Sometimes the headlights flick on and off while driving. Then when the car is turned off, there is a clicking noise in the driver side dashboard that continues until it drains the battery. Also, sometimes the door locks cycle open or closed whether the car is driving or off. This has happened multiple times and caused me to replace the battery, and still I have to jump the car from time to time. This has happened several times over the past few years, but only now have I found this site to report it to.

After receiving recall reminder from Ford about safety recall for headlights inoperative I made appointment with dealer providing VIN# to dealer to get lcm ordered to replace it and it was more than $500, and VIN specific. Arrived at appointment and service manager noted Ford would not reimburse them to replace lcm, could do a rewire car per their computer instructions and something about diagnostic fees, and I needed to contact Ford customer support to get a number authorizing the dealer to replace the lcm as noted as remedy in NHTSA 15v861000. Called customer support and heard automated message thru automated call system related to their #15s39 that they would notify when parts are available, this didn't seem contacted customer support online noting issue and they did not provide # needed for that dealer and suggested going to another dealer.

Headlights go out when driving. I can pull back to do the passing lights and then come on while I am holding it. I can kick the lighting control module above the gas pedal and sometimes it will come on while I am driving. Other times I have to pullover put the car in park and kick till it comes back on. This will happen several times.

The headlights went out on my car while driving home in a snow storm. When I took my vechile to pepboys to find out whats wrong. They said it was the lighting control module that can only be repaired at Ford dealership. They also stated it was a recall on this. When I took it to Ford they said their was no recall on the module. I am unable to drive my vechile, I cant get to work. Which I am in jeopardy of losing my job. If this is on recall why wont Ford fix my car. It put me and my children in harms way of almost crashing trying to make it home.

My car is covered by a recall for lighting control module controlling the headlights. This recall was issued December 21, 2015. I just spoke to the service manager at my local Ford dealership and I was informed that Ford motor company has not made repair parts available as of this time. Since this recall covers a component that when it fails can render the headlights inoperable I am curious as to why Ford motor company is being allowed to not make a remedy for this recall available?.

A recall was issued regarding headlights not functioning for this car last year. I own 2 Mercury Grand Marquis, both have headlights that go out intermittently and the local dealer maintains that the parts still aren't available to complete the recall service. So the end result is I have 2 cars I can only drive during daylight with no precipitation or fog in the forecast. The service manager says that we could pay privately to have it fixed and then maybe get reimbursed by Ford. I believe Ford should be doing more to complete this recall service.

The same has happened to my son's 2005 crown victoria who also received safty recall in January 2016 and his Ford dealer was told same thing.

Ford sent me notice of recall twice in two years but, no parts available till they call. Do I have to crash before they get the parts or they waiting for my car to die before it is fixed. On 7-17-13 the lighting control module broke on my car. I repaired my car with the purchased cardone part #73-71002 for $343. 14 from autozone. I later received a letter from Ford regarding the csp 14n01. I submitted my receipt to the dealer on 4-28-14 and received reimbursement. On 8-29-14 the part broke again on my car. Autozone/cardone warranty expired 7-17-14. I repaired my car with the purchased cardone part #73-71002 for $343. 14 again, this time from oreilys. I called Ford for a reimbursement. They told me it was a one time reimbursement and to contact cardone or NHTSA. In Jan 2016, I received a letter from Ford regarding srn 15s39/NHTSA recall 15v-861. At that time we were not experience loss of lights. Now on 3-24-16, I was pulled over at night by the police for no lights, the part broke again. Oreilys/cardone warranty expired 8-29-15. Oreilys did not reimburse me. I contacted cardone they told me to contact oreilys. So now I am contacting NHTSA. . This cardone part, part #73-71002 is defective obviously. As of today, the part is still being sold at both autozone and oreilys. We do not have any headlights. We are not going to buy the same $343. 14 defective part a third time. Please recall the cardone part 73-71002. How do I fix my car? there are no working parts to buy? both receipts are attached.

I was driving in a small town on small street with no street lighting. I was about 15 miles per hour and started to brake for a stop sign. Headlights flashed and went out. I turned my headlights off and then turned them back on and they were good. After making a left turn from the stop sign about 100 feet my lights went out. It took a while to find in the dark a place to pull over. I tried turning my engine off completely, and when I started it back up, no lights. I played around with my light levers and finally found that if I depressed and held the flash lever my lights would work. I had one heck of a time trying to make to left turns and hold down lever to get home.

I recently(2 months) returned my 2003 Grand Marquis due to the headlights going out intermittently. My mechanic explained that there was a recall for the failures of the lcm. The dealership replaced the device in January. Last night while I was driving in the dark, the lights went out again. This will again need to be replaced. Are they using faulty parts for the recall? this is very dangerous and I am lucky to be alive to even type this today.
