While driving down a mountain, the engine went into an uncontroled speed. It was if someone floored the gas and the engine screamed. The brakes did not work, nor did the emergency brake. The only was to slow it down some was to put it in neutral. When put into drive again, we fishtailed the car. Finally, my husband, turned the car off. Each time we went up a hill we slowed down but not enough to stop, then would pick up speed when we hit another hill. After several miles my husband, when there wasn't a gully, drove on the side in dirt and high grass to slow us down. Finally, just before we crested another hill, he was able to pull over more and stop. This doesn't even describe how horrible it was. We didn't think we were going to die, we knew we were, but weren't sure if we'd go over a cliff or into trees. We still don't know how we pulled it off. Needless to say, I'm angry that we had brought the car in 5 weeks before for the same problem, but on flat road, and they found nothing wrong with the car. I have been informed that the nemith motors found out by calling the manufacurer, that this had been a problem. Had they known 5 weeks before this, they would not have given back our car to us. I would like any report that this has happened to others, and hope their experience turned out as well as ours.

After driving for a while parked vehicle. Then, without a warning vehicle caught on fire where the safety service was performed the week before.

Parked vehicle at shopping mall, abot 30 minutes later vehicle would not start. After several attempts to start driver decided to wait a few minutes to allow possible careburetor floodinh to return to normal. Waited five minutes before attempring to start. This time vehicle started. A few days later while driving into parking area discovered steering wheel would not respond to turning. Put gear shift into neutral and attempted to restart. Vehicle restarted.

When coming from a secondary highway to a main highway, if there is a little gravel and the traction engages the engine dies. The dealer is not able to correct the problem.

The brakes drag/ pull/ squeak/stick and they are just like rubber when stepping on them, this is on normal road condtions. The system has abs. Consumer statess the engine will stop running frequently, dealer states there is not a problem.

Vehicle fire.

Engine cuts out, track active light comes on, no response to accelerator until car has coasted below 25 mph -- caused by replacement michelin tires being 1. 5" larger than original michelin tires.

While driving vehicle would not exceed the 10mph mark, even in open road situations. Dealer has been contacted.

The 2000 Lincoln car I own the engine consume excess oil the dealer states a quart of oil used every 900 miles driven is within specification the dealer manual states the oil should be changed every 5000 miles is their a problem with the 4. 6 liter engine in this car.

While driving engine cut off. Also, electrical instrument panel failed. Dealer has vehicle.

When driving under 10mph or when coming to a stop vehicle cuts completely off. Dealer has seen vehicle 3 times, but no solution was found.
