The electronic steering wheel lock went out causing the car to not start. Upon checking the internet to see if anyone else was having this problem I found that it was a problem many Mercedes Benz owners have had and it's an expensive one. It's not just with my particular model and it's not limited to older models of the brand either.

Smells like gas strong.

Smells like gas and my auto group gave me a recall campaign bulletin showing recall for my make model and year (mercedes C300 2016), but my VIN doesn’t show it as being covered by that recall.

During cold weather there is always a gasoline smell when starting the engine that eventually goes away. On 01/20/2025 the smell was so intense that I decided to stop the engine and leave the car outside the garage just in case. Upon opening the hood, I noticed an amount of a type of liquid similar to gasoline right on the undercarriage protector covers. I could not reach with my hands but instead I used a wood stick that I had in the garage. I reached the liquid and submerged the stick for like 10 seconds and pulled it out. When I smelled it, it indeed smelled like gasoline. I took the stick to the back patio and lighted it up and as I suspected, the tip of the stick lighted up like a torch. I called a nearby mechanic and made an appointment to check it out and today (01/23/2025) I am bringing it in. I went to youtube and found numerous videos showing this "well known issue" with some of the fuel lines in this type of vehicle which I believe is a tremendous hazard. Just imagine that when I turned the engine up on 01/20/25 the engine could had gone up in flames burning not only the vehicle, but my entire house with maybe my family inside? please take serious note on this issue and try to come up with a mandatory solution for the problem. Fuel tank is leaking at connection between fill tube and tank. Multiple recalls have been issued apparently for similar problems with cars of other years. With less than 1/2 tank, the fuel leak is not as pronounced. With the tank full, the tank drips fuel. Fire department in riverside was called and confirmed issue. Upon bringing vehicle to clearwater mercedes and other mechanics, the problem was confirmed. Dealership says that Mercedes Benz denies that the problem is theirs to resolve. Dealership fixed other issue that was not producing symptoms but stated that the cost to resolve was $5000. 00 (about the value of the car at this point).

Due to the type of fuel line and clamps used to fasten them, cold weather has caused them to shrink such that gas leaks, which comes through the car vents into the car cab and now into my [xxx] and [xxx] kids's lungs. Mercedes has issued a 10 year warranty on this specific feature, but it should be a safety recall unless we agree that inhaling gas vapors is okay for your health. It causes malfunctions with the vehicle, for example, the obd-based emissions test has flagged a lot of (codes p219a, p0300, p0304, p0410, p0305, p0303, p0171, p0301) 5 of the cylinder misfire codes with the check engine light on, as well affecting other parts in the vehicle function properly, acceleration issues, car stalling as though it’s going to shut off. This is a serious matter and mercedes-benz is failing to prioritize customer safety, over cost especially when known faults in the vehicle can lead to potentially life-threatening incidents such as fuel leaks and fire hazards. Yes, the vehicle is available for further inspection upon request immediately each day my life is at risk. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? my safety and other's safety are put at risk every time I get out on the road to drive my car it's putting me and other' live in serious danger (especially with the extreme increase in car accidents in the local nashville, TN area). Despite the vehicle now being 3,000 miles over the 150,000-mile extended warranty threshold. My whole entire car smells like gas. I cannot drive this car around because I will pass out and it is a safety hazard. There is a recall for this exact same issue, just not for my VIN number. I would like to get this done for my car, please.

Keep getting a code p052e! changed the oil and code went away for a few days then came back. Looked into getting it fixed and it seems like mercedes has known about this issue and hasn’t called for a recall on this piece of equipment! very costly to fix and says it needs to be replaced every 30k to 50k miles! at around 1k to 3k to fix everytime that’s something they should recall.

Purchased vehicle in March 2024 it went thru emission inspection in 2022 after failing it passed second time . I go for inspection and it fails emission test again just passed two years later. After doing my research positive crankcase ventilation system seems to be a very common problem. It also cost 2000 to fix. Appreciate you time thank you.

I got my oil changed last week and not my car has the check engine light on and is throwing the code p025e. From what I’ve read this is common problem in these cars. It’s an environmental hazard, because when this happens the car is not dispelling the fumes as it should and cannot be ventilated correctly.

The intake manifold blew on my car while it was off overnight and I took it to the mercedes dealership to have it fix and the next day I got it back after it was repaired the same problem happened again when I went to unlock my car I heard a bang and smoke coming from the engine.

On the afternoon of February 6, 2024, as I was turning into my driveway to park in front of the garage, my car unexpectedly accelerated despite my foot being on the brake pedal. However, the police did not file an accident report since it occurred on private property. Subsequently, I contacted my insurance agent, and the car was towed to a repair shop recommended by the dealer. Today, I was informed by the repair shop that the damages are extensive enough for the car to be considered totaled by the insurance company. Fortunately, the incident did not occur while driving on the freeway or public roads earlier that day, potentially averting a more serious accident. Nevertheless, the ordeal has caused considerable stress and sleep loss for all involved. I have since reached out to the repair shop and dealer to conduct a thorough diagnostic analysis to determine the cause of the malfunction. I've requested copies of the data captured by the on-board diagnostics (obd) system and event data recorder (edr), emphasizing that this data should not be deleted without my consent. However, I am uncertain about the next steps if the insurance company removes the car from the repair shop and how to access the requested data. Upon researching online, I've discovered numerous similar cases involving mercedes-benz cars, with over 20 incidents reported and 11 specifically concerning the same model as mine.

Power train system - p052e positive crankcase ventilation regulator valve indicates a fault in the positive crankcase ventilation regulator valve. I repaired my car for the same issue in 2019 January and it failed again in 2024 January. It costs $2000 to repair and it has a warranty of two. It failed after 3 years. Same issue is occurring in mercedes C300 and glc 300 and multiple times. But company isnt taking any responsibility to fix the issue or at least extend the warranty. 1. I have a fuel smell in the cabin of my car which started about 3 weeks ago. I have drove the car a couple of times and it was pretty bad, also my sunroof almost blew off the car while driving to dry the car after removing the salt from the streets after the snow. Every winter this car will have a heavy smell of gas in the engine and the cabin, after driving it for around 15 minutes with the windows open in the cold it goes away. No problem in the summer time. My mechanic said it's a common problem with these cars.

I bought this car new in 2013. I maintained it at the dealer as per mb recommendations. Last service was in August 2023. Currently had 42k miles on it. Two weeks ago 2 unknown to me lights came on and I took it to the dealer. The diagnosis was total failure due to oil leaking into the computer system. Second problem was water in the subfloor affecting sensors. Coons mercedes in catonsville, MD has all records. I was told that the oil leak was not detected because it was internal and due to an engine design. I was informed that there are many others stuck with this problem. I was informed that I was driving a car that could become suddenly uncontrollable. This was very scary. I was told I needed a new car. My insurance company inspected it and determined it was a total loss. I complained to mb headquarters and hq in stuttgart. I told them that they need to buy a new car for me. I have not heard from them. If mb know that there is an engine flaw why are they putting peoples' lives at risk?.

Mercedes benz selma, texas dearlership refuses to service known issue with fuel system leaks on C300 because they cannot reproduce problem. When it gets cold outside (below ~40 degrees fahrenheit) the clamps loosen a bit and the hose will leak gas. This is what you will smell in the cabin. No clue how they've gone all this time without a safety recall, but I did make a report to the nhtsb last month when it started happening to me. ” the fix is to have the rubber line w/clamps replaced. If you still have warranty the dealer can take care of it. (provided they are configured to test for this defect properly which they are not. Bottom line, fuel leaks in garages like mine with a gas water heater are a big issue. I alerted the dealership that they and mb would be liable if something were to happen since they refused to repair vehicle.

I have a 2017 c 300 and it smells like gas when I turn my heat/ac on. I contacted mercedes to see if there was a recall as this is a huge issue with many customers but mercedes offered no assistance. The smell of gas is very dangerous and I think it's unfair to the customers that mercedes has known about this problem but chose to do nothing.

When depressing the throttle, occasionally there is no response form the engine or a significant delay coupled with erratic engine revving behavior. When this happens the car has no drive power, but power brakes and steering are unaffected. The engine sits at idle speed. This has happened on multiple occasions when in or crossing traffic. The issue may present and then disappear after 15-45 seconds with no other action being taken.

There is a gas smell pervasive in the driving compartment of the car. My mechanic identified a recall campaign for almost every other 2016 c 300 class vehicle. For some reason, my “platform quote number is not listed, but the problem is exactly the same as described in campaign description number. 21p2197456 released on December 17, 2021.

I work at the hospital m-f 0800-1700. The dealership will not make any accommodations in assisting me with my schedule to get car fixed. They refuse to let me make apt on sat/sundays and they will not have car towed to and from mercedes dealership to my work. They have suggested for me to leave work around 1400 to drop car off and pick up a loaner for repairs m-f. This is not feasible.
