1 Tail Light Switch problem

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis 2004. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the front head lights rear tail lights, turn signal lights and dashboard lights would suddenly shut off and fail to illuminate. The cause of the failure was not determined the dealer vera chaddy(1240 bloomfield, fairfied NJ) and the manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 147,00. Jft.

2 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2015

The contact owns a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. While driving approximately 55 mph at night, the low beam headlights, tail lights, and instrument cluster failed to illuminate. In addition, the high beam headlights were inoperative. The vehicle was driven cautiously with the hazard warning lights activated. The vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 15v861000 (exterior lighting); however, the remedy involved the replacement of the lighting control module and not the other components that failed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000. The VIN was unavailable.

3 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

Tl- the contact stated 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that NHTSA action number: pe08066 (exterior lighting) had exceeded the reasonable amount of time for repair. The dealer stated the part was not available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the delay. The vehicle was not repair. The contact had mention he had experienced the failure on multiple occasion. He stated while driving at various speeds spontaneously both front and rear tail lights fail to illuminate. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. Az.

4 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2010

Headlights went out while driving the vehicle. This was on a dark, dark, 2 lane country road with little or no shoulder. Using the high beam "hold" function light would come on high beam. Working switches would not bring lights back on. Checking lights later, found lights would go out within 5 mins - stay out for less than 5 mins and then repeat. Repair was the lcm module which dealer charged aprox. $700 to fix. Very dangerous and scary! tail lights did stay on.
