There is a problem with my tourqe converter with 100k miles. My car won't accelerate.

The wrench light came on in the car and my obd sensor will not pick up a code on what it could be. I was driving it yesterday to merge onto a highway when suddenly I couldn’t pass 15 mph and was stuck witch cars beeping and zooming around me. I had to shut the car off wait and turn it back on. The amount of complaints I’ve seen about the same exact issue happening to people in the same exact car is ridiculous to not be a recall. I am almost certain it’s a throttle bottle issue. This needs to be looked into and investigated before Ford comes across a lawsuit.

When driving at high speeds on the freeway there is a jerk in the car, the triangle warning light comes on that says pull over when safe, the engine shuts off, and we can no longer accelerate. We pull over, turn off the car, and then turn it back on.

Started car for a drive after oil change/ disconnect battery for terminal cleaning and reconnect. Upon acceleration, could not get car to shift unless let off gas. Shifts hard, did not shift 3 and 4 gear until acceleration of at least 55 mph, then 70 in 4th gear. On highway seemed to want to slow down. Upon parking, let it idle. Car flashed engine light, wrench and curvy road. Idling was rough, as if vacuum was not working. Turned car off and then on. Wrench disappeared and curvy road but engine light on. Checked codes. Only threw one code not related to problem. Unable to drive this way. So many complaints but no recalls. Never buying a Ford again. Looks like time for foreign car.

My wrench light came on and car shifts hard and won't go into overdrive.

Takata inflators : I picked up my 2010 Mercury Milan after being advised of the recall and was told my vehicle could not be driven I received a call today after 2 months stating my car was ready as I arrived to the dealership I returned the rental and tried to start my own car and could not the vehicle was jumped and I left dealer turned into traffic and could not accelerate as the car was seized up into 2nd gear the belts have possible dry rot brakes have corrosion from the car being stationary all the time waiting on parts. I returned to the dealer where I was told many cars are having numerous issues and they could not help me and I was then left to drive my unsafe vehicle home.

Intermittently, when vehicle is in motion, wrench light comes on and vehicle begins to decelerate. Once vehicle is pulled over to safety, vehicle needs to be shut off. Afterwards, the vehicle may be restarted and the wrench light disappears and the vehicle drives normally for a few more miles. Then, the issue comes back again. To get anywhere from a to b, the vehicle will need to be pulled over to safety and shut off and restarted each time the wrench light comes on and the vehicle begins to decelerate.

My 2010 Mercury Milan would not exceed 15 miles per hour and did not respond to the gas pedal. The engine and transmission light were lit on my dashboard.

While driving at interstate speeds, there is a sudden drop in power (limp mode), after resetting the car full power is restore. Error code refers to throttle body sensors.

It's been pulling hard and jerking the car lot was supposed to fix it and never has I don't know what to do and it always smells like it's overheating.

Surging while driving on urban street, check engine light came on, mechanic said code 2111 shows. Code indicates malfunctioning throttle body.

Pulled 2008 Milan in parking lot, put in park, engine began to race, tapped gas pedal, engine returned to normal. Car started fine, driven short distance, I stopped at stop sign. Put foot on gas pedal, car began 'limp home' mode, was able to pull to curb. Wrench light appeared. Shut car off a few minutes. Started fine, wrench light on, was able to drive few blocks to get home. Next day started engine 3 times, each stalling within seconds. Never had issues with car. Purchased precertified in 2011, 52,0000 mi. On it. Will own 7 yrs. May 2018. I put 1000 mi. Yrly. On car. Odometer now under 59,500. On 3/9/18 car towed to dealership (where I purchased it). Car sat in lot 10 days before looked at. Finally, checked and diagnosed. Installed new throttle body. Re-tested. Problem. Installed new accelerator. Re-test. Problem. Codes appearing. I contacted Ford motor CO. In michigan. Told to keep calling dealership. I've spoken to numerous staff already & asked for loaner car. Not granted. I did internet research & found lawsuit against Ford about 'limp home' mode involving throttle body & computer sensors defect on Ford, Mercury & Lincoln brought on by nccc. Ford not forced to recall this defect involving 1. 6 million cars. Many internet sites have shown complaints with this issue. It is a major safety hazard! numerous owners wrote to validate car repaired only to experience same 'limp home' incident return. Stories involve highway driving when loss of acceleration occurred. Someone has to be killed by this manufacturing defect before it's back to forcing Ford to own up to neglect to make a profit. My experience leaves me without a car, cancellations of appts, relying on cabs or friend to shop. This is a serious safety issue. It's now 4 weeks without a car. Am told warranty expired. Can I please be directed to proper government agency with jurisdiction to help me resolve this?.

Panel light came on,"service power steering now" while driving,had towed,reset, did the same the next day while driving. Replaced gear and pinion, next day the same problem occurred, almost had a wreck. Car has 117,000 miles. No the traction light come on. Had reset ,same problem. Advance auto had codes c1277,c1963,p1450,p0456.

I was driving up the hill & slowed down for the speedbump. I started applying the brakes to turn right into the driveway but the car lunged forward, causing me to miss the driveway & turn into the yard. As I stepped on the brake the car continued to speed up so I screamed at my husband "james I can't stop the car!" he yanked the handbrake up but it didn't stop or slow down and the engine made a continuous high pitched racing sound. We crashed into the house, damaging it & breaking my left arm! the car was totaled. All this occurred in just a matter of seconds. Fortunately our family was in another part of the house and weren't injured.

Car was parked in my driveway. Tried to start vehicle, battery failed and unable to recharge. Removed failed battery replaced with new battery, started car and wrench and engine light came on. Unable to accelerate vehicle, drives 5 miles per hour. Online chats speak of failed throttle body, one post states there is a recall but I do not find in on the NHTSA website. Did find the airbag recall with no solution yet. Please advise.

The contact owns a 2006 Mercury Milan. While driving various speeds, the vehicle went into limp mode and the speed suddenly decelerated to under 20 mph. When the failure occurred, the speed would not increase past 20 mph when depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the electronic throttle body was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.

Electronic throttle body (etb) malfunction. Car revs but fails to catch. Check engine and wrench lights came on. Once car started moving pedometer did not work. Warranty on this part for 2009-2014 models has been extended to 10 years or 150,000 miles. The warranty should cover all model years as this is a potential problem before on vehicles manufactured before 2009.

Trottle acutator stuck in closed position as the car was moving about 25 mph, pressed the accelarator but nothing was happening,engine was at iddle, and was able to move to the side of the road. Started the car again and everything worked for abot a minute and then it happened again. When I got home after a few restarts I hooked up my comupter to read the obd code that came on !! it was code p2112 , witch is the trottle acutator module !! after reseting the obd code it was working fine on the driveway. I'll take it for a test drive later. It seems clear that a problem exists with the trottle acutator on the trottle body !!! a design flaw is very possible, and it presents a danger when driving on the road with a sudden loss of power and speed. A recal should be in the works for Ford !!! I have read too many complaints about the same problem. My car has 32,000 miles and is a 2010 year.

Brake pedal switch would malfunction and car would lock in park and had to replace 2016 cost - I don't have this receipt handy at this time. Today replaced throttle and an ignition coil this date. Car would stop accelerating when in motion when driving in a straight line and loose power and have to pull over and shut off and restart and then more time to start. Repaired today cost over $1100.

While driving on the interstate my car lost the ability to travel at a safe and acceptable speed. The cars maximum speed was 30 mph on an interstate that has a required speed of 55mph. I was forced to pull over on the side of the road and have the car towed. This is a grave safety concern, especially since Ford motor company knows exactly what the problem originates from. The car was then taken to a repair shop that found the problem to be a defective throttle body. Ford will replace throttle bodies in 2009 and up Mercury Milan's but not the 2007. The cars have the exact same throttle bodies! it is negligent on Ford motor companies part to not offer to replace all throttle bodies in affected automobiles.

I was traveling on a two lane highway going about 60 mph with my two granddaughters in the car with me, when all of a sudden I lost power and the car began to decelerate. The wrench light came on. The car lost power and dropped speed. Wrech icon was lit on dash but it wasn't obvious on page 10 of owners manual. Found icon on page 13 and took car back home along back roads as it wasn' t running up to speed to stay on highway. Looked online for similar issues and contacted Ford at 888-392-3673 for possible "customer assistance program. " was told that car was not on list but keep all receipts in case it does go on a recall list.

I got into the car with my one month old granddaughter and her mom and my son, the car hesitated to start, got on the expressway and tried to pick up speed and the car goes only to 55 speed and it don't pick up so I had to get off the expressway with my family because the car wasn't acting right, . Then the next thing I know the check engine light came on and the airbag came on and that tool bar on the left hand side of the dash board came on. As well as the check engine light, this is a 2006 Mercury Milan premier , I heard a lot of clicking while I was driving back home, when I tried to turn the car hesitate and another car almost hit me and my family and one month old granddaughter. I reach out to Ford and was told that they didn't have any recall in the system for my car . I don't know what to do this is so wrong , these are some of the codes that has come on the car as well p0403, p0161,p0155,p0141,p0135,p0102, p0020,p0010,p0179,p1489,p0443.

Driving up an on ramp to an interstate highway, the car would not react to increased depression of the throttle pedal. Tool indicator warning light illuminated on the dash. I barely was able to pull off to the berm, almost rear-ended. This has happened numerous times since first occurrence on 6/11/15-6/12/15 and appears to occur only when I have the air conditioning on. Very dangerous situation!.

Was driving home on the expressway where the speed limit is 65 and vehicle wouldn't go over 55 with rpm's at 3000. All the while having the wrench idiot light on. Hoping there is recall because I can't afford a new vehicle or even for it to be fixed.

Initially it began as reduced power to the engine and the wrench/check engine light illuminating. However, after that, I would get surges of power to the engine and the car would jump forward. The car remained driveable, but clearly unsafe. I could not with any confidence continue to drive the car especially on the highway which I do daily.

Turned my car on one morning and a wrench indicator light came on followed by the check engine light upon driving to my repair shop to get problem looked at noticed a significant decrease in acceleration power and vehicle was in "limp mode" my mechanic told me. Looked up the issue and found it was a common issue with my make and model and that a complaint has been submitted for a recall of the throttle body on my vehicle and many others so I am submitting my complaint to help get this issue put into recall status as the part is fairly expensive and I don't believe we as a consumer should have to pay out of pocket for a defect from faulty parts installed on the vehicle at the factory.
