My Mazda was recalled due to air bag inflator that could explode resulting in sharp metal fragments striking the passenger or other vehicle occupants. When I called my Mazda dealer to get it in to be fixed I was told the parts are on back order at Mazda and they could not give me an eta on when they would get parts in. How can Mazda allow it's customers to continue driving their car with no recourse to give us a rental car in the meantime if they can't fix an issue that I would consider extremely serious and needing to be fixed immediately? my wife is pregnant and we have a toddler who rides in a carseat in the backseat and we now feel unsafe to drive our car. I would expect this matter to be taken much more seriously than it is. I'm very disappointed in Mazda and the way this recall is being handled.

Takata inflators: I received several recall notices (e. G. 16v-594, 13v425000, 11v134000, 09v043000) regarding my 2009 Mazda6 (1yvhp81a595m17242) and tracy Mazda conducted various repairs. During each repair, I mentioned the airbag inflator alert (see attachment). After service or repair was conducted, I was informed that the problem was reset or cleared by the mechanic. For a period of one week of commuting (home to work or vice versa), the inflator indicator disappeared. Then it returned, during short warm up, after driving a short distance, intermittently while driving on highways/freeways, etc. I returned the vehicle following the last recall/service-repair per receipts notation, I was informed that I have to pay $85 for diagnosis fee because the air inflator indicator is not a part of the foregoing problem. If indeed the necessary repairs were done right, should my vehicle airbag inflator indicator would indicate a warning? is resetting the airbag inflator indicator the "real" solution to the problem?.

Driver air bag inflator final repair notice - safety recall 8215f. I took my vehicle when I received the first notice and went to jim falk Mazda in kahului, maui, hawaii and they told me sorry we don't have the part to replace yet but will call me when it comes in and that was about a year ago. Now I received the 2nd and final notice and I called two days ago to the same place and again they told me they were going to look into it and call me back. Well no call back yet and I am getting very upset that they don't feel that this is important to call people back to fix this important problem. Being that the airbag is important you would think that they would order the part ASAP and call you to come in and have it replaced.

Takata recall-we bought a Mazda 6 gran touring car in 2010, VIN# 1yvhz8cb3a5m47179. It currently has only 65,060 miles. On July 2016 we received a notice that Mazda corp. Decided that a passenger air bag inflator defect exists in our car and that there was a safety recall especially for cars in central florida because of consistent high humidity. In August we took the car to jenkins Mazda in ocala where we bought it. They said that they would try to expedite the replacement because it would be dangerous to drive. In September the replacement still had not come so they asked us to store the car with them. Our car was there at the jenkins Mazda car lot for more than 3 months. We did not use the car because we were afraid to drive it. Aaa came to the house and tested the battery and they concluded that because it was not used for several months the battery needed to be replaced. However, we noticed that the navigation screen was giving a message a program cannot be read. Please consult dealer. we called jenkins and they said comeback and while replacing the air bag part they would fix the navigation screen. On January 17 2017 the part was replaced, but they couldn't fix the navigation screen. They then said that they would talk to their service rep in jacksonville about it. On February 10 after trading many phone calls with the jenkins service mgr. In ocala, he said that after talking to his service rep in jacksonville the rep felt the screen is our responsibility and they wouldn't repair it but instead put a new one in for $5500. I feel that the whole situation started with Mazda's defective air bag and the car being unused and inactive for almost 4 months sitting on the jenkins Mazda lot in ocala. A new battery had to be installed because the car sat on their lot a long time larry & donnah ross (352) 233 1479 9541 se 124th loop, summerfield, FL 34491.
Takata recall - the airbag inflator in my vehicle was recalled on 1/9/17. Over 6 months later, the part is still not available for my vehicle. My family cannot utilize our family vehicle as designed due to the lack of timely availability of the part by takata or a solution by Mazda.
Takata inflators, I called the Mazda dealership to get this repaired but I never got a call back and I have tried 2 or 3 times and nothing. They won't even return my calls.

2006 Mazda 6. Consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair passenger frontal airbag inflator recall notice.
Takata recall, over a year ago I did have a airbag recall for my inflator , which was for my Mazda 6 2007, I did have one of them replaced, not sure if it was the passenger side or the driver side now, but only one was replaced at the time because that was all that was recalled at that time, the dealer told me I would have to wait for the other side to be recall, so what if I had a accident in the meantime? the other airbag wouldn't work, because it hadn't been replaced? not very good! the dealer didn't seem to thrilled with the whole inflator recall thing and didn't have very good things to say about it, which made me worry about if the darn thing would work at all! well not too long after I got the second recall note for the other side inflator to be fixed I was in a car accident! great! well, I was hit from behind at 70mph, the car was hit on the right side and I was thrown into a spin, now, I was not hit in the front, nor did I actually hit dead on in the front of anything! but my windshield was cracked. My right side airbag did deploy and save me from a massive head injury! the car did as it was designed to do in a backend collision, it folded up, the back end took the blunt of the 70mph force, and saved me! I walked out of the car! but the car was totaled! my only question and it was a question of a few other people. . . Was why did not the front end air bad deploy? was it not supposed to? because it had not been it hit hard enough? or because it needed to be replaced? not sure? all I can say is that thank goodness in a way I got hit from behind and not in the front, because I am not so sure if I could of depended on the front airbags working correctly! so my accident may have had a totally different outcome!.

Hello: there has been 2 recalls on my vehicle, both regarding airbag. The sas unit recall has been without a remedy since August 2016. The second recall regarding airbag inflator has been without a remedy since January 2017. For such serious safety recalls, I am disappointed that there has been no remedy for almost a year.
Takata recall we live in simpsonville SC which has very high humidity and high temperatures. We have already received two recall notices from Mazda concerning the airbag recall. We believe that getting the replacement parts is taking too long and that we should have already had the parts replaced. Mazda is continuing to build new vehicles using parts that are not faulty while we continue to drive a vehicle that could cause death if we are involved in an accident and the airbags would deploy. We would like NHTSA to require Mazda to divert a larger portion of the new airbag parts from new vehicle production to the replacement of inflators for existing customers.
Takata inflators. We are a one car family and our Mazda airbag was slated to be repaired in November but we still haven't received any info when the parts are going to be available. We couldn't even take our car on our honeymoon in November of this year. I know of other companies such as Honda who are renting cars for there customers and Mazda isn't even reaching out to our family but they are still taking our monthly payment. I know we aren't the only family affected by this but this is taking way too long and inconveniencing us in a bad way. Please look into this. We are concerned and frustrated by the lack of answers.
Currently, I have been waiting for a replacement dashboard for the last two years. The right side of my dash board is melted. Apparently it is a factory defect in my model car. Two years ago the dealership took pictures, sent in the claim, and I started waiting. Since then I have received at least two letters to update me to the fact that the part still is not available. So I continue to drive around with a melted dash board, which by the way is a sticky mess. Now, as if to add insult to injury, I have received a notice that my passenger air bag inflator needs to be replaced. Yet again, the part is unavailable and I will someday receive notification when the part is available. Even more outrageous is that the letter says, "until this repair is performed, do not allow passengers to ride in the front passenger seat. It has been months and still no letter concerning the part being corrected.

I received the safety recall letter dated 07/2015 for the driver air bag inflator interim repair- safety recall 7914j NHTSA campaign no. 15v-345 & 15v-382. I went to Mazda dealership to have repair done, I was told that part had to be ordered and was told that part would be in on October 1st, on October 2nd I went to get my car repaired and was told that part was never ordered and that was just a "prompt" letter, and not to worry about it. But I am sending this complaint because I am very concern. I would like for something to be done about getting my car fixed. . . . Thanks.

2004 Mazda6. Consumer writes in regards to driver airbag inflator replacement recall notice issues. The consumer stated it has been 90 days since he received the recall letter and no one has contacted him to bring the vehicle in to have it repaired. Recall # 14v344000.
I received a recall notice on February 17 that the air bag inflator needs to be replaced because it is among the millions of takata air bags that could explode into shrapnel and injure or kill the driver, two months later, I'm still waiting for parts to come, and Mazda says it has no idea how soon parts will be available. This leaves me driving a car that is potentially dangerous -- even fatal. Worse, we want to sell this car, which leaves me with two options: don't tell prospective buyers about the recall, which puts them at risk because of a sin of omission on my part,or go ahead and tell them about the air bag issue and greatly diminish my chances of selling the car (and/or reduce the value). I guess my best option is to keep my mouth shit and sell the car to a dealer because they are not required by law to disclose that there are unfixed safety recalls on used vehicles. Anyone buying a used car should keep this in mind and check to see if there any open recalls.
Upset - called Mazda months ago regarding the driver's air bag inflator recall and was told vehicle was not part of the recall. This is a car that my daughter and 4 year old grandson drive around in. Now yesterday I receive in the mail (car registered in my name) recall notice for this car - air bag. I called both Mazda dealers in my area and neither one of them have the parts to fix this recall. This whole situation is very upsetting. I cannot believe given the serious implications of a possible deployment we have had to wait so long to get notification and the dealers do not have the parts !!!.
Takata recall I believe- received Feb 2015 driver bag inflator replacement-safety recall-no parts available received July 2015 driver air bag inflator interim repair-no parts available 5+ months is excessive time to wait for parts.
My Mazda6 driver front air bag inflator is hazardous, potentially deadly, recalled nearly 5 months ago and still no replacement part is available. This is my only form of transportation and I am risking my own life as well as passengers every time I drive the car. I live in a high humidity, high risk state (GA) for these faulty inflators and need replacement and saftey reassurance ASAP!.
There are two recalls open for my vehicle and for none there are no parts available in any dealer. My Mazda 6 2010 has a passenger air bag inflator recall and a melter dashboard recall. Both create safety hazards for me and my family yet the melted dashboard has been an issue for over two years and I am still awaiting from Mazda the second letter they promised to send me to take the vehicle to repair. The rubber or plastic that is melting is converting into a glue like substance that gets on my cloth seats and worst of all, in my windshield which causes glare and disrupts my vision. I end up having to remove it with other material that causes my windshield to become sticky. The material ends up in my steering wheel resulting in additional safety issues. I have tried to sell the car but no one will buy it in that condition. I have been patient for two years but at this point it is unreasonable the amount of time that I had to wait. I own another Mazda but fortunately it has not had similar issues. The situation is abusive and should have been resolved already. If Mazda cannot fix it in a timely manner they should be providing a replacement vehicle temporarily due to the safety concerns. I just contacted ocean Mazda in miami and the service dept. Confirms that they still do not have the parts for both recalls. It is insulting! I am sending an email flash to 21,000 + service providers that the company that I work for has in their data base so that they become aware of the issue and stay away from Mazda and their vehicles.
I have a 2006 Mazda 6 with a VIN in the recall range, except I live in michigan so it is not recalled. My inflator will continue to degrade, at a slower rate than those in high humid areas, but it will eventually get to the point where it will have taken in enough moisture to disassemble when deployed. I want this taken care of before it blows up. The supplier has demonstrated an unwillingness to acknowledge it has a problem. No one seems to be concerned that a supplemental safety device can do more harm than good. Ask those involved in the industry and you will get a common response that "death" is not an acceptable failure effect. There is probably a pretty damn good reason no other airbag inflator manufacturer uses ammonium nitrate in their propellant formulations. Inflators leak. Always do and always will. You cannot keep the moisture out indefinately. And I definately do not want to wait until more innocents are killed or maimed by these devices before mine too is recalled.
Waited months for dealer to repair recalled air bag inflator. Have not been contacted. Car may have been driven in high humid areas as it was originally a rental.
