radio automatically adjusts volume by itself. Luckily, so far when it’s happens it can be turned off and doesn’t come back on. However, you can see the lights on the volume button control going crazy from high to low. It happens continually. The radio can barely be used because it won’t stay consistent.
My Mkz suddenly cut off without warning lamps or messages at highway speed. There was a very quick shudder and all power lost. After pulling onto the road shoulder and waiting a few minutes, it restarted and drove normally. I stopped about 15 minutes later and switched it off. When returning to the vehicle, it would not start. I had it towed to a garage where it has been for 6 weeks. They have been unable to identify the problem and get it restarted. Online reports by others indicate this occurred with other Lincoln products over a span of a few years with no assistance from Lincoln/Ford to identify the problem. This is a huge safety issue, as well an immediate personal inconvenience.

I was driving on the freeway when the steering on my car became very difficult and “wobbly”. It was hard to keep it going straight. I knew something was wrong and when I got home, I told my husband to check my tires. The next morning I was told that my tires were fine but when we got into the car, this time I got 4 errors regarding the drive control and steering assist fault. The steering wheel was locked and the car was unable to be driven.
Failed components: sunroof drains become clogged and overflow into trunk well, causing electrical shortage, mold/mildew, and water damage along headliner and side airbags. Safety risk: electrical shortage causes fire risk, and mold mildew build up in car for asthmatic makes it damaging for air intake myself and others inside vehicle. Side airbags at risk as over flooding runs down pillars along side wiring. Reproduced: this has occurred twice, in my 2013 & 2017 Lincoln Mkz. No documentation is listed in either manual for maintenance around drains or possible flooding risk. Symptoms: shorted electrical components for audio systems, check engine light, putrid foul odor lingering in vehicle, soaked rear carpet in trunk (closest to back seat) headliner show signs of water damage near curtain airbags. Notice to auto manufacturer: I alerted Ford motor company the first time in my 2013 Mkz on several different occasions, after the vehicle was in repair 3x over $5k in damages, due to faulty connection of drains. 2017 Mkz, as of January 2023 has a flooded trunk, malfunctioning electrical systems, mold/mildew build up, with estimated repairs of $5k+. Advised that nowhere in the maintenance section is this listed considering the magnitude of damage this can result in from poor care and design.
The contact owns a 2014 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated while reversing out of his parking lot, the vehicle stalled and the contact felt the vehicle lose power and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact had to restart the vehicle several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they stated that the pcn had a failure and the pcn was replaced but the failure continued, the vehicle was taken to another dealer and the fuel pump was replaced but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and they stated the pcn had failed but, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and they stated that there was no recall under his VIN and advised him to contact the NHTSA hotline and file a complaint. The failure mileage was 89,000.
The brake light switch assembly failed. The car's brake light will not go off. Other drivers do not know if you are braking. The dealer can not fix it until next week, meanwhile, it is dangerous to drive. This brake switch assembly is under recall for 2014 Mkz and 2015 Mkz. It looks to be the same assembly on the 2016 Mkz. There was no warning. The brake lights come on while parked in the driveway and won't go off.
-rear view camera will only work 20% of the time at best. -the outside trunk button does not work at all, but the trunk button on the remote and inside the vehicle work. -the heated and cooling seats seldomly work. - the vehicle has randomly shut down, followed by trouble starting while in park on a few occasions in the last few years. -.
Fcim failure causes ac unit to activate randomly. Windows can fog without warning causing an unsafe driving condition. Also, from youtube videos - this defect can also cause rear windows to lock/unlock unexpectedly (I have not yet experienced this).
An electrical overload occurs below the passengers seat, burning out the electrical connector, requiring a costly repair and can be a fire hazard. This is the second time this vehicle had this electrical problem and has required repair. The dealer has confirmed this problem, but has no solution, only to replace the same parts. There is not notification this issue is occurring, the only evidence of the problem is the heated/cooled seats stop working.
Navigation fails to locate correct gps location rendering all navigation functions useless. Apim module replaced once under warranty, now 1 year later the issue has returned.
[xxx] came out to his vehicle and rear seats and seat belts were melted from interior part of the seats. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated that over the past year, she had replaced the battery on three separate occasions. The contact stated that on each occurrence, the vehicle failed to start up after multiple attempts and the vehicle had to be jumpstarted. The vehicle was started and driven to the dealer for the battery to be replaced. Recently, the contact was informed that the ssm rear gate trunk module may intermittently remain operational causing battery drainage. The dealer repaired the failure but could not guarantee that the repair would fix the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 29,236.

Has not been keeping whoever is the new owner of the 2010 Lincoln Mkz advised of recalls.

The abs system malfunction. All sensors light up and brakes did not work. You could push the brakes to the floor. Very dangerous situatiuon. This is the same abs malfunction that has been the subject of a Ford recalled of 600, 000 vehicles in the fusion, and mk's in the years thru 2010 but not 2011 and 2012 which yse the same braking system. This is a unacceptable and dangerous.
After reading about the numerous complaints about this vehicles transmission issues I have decided to come here. The pcm and tcm need to be changed in the vehicle. Causing rough shifts from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th which essentially will cause you to replace the transmission because of the damage it causes. Also constantly having drive control malfunction, check headlamp system messages popping up. There is also horrendous noise from the rear suspension any time you go over any type of anomaly in the road.
After a year with the purchasing dealer we are still having on-going electrical issues with the vehicle. Apple sync, voice control. Still have issues with rims pitting after only less than 10,000 miles on the vehicle. Bolt rusting on under carriage. Film on back window. Lincoln corporate has been following this case for a year now and my rep is mr. Dehane davis. This file is still open at Lincoln corporate.
