Inner and outer tie rod ends, tie rod end adjusting sleeve, and sway bar link replaced after inner tie rod end pulled out of the adjusting sleeve that’s on the sway bar link there’s still constant pulling in the steering and is either to touchy when trying to correct vehicle back into lane or has to be turned excessively far before it even starts to correct then tries to jerk the vehicle really hard when the steering finally catches up with how far the steering wheel has been turned.

Electrical; fill gas tank. Minutes later gauge shows I'm empty. Continues to repeat over and over. Driver's seat; crackling sound "like metal broke" seat does not adjust correctly and can no longer move the seats tilt. Having me drive in an uncomfortable position. Wipers; rainy day both motors left and right smoke up and burn out at the same time. Can no longer drive vehicle when it rains. Can't see anything wipers motors fried. As if they were allergic to water.

This has happened to me 3 times in the past 3 months. While driving interstate highway at night and traveling 65 to 70 miles per hr. , without any warning or symptoms, the headlights turn off. They then turn on and off a few times and then seem to correct themselves and stay on. This happens on trips after 1 hour or more. Has never occurred on shorter trips under 1 hour. Very dangerous and scary when it is so dark you can't see to pull over off the highway and also worried about vehicles approaching from behind not being able to see you in time. I replaced the headlight switch last week thinking that was the problem, but it happened again last night on my trip back from n. Y.

I've replaced brake wires on my 2000 Lincoln executive series 5-6 times out keeps burning out wire by brakes light switch. Tried relay kit brakes worked for one day but no brake lights again since I first bought this car I've in multiple occasions replaced this problem in the past 4-5 years no one seen to know what the main issue is.

No indication or warning prior to incident. Within 2 mi of driving, battery light came on, electrical issues began (radio/dome lights, etc), then smoke billowing from under hood. Immediately pulled over, turned off ignition, and entire front end was on fire.

Makes loud popping noise when the wheel is turned to the extreme right or left whether the car is being driven or standing still. Occasionally, the ignition won't turn on and the steering wheel is locked, closing the entire system.

Just called Ford motor company and they say that NHTSA, issues the recalls ,not Ford motor company, why haven;t you issued one for this model car? you would think Ford would be concerned about our safety, they don;t care and neither does NHTSA. . . . . How many people , including children must die before you issue a safety recall notice? thats why we need a change in our government, and very soon. . .

Takata recall: steering wheel has smoked before lightly, interior lights have stayed on,steering wheel has done a 360 turn,corrosion on the side panel and panel(chrome) has fallen off. I'm not sure how late a recall time frame is but my car happens to be very old now so I'm wondering if this is the case I have pictures from what the car looked like and up to now also my car is now at 366. �- miles so this may not even be something to be turned in, this state has also done so much damage from the potholes. .

The contact stated after shifting the vehicle into drive the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration which resulted in a crash through the passenger's garage. Lighting control module same part number as Ford recall for marquis of same year, why isn't Town Cars included from same period. Possible link to left information display in dash has begun flickering, numbers phase out and eventually after a period of time, entire display disappears losing speed, odometer, warning lights, everything on that side of the display panel. Right display panel has displayed similar flickering when left side completely goes out.

I came from work at around 0600 am on 9/4/15 in my 2004 Lincoln Town Car and park it in my apartment. At around 0330 of the same day I decided to go pick my child from school . Whent I statrted my car and put it in reverse tryng to back up from the parking lot, the car suddenly accelerated at a speed of about 60 ml/hr to hit tow cars park in the parking lot and dragging one of the to a tree which finally stopped the car. If that tree did not stop the car the damage would have been worse because all my efforts to stop the car failed. The car was just uncontrollable with unprecedented speed . It was as if the car had a mind of it self. I was just lucky because my wife and kids were in another car very close to the car that was dragged. If they have came out of the car , they would have been dragged too. Thank god their is no fatalities. I have diven all types of vehicle ,including tractor trailer over the road and domestic and have never seen such phenomenon.

Takata recall; again why is my car deleted from the list of cars with the same year? is there safety more important than my family? Ford intentionally installed a cheaper version of airbag inflator, knowing there was a problem. When is this democratic government going to go after these companies who violate the law? my 2005 Dodge truck also is under a recall for the same thing, but there are no parts available to fix it. . . We want action and now< quit telling us the consumer lies< like we"ll get back to you in (2) business days. This is all b. S. . . . . A8.

Driving slowly on a suburban street at twilight the headlights and dashboard lights went out. The same thing occurred a three times week later on the interstate at 65 mph about 10 p. M. The automatic delayed headlight off setting no longer functions. The lights can be turned on in the manual position. Apparently, the light control module has faulty relays which fail suddenly during the course of normal use.

We have a 2005 Lincoln Town Car with 87000 miles when it rains the rear r floor gets a lot of water. The water comes from a defective seal in the ac/heat system ? probably around the fan mount for the heating /cooling. And ? more trouble ? when we backed out of the driveway in wet weather ? the car froze in place ? as if we had hit a wall. It would still go forward. Happened half a dozen times ? always raining. Except one rainy Sunday, just out of the driveway leaving for church, it froze driving forward. We took the car to bob davidson Ford paid them 'diagnostic fees' - $250 for the [2] separate problems. La verne gave us the report: the leak repair would cost $600 ? and, more of a challenge, the tranny, which showed: ?transmission internal fault 150? needs replacement [about $4000 parts plus labor] the local aamco owner said this model Lincoln ? for 2005 [and the 5 other years of the same design ? is notable for considerable water problems. He had not heard of water causing the tranny problems and he asked me to get the diagnostic codes from bob davidson. Here it gets interesting. ?fault 150? is generic for transmission. The shop testing ? well, there was no code. There was no report of a defect from the car's on-board computer. No fault codes at all. Just an indication, told us ?the accumulator was leaking or there is a binding concern? when they took the car out for a test drive connected to a diagnostic tool. And from this bob davidson is able to tell us we need to replace a $4000 transmission. Plus labor, of course. We paid $120 to a leak doctor repair tech to fix the water leak on the engine side of the firewall. The water leak seems to be resolved and the tranny locking up problem has not happened again. Even when it rains. Any help you can give on this will be greatly appreciated.

The ¿the Lincoln motor company ¿ important safety recall� is just another Ford lie. It states ¿there is no charge to vehicle owners for recall repairs performed by an authorized dealer. ¿� Ford has closed all of the Lincoln dealerships in the immediate san francisco area. The nearest Lincoln dealerships are an hour away during off-peak traffic hours. Forget it during peak traffic hours. When you get to the dealership, they have no loaner vehicle. They don't even have a rental on-site. You have to make your own arrangements someplace across town. My experience is that it took four returns to a dealership, each for a full day, to get one recall repair performed. My car is currently under recall for: gas tank problems, steering column problems, and I understand air bags. That doesn't include the computer system that has never worked, that Lincoln was unable to repair when the dealerships were in the bay area. Writing to the Lincoln motor company, customer relationship center is probably as big a waste of time as writing this letter.

On 10/09/14, while parked, the vehicle was started and then all systems and engine went totally off. This happened for the first time two weeks ago while driving which was reported. The same fuse that was changed two weeks ago was again changed and then the vehicle performed normal again. This was again reported to our mechanic who has a long history of working on Lincoln cars.

The technician repaired the chip and wanted the contact to drive for a week to determine if the remedy worked. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Our car has not been recalled by Ford or NHTSA. Numerous requests over the last (2) years have not returned a response. Why is cars from the same year being considered and not ours? is their safety more important than ours? why are we being ignored by the establishment? this is outright discrimination. . . . . We have spent $1200. For the passenger airbag inflator, only to find out we need the driver side inflator also for it to work. Where are the parts? why hasn't foqrd made these parts available? they have neglected our safety. . . . . We can not even carry our grand children in our vehicle because of this . Where's the justice in this? this same situation applies for my 2005 Dodge ram pickup, again no parts available. Why don't you just replace them with takata-inflator, like we have now, if it lasts (10) more years,at least we'll be safe. . . Does anyone in washington do their jobs anymore? maybe it's time for new leadership, and not the democratic do nothing party. . . You have had (8) years, for heavens sake , get moving. . . .

We have contacted Ford motor company and they still refuse to do a recall on our 2005-Lincoln Town Car. ,why is this not being fixed? we have spent $1200 dollars to locate the problem and have one seat belt replaced,and airbag inflator. After replacing one side, the other side now needs replacing,which there was not another part available. So now it's all disconnected,and all we have for safety is the seat belts,which Ford said that would be safe enough. I find this unacceptable by this company and will never buy another Ford product. . . Why hasn't your organization done something to secure our safety? we can't even take the grand-kids in our car ,because of this safety -hazard. We have filled a complaint with your organization last year,when is this going to be rectified ? please notify us as to what you are going to do about this? help!.

1999 Lincoln Town Car with 71,932 miles suddenly and without any warning caught fire ten minutes after being parked in an attached garage. This incident caused the home to become structurally damaged due to fire. Vehicle was purchased as second owner in 2003 until present time. No recalls notices were ever received.

I was driving my daughter to school when I noticed the inside of my car started sparking near the dashboard then a few mins later my wheel locked up I couldn't turn and almost crashed. I put power steering fluid in but that didn't help . Also had someone look at it and they said its a problem with the bearing underneath the hood is also sparking when I start the car.

The cruise control module stopped working on my vehicle and now I'm told it can't be replaced. Subsequently, the radio & a/c stopped working. This cruise control module had to be replaced because of it's ability to spontaneously combust the car in flames as it did on my 1996 Lincoln Town Car. Why doesn't the government enforce the recall laws?.

Serious safety issue. No or intermittent exterior lighting at night. Defective (lcm) lighting control module. Ford recall called (customer satisfaction program) "14no1" indicates defective lighting control module controlling exterior headlamps, parking lamps, front side marker, rear tail, license plate lighting may be intermittent or inoperative. E-mail sent to all u. S. Ford Lincoln/Mercury dealers referencing 2003 2004 2005 2006 model year crown victoria and grand marquis vehicles with an extended coverage period on this part of 15 years or 250,000 miles. Current owned and operated vehicle 2001 Lincoln Town Car built on the same platform with same internal parts. Lighting control module is defective causing no or intermittent exterior lighting. Approached Ford dealer and was informed vehicle part was under factory recall. Contacted Ford Lincoln customer service directly and was informed recall was vehicle VIN specific and no further help or financial assistance will be provided. This unit is the same part used through the above-mentioned model year vehicles, but I cannot obtain any assistance. Part is also obsolete and cannot be purchased through Ford. The vehicle was parked during the first occurrence, now daily occurrence with intermittent or no exterior lighting. Please help!.

2 occasions where ball joint snapped and vehicle was moving and fell to ground . While my child was inside . Major electrical issues such odometer flashes constantly and gas gage wacked out ever since vehicle fell to ground every thing was working properly before and on the first incident is when it started and continues to get worse. Suspension and steering : also since car fell to ground has cause steering and suspension to be almost impossible . I have had several mechanics rip me off and have spent thousands on trying to get vehicle back to the way a Lincoln should drive . And still the results are not good. I cant drive on express ways because vehicle is extremely hard to control and stay in lanes . As well on side streets/main roads . It also has a very high tendency to loose control when driving over a small , medium or large bump, div-it or crack in road which could or will eventually result in a crash. By all means I love my 1999 Lincoln but certainly does not drive or operate properly like one should . I do also understand that its a 13 year old car and things will go wrong but after do my research and being that I am naive and very uneducated with mechanics on a vehicle I simply let this pass for sometime now to realize these re occurring incidents are not normal and here I am now my results are a damaged car with recall supported and thousands of my hard income to replace parts on car to get back to proper working order . Something should be done or if possible be settled in the middle/halfway which would be fair. I hope I can be a true Ford Lincoln supporter/buyer for ever and don't want to be disappointed.

On the previous day I had replaced the left side low beam headlight bulb twice which did not fix the problem. Thought it would be a simple fix for a burnt out bulb. Turns out the origional bulb was not bad at all. Took car to dealer for diagnostic check. Problem turned out to be a lighting module ($659. 25 part) not repairable, that had to be programed ($239. 63 fee) by dealer before being reinstalled. This module also affected my brake lights which I was told were not working. If I had been out on the road when this occured instead of my local traffic area I think it could have been a safety issue. I feel this would have been a safety situation since I never knew my brake lights were not working and also not being able to get my headlight to work. What if both headlights had gone out while I was driving at highway speed because of this module. This situation also put me as car owner into the position of not being able to fix a simple headlight problem and turning it into a major car repair ($905. 61 bill). I feel the use of modules to control headlight lighting is a major safety issue. It should not cost nine-hundred dollars to fix a headlight problem. I foresee down the road a whole lot vehicles with these modules having no lights. So much for the modern era. Give me the old style electrical system with just wire and fuzes. Part fmc 7w1z 13c788 a processor - lighting.

The problem diagnosis was for the left front seat belt pretensioner ( driver's side). A Lincoln dealer service employee said the airbag will not work with this problem. At another Lincoln dealership I was told many 2006 towncars had the same problem. It started beeping at 122,000 miles and I was not involved in a crash. A Ford employee told me last year's supplier went out of business, so they had to change the manufacturer for the new part. The price went from $150. 00 for the pretensioner to $360. 00 for the kit (from the new manufacturer), which is the only thing you can get to fix the problem, even though you don't need a new seat belt, buckle, etc. Because of the additional installation costs ($200. 00 to $330. 00), many people may not be able to afford the fix, putting their lives at risk as well as their passenger's.
