1 Brake Light On problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 11/06/2020

Had my abs and brake lights come on so I immediately looked these up in my Mazda handbook. It said to have the brakes checked right away. I took to my mechanic who has been working on my car for years and I trust him. He told me it was the dsc module and it would need to be taken to the dealer. He also told me it would be an expensive repair. I contacted my local dealer and will now be charged $150 for them to tell me the same thing my mechanic did. I did some research and found this to be a safety issue that many other Mazda owners have complained about. I think this is unfair to us that no recall has been done or that this repair is so expensive. I have taken very good car of my vehicle and now I don't have the money to pay for this expensive repair.

3 Brake Light On problem of the 2008 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/17/2018

The vehicle when in motion attempting to brake has soft brakes that when engaged, the brake pedal moves to aprox. 1 inch from the floor. The brakes only slightly engage, however, if needed the abs system and the braking ability is hindered when hard stopping. The rotors and pads were replaced, and the brake lines bled hoping to solve the issue. Yet, further diagnostics show that the abs control module is faulty.

7 Brake Light On problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

Back in oct of 2015 my abs and dsc lights would come on an go off for no reason. As of December 2016 the lights have remained on. I replaced the speed sensors in each wheel, checked the tone rings, tested the wiring for breaks, tested the brake light switch, I have nothing left to check other than the abs systems. I recently had my clutch replaced on my 2010 Mazda 3 s by Mazda, while performing the work I asked if the technician could tell me what the problem was, I was told that the abs pump was bad, was not told if it was the computer module or the hyd pump motor or valve body. Based on the symptoms, I am assuming that the control module is bad. I found that there are TSB's on this problem with many complaints by other 2010 Mazda 3 owners. 9 Brake Light On problem of the 2007 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 11/04/2014

A few months after we bought our Mazda 3 we noticed the bulbs blew out well come to find out our lenses were melting and it got so hot the socket and bulb burst so we took it to the place we bought it and they warrantied them out well guess what the tail lenses we got replaced melted again and blew out the bulbs. We took our car to Mazda and the technicians found nothing wrong, no ground problem. Well we took it back to the place we bought it thinking they'd be able to warranty them out since they're less than a year well the lady wouldn't do it. Now I am stuck with my spoiler brake light and the passenger. So we decided to replace the brake switch and so far our passenger side hasn't blown out. I suggest replacing it and seeing what happens. It is a $30 part. Tonight I am buying new lenses and praying. I went through 4 bulbs in the driver and 3 bulbs in passenger. I need help figuring this out because $8 for a pack of bulbs every week is ridiculous.

10 Brake Light On problem of the 2007 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 03/07/2014

The brake light housing (amber lens) was heated by the bulb to such a degree that the lens itself melted onto the bulb. We are not entirely sure when this happened and may have been ongoing for quite some time. Upon inspection by an experienced automotive technician, it was confirmed that the bulbs were the correct model and had been installed correctly. Some of the plastic had melted down onto the bulb itself and could potentially become a fire hazard. This problem impacted both driver and passenger sides, with the driver side appearing more significantly melted. After a quick search on Mazda forums, this appears to be an issue experienced by many owners of 2007 Mazda 3 models, but only those in the hatchback configuration.

11 Brake Light On problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 09/23/2013

I was driving to work. Road was wet. Vehicle gets in front of me and I had to turn quick to avoid hitting this vehicle. I lost control, luckily no one was injured. I know dsc is not supposed to replace a safe driver, but in an emergency situation like this it should of at least helped me out. It turned completely off. The dsc light came on permanently as well as the abs light and the brake light. After turning the vehicle off then back on the lights came off. When I took the car to the Mazda dealer and was completely ignored by the service department as to the system having any problem at all. So I decide to go to an empty parking lot and tried to repeat the same emergency situation I was and indeed the system failed again. I went back to the Mazda dealer and showed them, and apparently the only solution to them is replace the dsc module. This would of been suficient for me if the system wasn't $700, and since my vehicle has 50000 miles on it and I no longer have their initial warranty effective, then it's a must strive situation. The only reason I'm complaining is because of the poor quality of this system, the hazardous situation it could compromise Mazda drivers and others around them, and the fact that Mazda is ignoring this despite thousands of customers complaining.

12 Brake Light On problem of the 2008 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 01/15/2009

While turning through an intersection on an extremely cold day (below -10 degrees fahrenheit) driver depresses brakes on an icy surface. Ant-ilock braking system fails and vehicle begins to handle unexpectedly. Brake warning light and abs warning light illuminate. After ~2 miles of driving, system still inactive. Driver pulls over and shuts off vehicle for 30 seconds. When vehicle is restarted, only the abs warning light still active. After braking in safe location, abs system activates, and warning light goes off. Dealer investigation states that the malfunction is likely caused by extreme low temperatures. No corrective action taken.
