49 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2015

May 2015: received recall notice. Defect might affect braking. Local mitsu dealer said replacement part had not yet arrived. Dealer's inspection verified that the damage would require replacement, not simply a cleaning overhaul of the part. Dealer said that they would call when the part was available for replacement. We have called the dealer on the average of once a month and always received the same answer. The recall document does clearly state that if the part were not replaced a crash could occur. We are eager to have our car restored to working condition. We are senior citizens who depend on our car. What further action can we take to facilitate repair?.

50 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2014

Slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting something and now the brakes are very spongy and need to pressed all the way down to stop. Also makes a noise when letting go of the pedal. Was sent a recall notice months ago and the parts still aren't available. Hoping it doesn't get any worse while Mitsubishi plays around getting the parts to stop my car.

51 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2014

Driving the car earlier today and hit a small bump and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor, like it has several times before. This time when it happened the brake are not returning to normal, always before when this happened the brake pedal would return to normal in a day or two. What really concerns me is all of the complains on line but no recall yet??? this is very alarming. I'm not sure what to do with the car, all I seem to be able to find on line are used abs pumps and a used part seems like a bad idea.

52 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2014

When the brake pedal is depressed while traveling over a bump, dip or uneven road surface the brake pedal goes to the floor and the car loses its stopping power. You lose your brakes! you have to quickly pump the brake pedal to get pressure back so you can stop. It seems to be a common problem with these cars. Just look at all the posts on the internet. It is not normal for a car to lose it brakes because you went over a bump.

55 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/13/2012

While driving on snow as brakes were applied the abs kicked in and the vehicle slid. At that point all brake pressure at the pedal was lost and failed to return. Braking required full engaging pedal and had little to no pressure. About 2 days later all brake pedal pressure returned. Since this incident, anytime I have to brake hard the same issue happens, and has come close to causing a collision on several occasions. It also happens when brakes are engaged and the right front passenger wheel hits a bump. Each time this happens all brake pressure at the pedal is lost, however after about 2 days it is fine again. Also each time this happens, there is a whistle sound when the brake pedal is released. There are many owners of this same vehicle with the same issue. Many have replaced several parts but still have the same issue. It is a major safety concern for owners, and some have suggested getting rid of the vehicle all together. . Read more...

59 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2007

Bought brand new 2007 Mitsubishi vehicle that had strange loud sounds occurring every time when brakes were applied slowly while driving in traffic everyday. Took vehicle to Mitsubishi dealership 3 times within the same month to remedy the problem. Mitsubishi dealership stated loud sounds were due to brake dust buildup. Had requested to have brakes replaced because brake dust buildup was unlikely to create those kind of loud sounds after being cleaned by the Mitsubishi dealership 3 times within the same month. Mitsubishi dealership still has not resolved this problem, and I believed the brakes were defective.

61 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/31/1969

With my vehicle the brakes go straight to the floor. I took it to the Mitsubishi dealership closest to me (bobmills Mitsubishi jacksonville nc). When I got there I told them what was going on, and if you bleed the brakes they worked fine for 3 or 4 days but after that the brakes would just go to the floor again. They said they bleed the brakes to replace the fluid and then tested the abs module for a recall and said it was fine but I had a collapsed brake line in the rear. I replaced all the brake lines on the vehicle and did a complete bleed again to remove any air. The brakes now go all the way to the floor again. I was trying to bleed them just to see if I could get some pressure, but 3 of the lines aren't getting pressure. I decided to check and bleed at the master cylinder, I had plenty of pressure coming out so I know that's good. Then I checked the bleed pressure at the abs module thats on the recall and I am only getting pressure from the drivers front tire, the other 3 are not giving pressure at all, even if you pump the brakes while they are open. So I know the cylinders in that abs module are bad. So I called the dealership again and they are refusing to do it because they said they don't work on vehicles that old.
