Two problems related to front driver side air bag inflator have been reported for the 2012 Mercedes Benz C300. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
According to takata, activation of a non-desiccated ammonium nitrate inflator with degraded propellant may result in an inflator rupture. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the air bag and into the vehicle interior at high speed, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants.
Takata recall received a letter from m b in March 2017 about the recall. Spoke to m b customer service today and they said recalls of other brands take priority over Mercedes Benz recalls for the inflator replacements. How long is long enough to wait to correct this safety concern ?.
