Failure Date: 07/16/2002

The contact owns a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer. Ever since the vehicle was purchased, the contact has experienced several failures regarding the brake system. While applying the brakes, she heard a clicking noise coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they tightened the suspension steering. One year later, while driving at an unknown speed, the brakes began to squeak and fail. The vehicle was returned to the dealer for inspection and they found no failures with the brake system. Two years later, while driving various speeds, the contact heard a loud squeaking noise coming from the front brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again and they stated that the front brakes had a ten percent loss in braking power. The front brakes were replaced. Six months later, while backing up the vehicle, she heard a loud grinding noise coming from the rear brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they resurfaced both rear drums.
