Headlight Switch Problems of Mercury Sable

Vehicle: 2002 Mercury Sable problem: automatic headlights unexpectedly shut off for no apparent reason leaving driver temporarily driving in darkness until driver can switch headlights to the manual mode. This has occurred on several occasions since early December 2006.

The switch to turn the headlights on and off broke off in the consumer's hand. The stated there was a recall on the switch, however she was told her vehicle was not included because the part was made in a different place.

Received recall notice 99v103000. Contacted dealer & took vehicle in on date given. Was charged for the recall repairs by mechanic.
