Car Accelerates On Its Own Problems of Lincoln Town Car - part 2

Vehicle suffered sudden acceleration when shifted from park into reverse. Dealer has inspected the vehicle three times and could not duplicate or correct the problem.

The vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning while idling, which resulted in the vehicle hitting a wall, consumer was injured.

The vehicle suddenly accelerated when the consumer attempted to back out of the driveway and struck a parked vehicle. This incident happened a day after the vehicle received a 5 thousand mile check up. The dealer could not duplicate. Refer to odi #8020090 mr scc.

Consumer states was backing out of driveway. Put vehicle in reverse and car suddenly accelerated rearward across the street and collided w/another vehicle. Nlm. Consumer states the the exhaust pipe and muffler were replaced , the front and rear suspension was aligned.

Vehicle was at a complete stop, there was sudden acceleration. Vehicle lurched forward. Had to slam on brakes, and put vehicle in neutral to stop.

Consumer states that the vehicle has experienced sudden acceleration on six occasions, the only way to get the vehicle to stop is by heavy brake pressure and turning off the ignition, on one occasion the rear wheels locked up.

Engine suddenly accelerated. Dealer has been contacted, but was unable to locate source of problem.

Had come to a complete stop. Was waiting to make a left turn, with foot on brakes, and vehicle started to race/rpms went up. Vehicle suddenly accelerated. Took to dealership the same day to have it checked. Was informed vehicle would need to be left for a few days to be test driven. Owner was provided a rental. Once vehicle was test driven, mechanic could not locate any problems with acceleration.

While pulling into a parking space, vehicle suddenly accelerated and hit a building, causing both air bags to deploy. No body injury or property damages reported. Dealer / manufacturer notified.
