2 Wiring problem of the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/18/2017

My car started shaking and I lost control of the steering. I pulled over as best I could and called a tow truck. The dealership says that rats have chewed through the engine harness and other wiring. They say they have seen dozens of cases in brooklyn and queens just like this. They said that rats are attracted to the coating on the wires. Mazda won't issue a recall or repair the wiring. It is a fire hazard and dangerous to drive. I guess they are waiting for someone to be injured or die before they fix it? my car is 18 months old with 7,062 miles. I was parked on a city street in brooklyn and had only driven 3 blocks without making any turns when I had to pull over. My car is located at koeppel Mazda 718-721-9100. They should have all of the details of the damage if you need it. I drive the car almost every day and it is parked on a different street every day. There is no way to know when or which street this happened on.

3 Wiring problem of the 2006 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/21/2015

Part 2 -(cont. ) complaint filed on 8/21/15 (arfc/NHTSA id 10750380) (denise from arfc ref 902722). Letters from my vehicle manufacturer providing necessary repair information etc. I am adding these complaints to my existing complaint, as during my initial diagnostic report, dated 8/24/15, I faxed and mailed to you, it states how my vehicle's air bag crash sensor is not working and is in the wrong position, which I had to decline to have fixed, as I am financially unavailable to pay for the repair cost. I feel this issue should also be addressed and covered as soon as possible due to the alarming above-mentioned e-mails I had received and believe that those issues are clearly related. And 3. (part 1) unknown/or other: as a result of having my power steering issue repaired (initial complaint), I was told after the repair by a mr. Carleton at liberty Mazda, wakefield, MA, that when my right directional signal is turned on, it now continuously clicks extremely fast (code b2899 rt directional - est for directional wiring to just start to locate the issue is listed on the submitted diagnostic report is $220. 00) but that it shouldn't effect me getting a new car inspection sticker or anything, so I had to decline fixing due to cost. (this issue is also included in the original diagnostic report as well, that I have faxed and mailed to you. ) I am also unable to afford to have this issue fixed as well, and for the fact that this problem did not exist at all before I originally brought my vehicle in to have the power steering fixed and this issue appeared after that, this should be covered in full and fixed by manufacturer; 3. (part 2. ) continuous issue beginning roughly 3-4 weeks of purchase (bought brand new, not used): clock in vehicle is set to the proper time, but will only last a month maybe at very most before it changes auto and displays a random time.

5 Wiring problem of the 2004 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 09/15/2013

While driving on the freeway at 65 mph at night, my lower dash (radio, hvac) and steering wheel controls lighting went out for about ten minutes, and then came back on. This started happening intermittently from that point on, shutting off and coming back on randomly, with the lights being out continuously once for about 30 minutes while driving at night in traffic. The safety concern is that I just discovered the tail lights were also going out at the same time. Indications are that the cause is a defective passenger junction box (pjb). This is a serious safety issue and an unacceptable engineering flaw which appears to affect other drivers of this vehicle model as well. Due to prohibitive cost of jsb replacement and uncertainty of the integrity of that part itself, it may be necessary to install a failsafe independent wiring solution for the brake lights to ensure required reliability.

6 Wiring problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/09/2013

Vehicle lost power multiple times shuddering on the road. Faulty wiring harness was discovered by the dealership. This issue was present on previously produced Mazda 3s for the year but the dealership stated that this particular VIN didnt fall into the production numbers for the recall. This issue seems to be present on more cars than just the 25,000 that were recalled in 2009.

8 Wiring problem of the 2008 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/20/2008

Ever since I brought this car I’m having issues with my headlamps. I had replaced headlight bulbs atleast 15 times. Lamps will last roughly 3 to 6 months and then burnout. I complained many times to the dealership and they have no answer to the root cause other than simply changing the bulbs. I suspect there might be an issue in wiring. Many 2008 Mazda 3 owners are complaining similar issues on-line and websites.

9 Wiring problem of the 2007 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 03/11/2008

In March 2008, my vehicle had warning lights turn on for both the seat belt and abs system. The dealer cleared the code and checked the system for errors. No codes re-occurred and the car was returned to me. Subsequently in December 2008, the airbag light came on again. The dealer adjusted some wiring and cleared the light/code. Now in September 2011, the airbag light is on again.

10 Wiring problem of the 2005 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/02/2007

Recall was filed to the dept. Of transportation in japan as of Nov. 30th 2007 for the following reason. The tube material used in electrical wiring of motor is inappropriate. The tube loses it's intensity over the time and it could cause damage to the electrical wiring badly enough to stop the motor. Thus, the motor will not restart. Please investigate why it has not yet filed in the u. S. I have had very problem but the dealer could not take me seriously since it is not shown in their system in the u. S. Yet. I found this recall notice on Mazda japan(japanese only) website and also in many newspaper webs. However, nobody seems to be notified in the u. S.
