Engine Shut Off Without Warning Problems of Mazda MPV

While driving vehicle on highway at 60mph in traffic vehicle shut off. Mazda mechanic told me coil on number one cylinder was bad. This had been replaced just a year or so ago but apparently was bad again.

2004 Mazda Mpv. Consumer states that while driving speeds of 70 mph the vehicle just lost all acceleration dropping to below 5 mph. She also states that the vehicle just shut off. The mechanics were unable to find a problem.

My Mazda 2005 Mpv van engine shuts down completely when slowing down, slowing around corners and sitting at red lights. There does not seem to any spuddering or anything engine runs great. Loss of steering is the biggest issue when engine cuts off. I have seen a bunch of other complaints about the same problem on the same model van im sure there's lots more.

Was exiting parkway west westbound exit for route 22 in pittsburgh for weirton, wv; engine shut off on its own when engine went out of overdrive and increased its rpms and I let off of gas pedal to brake - lost power steering and brakes, maintained control, shifted to neutral, restarted engine - traction control light remained on for rest of trip to wv until key was returned to completely "off". Then all lights were reset to normal - no check engine warnings. This has occurred about 5 or 6 times again, always after accelerating, and then letting off the gas pedal. I have been able to replicate with vehicle in park - just rev engine to around 2500 to 3000 rpm, and let off the gas - it shuts off every time on its own. So far I have not been rear ended, but?.

2002 Mazda Mpv stalled unexpectedly. The consumer stated the engine would just shut down without any warning lights.
