Unintended/unexpected acceleration, even while brake pedal is pressed. Happens intermittently. Most scary time for me happened in publix parking lot at crosswalk for pedestrians. I thought I was going to hit the pedestrians. There are two drivers for this car and has happened to both of us. Just now, [xxx] around [xxx] it happened again when the other driver was driving out of subway parking lot near st. Johns river into right lane of 3 lanes of traffic near an intersection with a car tuning left right in front of us. Very scary and glad no collision. No, to dealer or independent service dealer question. No, to the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others question no, to the warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem question information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

When applying the brake to slow down on an exit ramp, the car unexpectedly accelerated despite the brake pedal being pressed hard. The driver was able to avoid a collision with a stopped vehicle in front by shifting the gear into neutral. The engine revved up for a couple a seconds, but returned to a normal rate of revolution with the gear still in neutral and the car practically stopped.
When braking to stop there was sudden acceleration that braking could not control resulting in hitting the rear of a stopped car in front of me. This has happened in the past with no warning. It usually happens when braking, but not always. I have had the car to a Ford dealership twice with this problem. They claim they can find nothing wrong with the car. I took it into them today after this incident. They would not even look at the car. Said that Ford had no bulletins on this and said that I was on mu own. I see online that there has been a class action lawsuit against Ford about this. This could be a life-threatening problem. What do I do?.

While accelerating approximate @ 30 mph, vehicle speed increased without assistance nearly plummeting into a body of water at a curve. . . Exit 77 on I-95s MD. The car could not handled the curve at that rate of speed. Town car had to be thrown into neutral and hard press brake pedal in order to stop. Safety issue could have been major accident or my death. I do not desire to reproduce a dangerous scenario with an accelerating vehicle. Dealership and private mechanic refused to reproduce incident. Zero warning lamps and nothing in computer to determine a problem/fix.

While exiting a parking facility cars were doing an alternate merge into a single lane. It was slow stop and go and I was waiting my turn with my foot on the brake. All of a sudden my car accelerated aggressively and I slammed on the brakes and put it in park. I used just less than a car length to stop the car after it lurched froward. I noticed that the tachometer momentarily exceeded 4000 rpm. This would have been an accident except for fortuitous timing. I allowed the car to my left space to merge and there was about a car length of space available which the other car had not entered yet. That space gave me the margin to get the car stopped without hitting a car in front of me.
The contact owns a 2005 Lincoln Town Car. While coming to a complete stop, the vehicle accelerated independently. After the brake pedal was depressed numerous times, the vehicle came to a stop. I had just purchased this vehicle and was driving it home from the car dealership. While pressing on the brake pedal with my right foot to stop at a traffic light, the brake pedal went down so far that my right foot began to also press on the accelerator pedal while that same foot was still on the brake pedal. As my right foot was then pressing on both pedals (brake and accelerator), the car began to accelerate towards the intersection being controlled by the traffic light and towards another car that had stopped at the traffic light. To avoid plowing into the back of the stopped vehicle, I shifted the gear shift from "d" (drive) to the neutral position and then my car suddenly stopped just before plowing into the back of the stopped vehicle. At the time of this incident I did not realize what caused this, but I was able to reproduce this series of events within a hour afterwards.
While coming to a stop, car accelerated when brake was applied. Car continued to accelerate while standing on the brake, smoking the back tires. The brakes could not hold the acceleration and gradually pushed into the vehicle ahead that was stopped.

I was nearly stopped at a 4-way intersection, foot lightly on the brake, when the car lunged forward and I heard a noise as if I were pressing the accelerator and giving the car gas. I pressed the brakes hard and the car slowed but did not stop promptly (as if brakes were not working well). This was an unexplained acceleration, and dangerous. If the car had not finally stopped, I would have been in the middle of a busy intersection, with one of my precious grandchildren in the back seat. So dangerous. It happened again to me this a. M. When I was stopping at a stop sign. Brief acceleration. And I am positive I was not pressing the accelerator. Calling my dealer today. I am afraid to drive the car now.

Merging into traffic on a interstate highway I had to accelerate my speed. Vehicle seemed to lock at this higher speed and the only way I was to release this condition was to shift to neutral and slowly brake, this could have easily become ugly. This to me was like the problem with the unexplained acceleration with a gm. Product.
The oil pan rusted through and caused all the oil to leak out onto the ground. The cruse control computer keeps causing the car to take off or not even work at all when u set it, when the car takes off after setting it the gas peddle goes all the way to the floor and it will not deactivate unless you shut the car off while driving.

The car was sitting in the driveway unattended with no key in the ignition when the fire started. It had been driven about 3 hours before with no problems. The fire inspector said the fire started under the hood on the left side but he was unable to say exactly what caused the fire. After checking on line it was discovered the car was on a recall list for the speed control switch which is located on the left side.
I was in front of the townhouse where I live waiting in idle for an oncoming car to pass so I can park on my spot when I heard three clicking sounds beneath the car at the front passenger side. Seconds after that the car jerked forward at an increasing speed ,knocked a Nissan pathfinder and carried a mitsubushi eclipse ,from the parking lot, over the sidewalk to the grass while the car was still gaining speed towards a livingroom with the family in there. I was able to steer the car away from the building, between a big tree with a space the size of the car. As I came out through the tight space the speed of the car was too fast for me to negotiate it between the next set of trees. The car hit a tree and came to a stop. This is a commercial vehicle ,registered for a limousine service. I sent the car to five shops and they still cannot diagnose the problem. This is the reason why I am asking for help because I know the problem is still there.
The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Town Car. The contact stated that the driver side floor mat only had one hook that kept the floor mat secured to the carpet. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 48,270.

After being parked in parking lot - engine turned off, no radio playing, etc. We started the vehcle up, backed up, braked, put in drive and accelerated at which time the vehicle immediately accelerated out of control. Brakes would not stop the car. The car continued to accelerate faster and faster. We ran over a couple of islands, pulled fire hydrant out of the ground, ran into a wall, vehicle continued to accelerate and it seered from the wall, accelerating faster we knocked 6 parked cars out of the way like they were boxes all the while braking to no avail vehicle continuing to accelerate faster headed across the parking lot toward a chain link fence we threw the gear shift into park about the same time we hit the fence. The vehicle balked and came to stop in about 50 feet in an ajacent parking lot on the other side of the fence ripping about 50 feet of the fence with it. Front end demolished, radiator steaming, engine still running, ripped undecarriage flattened tires from rims. Totalled the car. And air bags did not deploy. Only injuries were bruises and sprains and emotional problems. Praise god. 2 adults and 3 children were in the car. I know the car malfunctioned and Lincoln has a responsibilty to the public to investigate, determine cause & correct. Look at the insurance report investigative report. They tell me it cost too much to investigate the cause since there were no severe injuries, . There are many similar incidents on the internet and some not so fortunate. There is a safety issue here and the public has the right to have these accidents investigated. The truma of being in an out of control vehicle is devestating and Lincoln has a public liability to make that determination to save future lives. 2 adults and 3 children are still emotionally disturbed about this. Are also similar incidents wtih other Ford products. Please respond.
