Had recall for defective airbags. Took vehicle to dealer and they replaced both drivers side and passenger side air bags. I have received second recall notice to have the passenger side replaced again as the one they originally replaced it with is defective to. If the passenger side is defective then so the drivers side is to. Want to know why drivers side isn't going to be replaced.

On July 18, 2018 I was in frontal impact accident. While driving on a city street. I was alone and driving I did not have a phone in my possession or in the car at that time. The vehicle that hit me was traveling at least 40 miles an hour. The upper and side airbags did not deflate, the front airbag deflated sideways and missed my face completely. My torso hit the steering wheel and my sternum was fractured. My right ankle was bruised, scraped and sprained. Because of the severe pain I was in, I was not able to get out of the vehicle on my own. I carried out of the vehicle and laid on the grass. I was taken by ambulance in severe pain and could not stand or sit up I was diagnosed with a fractured sternum and sprained right ankle. Car is totaled $11,000. 00 worth of damage. I have not been able to work in 3 weeks because of the severity of the fracture on my sternum.

Takata recall there have been two recalls in the last few months on the front passenger airbag of my car. They "fixed" both problems but are still telling me my passenger side airbag won't work in an accident without me paying $500 for them to replace a third part of the airbag system. It is clear to me this entire passenger side airbag is faulty and if they are messing with the lives of their consumers by extorting safety for money when they know the flaw is in their own installation/parts they are an unethical brand. It seems more likely that they are insisting on this purchase in exchange for safety so they can make back some of the money that the previous recalls have cost them. Either way, the recall needs to be expanded to include whatever additional components might be damaged due to Mazda. It is not feasible that three components of my passenger seat airbag have gone wrong in the last few months but the only two under recall were not the issue. They are telling me the current issue requires an replacement of the entire air bag module.

Severe concussion with memory loss. I was driving north on mopac expressway in austin, texas at 58mph. The person who hit me said he was changing lanes & did not see me. Car was totaled.

Takata recall - I just received a recall notice on our 2007 Mazda 6 passenger side airbags. The notice said that no solution was available yet. And, they suggest no one ride or sit in the passenger seat while driving. Are you serious? I appreciate the late safety notice and their liability coverage by burying that statement on the back page of a business letter, however, what about offering us consumers options? 1. Disable the passenger side airbag at our choice and their expense until a replacement part can be installed at their expense? 2. Subsidizing the cost of a safe rental car until ours is safe to drive? 3. Paying us full value on our used vehicle in exchange for the sale of another vehicle that is safe to drive. I have called the dealer ship and none of these or any options are available to the consumer. The car is rendered useless and of zero value at the moment. Moreover, if anyone sits in the passenger seat and we get in a real accident, the run the risk of more injury, pain, and suffering due to the airbag than the accident. If you look at the numbers, I believe wearing your seatbelt properly provides the highest percentage of safety in an impact. It sounds to me like this airbag is a defective part that can cause hurt either inside or outside of an accident. It needs to be removed and disabled from the vehicle right away. At the very least, this notice should say, bring it in and we'll remove it or disable it ASAP.

Takata recall for over a year I have been contacting Mazda to replace my passenger and driver side airbags. They have continously told me the replacement, which is again being manufactured by takata, is not yet available. With the significant risk of death or injury my current airbags pose to myself and my passenger I feel this issue should have been resolved in a timely manner. If Mazda is unable to replace my airbags I feel I should be provided a rental car until they are able to replace them.

The driver side airbag ruptured. I was driving down a1a in hallandale beach, FL. Three lanes of traffic had just merged to two and traffic was flowing perfect going 25 mph. The car that was two in front of me stopped dead for no reason causing the car in front of me to stop. I hit my brakes but couldn't stop in time and rear ended the other car. There was a loud explosion and the next thing I remember I was sitting in my car staring at the center of my steering console. The airbag was no where to be seen. The airbag has completely dislodged from the steering column. After searching for it I found it between the drivers door and the seat. It has caused cuts and burns on both of my arms as well as the left side of my face. The emt's told me I was lucky I had large glasses on as they probably kept me from getting hit in the eye. I also am suffering from hearing problems since the explosion of the airbag. My right hear has partial hearing with moderate ringing and pain, my left ear sounds like I'm sitting in a field of crickets. It makes horrible cracking and shrill whistling sounds. I am going to see my ear doctor tomorrow. The rest of me is sore but ok. I think this issue needs to be looked at as there was definitely too much pressure in the airbag. I have pictures of the steering column showing how the airbag was gone except a small piece of you need them. I am going to see my car later today and am hoping to get the airbag to keep in case you need it. Also, the car is registered in my husband's name timothy scanlon just for you fyi.
I was driving on northbound 71 near louisville, ky when a vehicle entered the freeway and cut me off. I avoided a collision with him but the vehicle behind me hit me multiple times in multiple locations, spinning me across the freeway. One was a side impact hit which forced my head into the driver's side window, breaking it. I had six airbags in my 2006 Mazda 6 and none of them deployed. The rates of speed being traveled were at approximately 55 miles per hour. I was harmed but not enough to warrant a lawsuit according to lawyers, yet my equipment failed to protect me in my vehicle. My vehicle is now totaled as well.
I was driving the morning of 6/8/10 on my way to work. There was a car going to pass me on a illinois rte 161 road. I slowed down for courtesy of the passer and I caught loose gravel on the hard road. Instantly I knew not to over correct and try to ease out of it. I end up barrel rolling aprox 80+ feet down a steep reveen. No air bags deployed. My 2008 Mazda 6 is equipped with side curtain airbags, which are roll over protection safety feature. As quoted on a internet site. I rolled aprox 4-6 times.
A truck was traveling down a secondary mining road while my car was traveling up the road when the driver of car realized the truck was going to hit him he moved over on side trying to avoid accident . Truck hit driver side jamming front and back doors. (t-boned) neither the curtain or side airbag deployed. No life threatening injuries occurred the driver of car jumped over in passenger seat.
The first failure occurred in July 2007. The vehicle was involved in a driver's side impact crash on the highway. Neither of the side curtain airbags deployed, but there were no injuries during this incident, only property damage to the entire driver's side of the vehicle from the back bumper to the front bumper. There was nothing done to investigate the potential failure of the airbag deployment. The second failure occurred in July of 2009. The vehicle was involved in a direct side to the driver's side of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle sustained an injury to their back, left ribs, and head. The driver's side airbags failed to deploy during the accident. The body shop that was responsible for repairing the damage said that they could not determine whether or not the airbags should have deployed and whether or not there was any malfunction with the airbags. The vehicle manufacturer was contacted and they said they could not provide that type of information to determine whether or not the airbags should have deployed and there was a malfunction. The driver of the vehicle is still being treated for all injuries sustained during the accident.
Mazda 6 sedan 2007 this car was purchased in oklahoma oct 2007 with 14,000 miles & is on the 2nd owner. Which is me. I am in a dispute with Mazda because the rear side air bag is defective. The vehicle gets an on board lamp stating that the air bag has been deactivated. The car has been into the dealership 11 times since 1st occurance was discovered may 2008. I'm requesting a buy back/lemon law. I am getting denied by the dealer & Mazda. I have children & feel all safety features should work. The car now has 81k miles & dealer has not charged me for this at all. But I feel it's a safety issue & should not be on the road. I have all documents & in the process of filing this with bbb autoline. If anyone with this agency would like info let me know. This is a safety hazard & unfortunate that the dealer/manufacturer can turn their back on this. Thanks,.
Neither side or front airbags deployed in accident. This car was rear ended at 45 mph and then pushed into a guard rail, causing damage to the front and rear of the car.
: the contact owns a 2005 Mazda 6. While driving 25 mph in normal conditions, the left frontal side curtain airbags deployed without incident. The airbag light did not illuminate at any time. There was no crash or obvious road hazard. The contact was wearing a seatbelt, but sustained minor injuries as a result of the airbag deployment. The police were contacted and a report was taken. The vehicle was towed to the dealership for further inspection. The dealership discovered a hole in the plastic cover in the front of the undercarriage, there were also small scratcheson the drivers side rail frame. The impact was most likely from 2 weeks prior. Updated 03/03/06.
Vehicle was in an accident. Owner was driving at approximately 5 mph while turning at an intersection, the oncoming vehicle was going about 45 mph, and t-boned the owners vehicle. Upon impact, the side air bags failed to deploy.
