Defogger Problems of Mazda CX-5

I don't recall the exact date, but it was during the winter of 2013/2014 (I think it was the 1/30/14 snow storm). The snow was coming down heavy and wet and my defroster and wipers could not keep the window clear of ice build up as I was driving to work. The ice build up started in the lower left corner and quickly built its way upwards where it was covering the window in my line of site. As it built up higher, I struggled to see clearly out of the window. My speed driving to work this day probably ranged from 30 to 35 that day. I have never experienced this with any other car and hoped this was a one time deal. I live in a snowy state and need to defrosters and wipers to work. I learned of this website today and saw another person had the same issue so I am inclined to think this is a problem with the car.

On multiple occasions over the winter, when temperatures were below freezing and snow was present on the car and it was snowing, it was impossible to clear the front windshield of all precipitation and the front windshield would ice over as the windshield wipers worked. Snow would accumulate in the area below the windshield/at the top edge of the front hood. The defrosters are set down below the bottom of the windshield and seemed to contribute to the icing problem. I had to pull over multiple times in short distances to clear my windshield, but in certain cold conditions the ice would be incredibly difficult to remove as the wipers were adding moisture and thickening the film of ice; this condition makes for incredibly difficult and dangerous winter driving.
