2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse sypder gt. Consumer stated that they lost power and control while driving vehicle.
1) a common issue according to the forums and facebook groups, the strut towers rust through which presents a safety issue when considering that the suspension is connected to the steering which could put an individual or others on the road at risk 2) yet another common issue, the dash and associated bezels crack over time. There has been no solution or alternative to complete replacement from anyone, including (I'm sure) Mitsubishi.

My v-6 (3. 8) gt has approximately 80,000 miles on it. The code (po421) has come up on an obii which is the catalytic converter. In my state (washington) the recall on this part is not honored, due to the 80000 mile warranty. In many other states it is warrantied to 100,000 miles. Whether other states have stricter emission laws, or whatever the reason, this does not change the life expectancy, performance or makeup of the part that is expected to last 100000 miles. In short, I am hoping to get a standardized and equal treatment as others driving the same vehicle with a fair warranty.

I was getting on the freeway when I lost control of my vehicle out of no where, luckily I was in the middle of the on ramp and not in freeway traffic yet. My vehicle pulled toward the drive side, I quickly pulled e-brake turned my wheel opposite of traffic and braked. The car started fish tailing right to left because of the drive side pulling and me trying not to allow the car to spin out or go off the side of the on ramp. When the vehicle came to a stop I made sure my family and I were safe and no other vehicle were involved. Got out to the vehicle to find my drive side tire bent in my fender my axles in half and tire blown, I called for a tow and paid out of pocket for tow and parts plus repairs. I also have fuel pressure problems, srs light, secondary air injection malfunction. My fuel pressure relay is black, the smog technician said the vehicle has recall issues that need to be addressed.
This car is a 2008 and I don't know if it is a factory error but is already asking for the catalyze converter to be changed and it only has 83,000 miles. I know because it didn't pass the emissions test. They asked me to fix code p0421.
Prolonged wiring harness contact with the heat shield causes the wiring insulation to wear & ground out causing the engine to die-out. Had an iccident few days ago where the engine died out and I was in the middle of an intersection and almost got hit by oncoming traffic . This is seriously not okay and a major safety concern. Please help me.

After pulling off from a red light, shifting into second we heard a loud bang (like glass breaking). We pulled off the road. A mechanic happened to be traveling right behind us and stopped. The car had a trail of oil a foot wide and parts strewn all over the road. The mechanic looked under the car and said that it threw a pisten through the engine block and into the transmission. There were parts of the block, pisten, gears. . . . . . . . . . . Etc. That we picked-up off the road. I have them in a bag. The car is five years old (just paid for). It has approx 72,000 miles on it. This car is totally babied, with regular oil changes and not driven by a maniac teenager (I'm 36 years old and female). I can tell you I'll never buy another Mitsubishi even though I loved the car. The mechanic who stopped said he estimated 3-4 thousand dollars for repair. I haven't heard the actual estimate yet. What a shame, it seemed like such a solid car but I got 160,000 miles on my last car (a Ford mustang). I'm calling the dealership in the am but I'm no longer under warranty.
In the summer of 2003 my clutch master cylinder started leaking so ireplaced it. Then in may of 2004 my clutch failed so I had it replaced with a stock clutch. Two months later the engine developed signs of "crankwalk", which happens to alot of 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipses. I had it formally diagnosed with crankwalk and now I can no longer drive my car. I now have to replace my motor with a new one that will cost $3000 and it might end at the same fate. I have done alot of research and there are thousands who have had this happen but, Mitsubishi will not issue a recall for their product.
While driving the vehicle lost power. The dealer stated that the sensor needed to be replaced. Ts there was an odor in the vehicle, the clutch had gone out, the rear brakes squeaked, and water leaked into the interior on the vehicle on the passenger side. The consumer felt that the dealer sold her an unsafe vehicle. Scc.
