The contact informed the dealer and showed them that the turn signals functioned improperly, but they failed to provide a remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was waiting for a solution. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.

2 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2015

I was driving down the road at night and was turning left when my headlamps just turned off for no reason and I had to drive with high beems the only way they would work is if you hold the turn signal lever towards you. This scared me to death because in my state at this time of year deer are everywhere.

3 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2015

Vehicle headlights work intermittently . Cruse control does not reset or turn on when supposed to. This is also an intermittent problem, sometimes resetting, and sometimes not. Headlights would sometimes not turn on when driving unless pulling turn signal arm toward steering wheel and holding. High beams only would work.

4 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2013

I left the house after dark to pick up my husband from work. When I got to his job I turned the car off because I was early. When he got to the car and I restarted it the headlights did not come on. They came back on after I used the turn signal about 2 minutes later. After that we notice that occasionally the lights would go off while driving at night but would come back on after a couple of minutes. Until one night when they stop working altogether. It stayed that way till we took it to a dealership where they informed us that they were aware of it happening to other cars but the piece that we needed was on back order and we would have to wait for one and a half months. While we were waiting the only way to have headlights while driving was to hold the high beams stick because it wouldn't even work if you pushed the high beams to the always on position.

5 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

I was driving southbound on route 95 from baltimore to washington at night. While driving, my headlights suddenly went out. I normally keep the headlights set on the automatic mode. When the headlights went out, I turned the headlight dial on the dash to each of the positions without being able to reilluminate the headlights. I noticed that when I pulled the turn signal lever towards me, the high-beams would go on, but they would not go on when the lever was pushed away from me to keep the high beams on while freeing my hands. I therefore had to drive for approximately 20 miles while keeping the highbeams activated with my left hand. This posed problems when I needed to turn the wheel. I brought the car to my local Ford dealership, jerry's Ford in annandale, virginia. Even though I kept the car at the dealership for several days, they were unable to diagnose the problem because the headlights were properly functioning. The problem recurred while I was driving south on I-95, headed to new york, on October 6. At that time I lost the headlights and they remained out for well over one hour, requiring me to keep the high beams activated with my left hand while driving the car. I am now experiencing the problem on nearly a daily basis. I make short trips to the grocery store, less than a mile from my house, at night, and invariably lose the headlights while driving home. One time I was able to restore the headlights by turning the dial on the dash to the manual position (far right). At other times, this does not work.

6 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2013

Headlights go off unexpectedly while driving at night. Experimenting found that high beam (unsafe when driving on 2 way road) may be kept on by holding the turn signal lever in the up position (thus occupying the left hand while driving) internet search indicates that this is a fairly common problem with this make and model, and that replacement of the light control module is expensive ($700 - $900) and not always a long term fix. Should be a Ford recall item.

7 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2009

The contact owns a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that the headlights would go out completely while driving at any speed. Sometimes the lights will illuminate within a few minutes or up to fifteen minutes. When he pulls the turn signal lever towards him, the bright lights illuminate, but shut off when he lets go off the lever. The dealer informed him to bring the vehicle in for inspection. The repair would cost between $400 and $500. The failure mileage was 98,000. Updated 4/16/09 the consumer stated the repairs were made by replacing the lcm. Updated 04/20/09.

8 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2003

The turn signal failed intermittently. The cause had not been determined. The turn signal raced extremely fast that the lights flicker instead of blinking. The problem occurred 30 times since Dec. 2003. Ford was aware of the problem but did not have a fix.
