Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2011 Mazda Tribute
1
The automatic passenger airbag sensor does not operate properly. My wife weighs about 120 pounds and the light goes on and off at random on the highway are just sitting still. The dealer has zero solutions and we are following the instructions in the manual which states the weight threshold to be 80 lbs. If we're in an accident and her airbag doesn't deploy there will be a problem. Vehicle is an 2011 Mazda Tribute.

3 My car is not even 4 years old yet and the airbags do not work. There should be a recall. The dealership said I am not the only one having problems with that, however, they will not fix it unless there is a safety recall. This is very serious matter. Airbags are suppose to be safe and they are required.

informed by dealership that airbags may deploy at any time or may not deploy in case of a collision. Repairs necessary for proper airbag function. (3) as per TSB 0800205 and service kit 1l84-14293-aa problems addressed by dealership technician and airbag light no longer illuminated. Charge $338. 37 parts and labor. Mazda and it's dealerships have profited by repairing, with Mazda certified parts, a known safety issue that could endanger the lives and safety of Mazda owners and their passengers if not addressed. There is a TSB and service kit designed to address this exact problem. This indicates Mazda is aware of the problem and is prepared to repair it at the cost of it's customers. When buying a product (a vehicle especially) safety is assumed. When there is a known safety hazard caused by the product, due to malfunction or negligence, it is the manufacturer's to correct the hazard. Not the customer.

While driving home from work and with no impact of any kind the passenger air bag deployed. My vehicle did not hit anything. There was no one in front or behind me. I made it home without further incident, in this case I was concerned about the drivers air bag going off. It did not. I called the local city police desk and they advised that it was alright to drive the vehicle. I called my insurance CO. And they sent an adjuster a few days later. The insurance CO. Prompted me to take the vehicle to a Mazda dealer to have the system read. I did so. The vehicle was repaired with a new air bag and module. No explanation why the air bag deployed was given to me or the insurance CO. To my knowledge.

6 I have had air bag harness replaced three times now and according to Mazda it has now caused my air bag module to short out. This would seem to be a safety recall which Mazda does not want to own up to. I am concerned for safety of passenger in car and cost for replacement is becoming absorbent and any investigation into this safety concern would be appreciated.

10 1. Recall on safety buckle, NHTSA # 03v515000. 2. Airbag light continually flashing. Unsafe conditions when driving. 3. Foothills Mazda in spokane, wa refuses to replace the buckle assembly stating that the warranty ran out at 50,000 miles. How does a warranty run out on a safety recall? I have tried for nearly a year to have the buckles fixed, but they refuse to do it.
