1 Abs Brake Fail problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/04/2019

2010 Mazda 3. In an emergency highway incident I was forced to brake and the brakes went to the floor, but I avoided a collision by swerving out of danger. After the incident, the brakes would not effectively stop the car leading me to conclude the brakes needed replacing. No warning lights came on. I took it to the dealership for repair. I was advised that the abs module failed and eventually the brakes would fail to stop the car. The braking system has been properly maintained since the car was bought new in 2010. Further research revealed that this issue has been known by Mazda for several years and a TSB was issued. As this is a significant safety issue, a recall should have been issued since the abs system is critical to the safe operation of a vehicle. Unfortunately, Mazda has not deemed a potential, complete failure of the braking system to be a significant enough issue to order a recall. The failure has nothing to do with driver use but is due to a faulty system as this component should typically last the life of the vehicle or at least longer than 53000 miles and limited driving.

2 Abs Brake Fail problem of the 2008 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/09/2018

I was driving on a 30 mph road near my apartment and when I went to brake while moving, the brakes failed on my Mazda 3. I was pressing the brakes and then all of the sudden the pedal went to the floor and the car continued rolling. Luckily the car was not going fast and was able to roll to a stop with just the hand brake. My car only has 104,000 miles on the odometer. There were no lit up indicators on the dashboard and no warning signs before the catastrophic failure. Based on my trip to two mechanics and the dealership, the abs unit failed and allowed air into the system which causes a catastrophic loss of brakes without warning. This is a serious and potentially deadly flaw that I believe Mazda should pay in full to remedy. This seems to be a common safety problem in Mazda cars from about 2004 to 2016 based on my research. I found multiple other sources that had the same problem.

3 Abs Brake Fail problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 01/06/2015

Abs failure, light came on in early 2015. Problems w/garden city Mazda dealer & service w/shotty business practices, so never went back to any Mazda dealer for service. Did all the required service since purchased new in 2010 until now. Have been in contact w/Mazda japan, USA, & stevenson Mazda in jacksonville, nc where my daughter drives said Mazda everyday w/her sons, 4 months & 2. 5 years old. The abs system light indicates a faulty system & this vehicle has been determined to have the faulty part. Mazda japan/USA said they would pay 50% of part cost & stevenson Mazda in jacksonville, nc would pay 50% total cost=$600 of $1200. Family tire & auto service, who alerted us of problem on 12/28/2015 (outside of warranty) would repair for $800. Since this is a safety hazard , disables abs system, it should have been a recall not a tbs & all consumers would have been notified!!! have all paperwork from all on this hazard & know there are many of these vehicles on our nation's roads w/same hazard. Need your immediate attention & help to resolve this matter so we consumers are protected from the auto industry. Yours, bill satterlee too many files to upload but can send or fax?.

4 Abs Brake Fail problem of the 2008 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/18/2008

After driving on snow covered road, abs warning light comes on and abs is non-operational. The abs would resume function after at least 30-45 min of driving. Dealer stated that snow became trapped in abs sensor but problem cannot be resolved. Abs failure occurred 3-4 times over the past winter when abs was essential.
