Alignment is off. Recall for my type of call for the control arm weakening and causing wheel alignment problems. Why isn't mine part of recall??.

The contact owns a 2010 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently veered to the left. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle became difficult to steer. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine cradle had failed and was severely rusted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

Completely rusted rear crossmember subframe.

The front beam crossmember sub k frame of this vehicle has failed due to corrosion. This has resulted in a loss of steering control. Fortunately his failure was discovered while the vehicle was parked or it could have resulted in a very serious vehicle accident. There was an acknowledgment (and recall) of this corrosion failure issue issued by Mazda but it was for a subsequent model years. I contacted Mazda regarding this very dangerous issue and they denied any responsibility.

Bought. A 2011 Mazda 6, and took it to a Mazda dealer for an inspection. They found the rear sub frame ie rear cradle to be extremely rusted out, the shocks on both side are detached, and the springs look like they may push through at any point and do more damage. The car is unsafe to drive and the dealer estimated a repair cost or $4322. 99 to fix.

Turning onto a road, heard a loud thud from the front passenger corner. Car steering became highly erratic. Parked the car, noticed the front passenger wheel was crooked. Took it to the nearest shop and they said the crossmember was rusted completely through and snapped, causing the control arm to lose control. Found out there is a recall for the car model and year for this exact issue, but my car wasn't covered by it, so I did not receive notification of it, but it clearly affects this VIN as well.

I purchased a used vehicle in nh from a private seller "as is", repaired tires and brakes, passed MA state inspection and dropped the car off to address the recall, which I had researched via a VIN number search. The dealership informed me that the body had corroded beyond repair, and they cannot perform the required repair for the recall. While the dealership has been helpful, this looks like a major underlying manufacturing flaw for a vehicle at 115k built in 2011.

I was on freeway when some warning start showing on dashboard ( enging, track control system, battery) then my steering wheel was hard that I couldn’t manubrio I hit a curb that was on the entrance and my car start spinning in circles till I hit the hill on side road.

While im driving the steering is shifting to the right and seems lower on right side. My tires daily need to have air in them because of the uneven weight. While I drive and let go of the gas the car pulls back like an e brake could be stuck not sure though. No accidents at all but it seems like the vehicle is getting weaker and weaker with the uneven weight going down on the tires and steering seems like it's going to crash onto the right without being able to control it.

I was driving down the road when my steering, suddenly and with out warning began pulling very hard to the right and the steering wheel began turning to the left. My car made loud noises when I tried to straighten out the steering wheel and when I tried to turn. Its also appeared to be rubbing on the inside of the wheel well. Further inspection revealed that the support where the control arm is connected to the frame had torn away from the frame due to oxidation. There is significant oxidation on the frame and there are large areas that no longer appear to be solid.

While driving 40mph heard a pop, hissing sound and unable to steer vehicle. Stopped at roadside to examine tires, which were ok. Incredibly difficult to steer wheel and to stay on the road while swerving. I was within a mile of belle tire for a mechanic to look at my Mazda 6. He showed me how the open recall on the front crossmember was repaired only on the right wheel side, and the left front wheel had the same amount of rust completely broken apart. A phone call was made to the Mazda dealer closest, problem was relayed to service manager, and said even with my pictures, Mazda needs inspection on vehicle, and wait for repair was a month. As my only vehicle ,it took 2 days to get repaired by belle tire. I went with my receipt, and 10 photos, to the service department manager that did the original recall work to discuss what transpired, and request a reimbursement for the incomplete repair on this open recall. He was not there. I then asked to speak to the service department director. He also was not there. The mechanic supervisor took my name and phone number for one of the managers to call me regarding this problem. I have not received any communication from either managers, which now has been since last week. There were no warning lights on the dashboard when this occurred. I have had this vehicle since new, and only 61,000 miles.

I felt something was weird with the steering one day so I went to Mazda dealer because I noticed corrosion on front driver cross and rear components which have corrosion and baseball size holes. Inspected by local Mazda dealer in early 2022 was told "we see a lot worse than this" so nothing was fixed or replaced by dealer. October 2022 failed PA state inspection for subframe rust safety concerns. 2023 got another mechanic to look and they estimate over $6,000 repair cost (docs. Attached). Serious safety concerns causes vehicle to sit unused which makes it available for inspection anytime. Police or insurance representative were not contacted but can be if needed.

My car has approx 115,000 miles. I took it to bass Mazda to have spark plugs and serpentine belt changed simply for maintenance purposes. After leaving dealership my car was pulling to the right. My steering wheel was no longer centered. It also was turned toward the right. Any time I had to hit the brakes the car pulled very hard to right. Long story short it we ended up finding out that my sub frame is very rusted and cracked. My car specifically does not fall into the recall for this issue. When I called Mazda to inform them that this may be an issue with other cars the rep was ki d of rude. She just kept telling me I needed to contact the dealership to see what they could do and get cost appraisal. I was simply trying to let them know this could be an issue for other vehicles.

I own a 2009 Mazda 6 witch is my only vehicle I had tooken it to a mechanic shop due to noise comming from the front and rear of the car under farther investigation I was notified by the mechanic that the entire front and rear subframes were badly rotted and rusty I than took the car to a Mazda dealer for further inspection we’re I was notified that they would replace the front sub frame under recall but I would still have to pay out of pocket for all the other suspension components long story short I was given an estimate of thousands n thousands of dollars that I could not afford and was told the car is unsafe to drive mainly due to the rear subframe and components bein severely rusted I would just like to know why there hasent been a recall for the rear subframe on this vehicle when there has been hundreds of other complaints about the same thing I’m goin through about the same year make and model vehicle so now I am out of a vehicle due to it bein unsafe to drive that could cost me my job.

The contact owns a 2010 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that the steering wheel was pulling without warning. There was rust on the frame. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not safe to drive. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign number 18v631000 (suspension, structure). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 151,000.

The wheels were turning in and the steering was really hard to keep straight had to turn the steering wheel almost half around car make loud screaming noises. Tires went flat . . I have 6 grandkids lucky I wasn't going fast the car could of flipped . Subframe broke in half on passenger side rusted right out. I got this car from right way dealership in saginaw michigan in March of 2019 they never told me or never contacted me that there was a recall for the subframe breaking. Could of killed someone!!!!.

My car had a air bag recal and a subframe and other misc recalls so I contacted the dealership near me which was in springfield mo and set a apt and had it replaced then got a call the next day saying they wuld meet me half way with a loaner car which was in mansfield mo for the subframe replacement and they have had it for over a month and they called and told me it was ready for pick up 6/21/21 and I drove up there wed to pick it up and it wuldnt start wuldnt do nothing dead battery. Dealership then hooked up a jump box the gauges started jumping all back and fourth like something was shorted or a short some were got it started and the min the jump box turned off the it killed all power the car shut completly off to nothing. So they gave me the loner vehical back and they drove me my car to west plains mo and they took the loner vehical and I got in my car and the air bag light is flashing very fast constly the steering is super tight and the brakes feel weird the passenger side is missing a piece in the dash only lights that was on my car when they picked it up was the tire sensor light and the check engine light got pics to prove and show everything. . I’m driving it back to dealership to see if they can fix or make it right and give me the loner vehical back till they get my car back to the condition it was in when they picked it up for a recall repair. .

While driving my 2015 Mazda 6 gt, with 40,0000 miles on it, on a main local road, with a max speed limit requirement of 45 mph, I attempted to turn into the right turn lane at a speed of approx 35 mph, while lightly depressing the brake. As I began to turn, the steering just locked up, and the power steering stopped working. A few dashboard lights also came on at the same time. . One said power steering malfunction, the other was a red hazard symbol, and I don't specifically recall the other. I finally shut the car off after a few minutes. When I restarted the car, after several seconds the wheel regained mobility and the dashboard lights went off. I carefully and slowly drove my car home, aprrox 2 miles from where it happened. I haven't driven the car since, due to fear of it happening again. I was almost rear ended twice when it happened.

My car steering veers to the left constantly. The electrical system is wired wrong and doesn't work properly. This happens while I'm driving all the time and its only a matter of time before it causes me to wreck.

The suspension feels loose, like the steering is not in sync with the wheels when turning left. Occasional rattle after consecutive small bumps in the road and a slight vibration around 60 mph. I have all new tires, a wheel alignment, and an inspection by two seperate Mazda dealers( pugi Mazda in IL, & Mazda of jackson ms) both say they see nothing wrong.

Steering wheel locks when reversing to the right or while driving on a bumpy city road. It happens while going 45mph. Atlanta, GA.

Was in an accident which resulted in a lockup of vehicle and side collision with battery failure.

Front sub-frame rusted causing lower suspension / control arm to come apart, leaving front wheel to be unstable. This happened while driving, almost causing accident do to instability in staring system. I see that this is a common problem with this model, however for some reason my VIN doesn't show the recall. Is this something that the company is planning to address, or am a stuck with the problem? pictures included.

Clunk noise driving on city street, on driver's side when wheels are fully turned to the left and when car is stationary and right before accelerating. Service advisor from the repair shop informed me not to drive the car because it is not safe and may cause an accident. The manufacturer warranty is no longer effective and it expired 2018. The invoice total is $901. 25, parts cost is $83. 34 labor of $809. 99 + tax. Called Mazda's 800 number and informed if manufacturer defect is my recourse with no avail. I am reaching out to nhtsb if other Mazda owners have encounter the same problem and avoid future costly expense for senior citizens. I feel that since it is a manufacturer's defect, as attested to by the service advisor and Mazda hotline representative, the least they could do is cover the expense since our current mileage is so low (21,589 miles for 4 years). We hope that we can be assisted with this dilemma as it relates to safety and cost. Invoice is attached thank you for you assistance.

Takata recall I was driving my car to work and the steering rack went out of it the car only has 116,000 miles on it.

I was driving to work this morning and steering wheel was turn to right to keep straight and felt like something was loose. I drove home and hit the brakes and car veered to the right hard. The car did not feel right when I got home I found passenger front tire was not straight and was crooked. I took to meinke and they found entire under carriage of engine rusted badly and looked like swiss cheese they stated I was lucky to get there and that this happens a lot on this make and model of car and that it would be $1200 to $1500 to fix.

I was on a street in the city waiting for the light to change. Suddenly I lost control of the car, the card accelerated himself. I try to and put brake to the bottom but anyway I hit the car in front of me. Much of the front of my car is broken. The other car was damaged in the back of their car. The police made a report of what happened.

While making a right turn, I hit the brakes to avoid colliding with someone who pulled in front of me and the passenger's side front wheel locked into a position turned to the right. I had it towed to a repair shop, where I was informed that the control arm had separated from the frame due to rust. It seems there was a recall for this issue in 2018 for certain states, and while I do not currently reside in one of the affected states, I used to and my car did for most of its life.

Subframe on passenger side has rusted completely through, exposing a lower control arm bolt. This has occurred on the passenger side. There is a recall for 09/10 Mazda 6. Don't know why this isn't expanded to cover this Mazda 6 model as I'm sure the subframe is the same throughout.

I was driving 40 mph and all of the sudden I heard a loud nice and my car was going to the right while my steering wheel was straight, in order to drive straight I had to turn my steering wheel to the left. While I made turns I would here loud noises. Also my traction light turned on and the breaks were not working well which made me slide and caused the tires to spin when accelerating and that's when I pulled over to a safe spot and called a tow truck. I took my car to the car shop and they told me the whole sub frame was rusted and needed to be replaced.

When maneuvering to or from parking when the steering wheel is turned and puts any pressure on the steering components the right front of the car makes a very loud clunking and popping and makes both steering and moving difficult. It has gotten progressively worse over the last 2 months so I did some research and found out about the possible corrosion issue of the front right subframe and recall "inspection". I will call my local dealer and schedule an appointment as it seems this car is under an open recall and was never looked at. I just bought it as a used car in mid October and mostly drive my truck all winter so it took awhile for this to surface.

Mazda 2007 Mazda 6 with severe corrosion to engine subframe posing a very serious safety concern if breaks while driving. Current Mazda 6 in question had less than 100k miles and was spotted by an oil change technician. I've asked a couple mechanics and was informed the car would be a possible death trap to myself or others if not fixed quickly. All parties are amazed at amount of corrosion, internet searches suggest this is a very common problem and already a recall in place for other year Mazda 6's.

The rear subframe has excessive rust and mechanic reported it would not pass yearly inspection unless replaced. Front subframe had the same problem in 2019 and was replaced through Mazda recall. Mechanic reports the rear subframe has the same exact nature of rust.

I have the open and dangerous recall ( # 2818i ) still pending at this time. It was hard enough just to get the dealership, in order to inspect the car for corrosion in the concerning areas. I don't feel that the car is safe to drive at this time and prefer that no one rides with me when driving it, just for the safety of others. I'm very concerned that this fix will not come soon enough and the problem keep messing up my cars alignment. Causing all sorts of problems driving it, especially at high speeds. That's when a wheel wobble starts to happen in the affected areas of the front passenger side of the car. Please help!.
