2 Brake Light On problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 01/01/2019

A year ago I took my car for a recall that had to do with the handbrake somehow rusting out where it sits in the rear brake calipers. They inspected the calipers and told me they had to order parts. I never received a call. The next time I went back I asked about it and they said it was fix. After the visit they recommended to replace the rear brake calipers. The vehicle is a manual and is to the point where the hand brake does not work at all. It runs the risk of rolling away if the transmission fails or it comes out of gear. It is clearly stated in NHTSA #17v-393 and I have called Mazda corporate who told me it doesn't have to do with the calipers ("your Mazda dealer will check the parking brake actuator shafts inside the left and right rear brake calipers. "). Mazda reference number 1-2080181118. Also because of the rust the handbrake is lose so if you use cruise control the handle can accidental pull up enough to ignite the handbrake light and make the car automatically turn off cruise control which is surprising and could cause the driver to crash.

3 Brake Light On problem of the 2016 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 06/04/2016

2016 Mazda 6 would just randomly enraged e-brake without you engaging it and would not release, parking brake and brake lights are on. Mazda said control module was malfunctioning. Mazda(bakersfield)refuses to fix it as error codes wouldn't show up when diagnosing it. Car was first diagnosed in florida where it originally happened and that was the finding control module malfunctioning.

4 Brake Light On problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 01/09/2014

The check brake light came on. I found that there was very little break fluid. I took the vehicle to my mechanic and he determined that there was a hole in the break line created when it rubbed up against the engine. He said it was a design flaw and recommended that we take the car to the Mazda dealership. The service manager was very understanding but could not make any judgment. He consulted with Mazda corporate. Corporate ruled that since it was not under warranty they were not responsible for replacement of the part. As a gesture of goodwill they paid for the part which was $73. 28, and charged me $405. 00 in labor to installation. To me, I would certainly like to get reimbursed my out of pocket expense. But more, so I would like to have this design flaw corrected so that someone doesn't killed when their brakes fail. I will be out of the country until Feb. 17th. Thank you.
