The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs as the recall notice was received over a year ago. The local dealer was notified of the recall notice and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The contact stated while parked the vehicle would not start. The check engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated while waiting for the recall remedy, other electrical and mechanical failure occurred. The failure mileage was unknown.
In 2020 I got a recall for engine support from Mitsubishi. We took it in and told me that the support was find that I didn’t need to be replace even tho the recall called for it. They ended up putting rust paint on the support. 4 weeks ago that part broke on my wife when she was driving down the road. The steering wheel was taken out of my wife’s hand while driving. She was able to get the off the road safely. But sprained her wrist. When I found the broken part on the car. I call Mitsubishi themself. When I reported these issue, I was told that someone would be coming to my house to look at the car. I signed a form for them to do that. And for the to read the computer on my car. That was 4 weeks ago. I have emailed them and called them. And no one knows what I’m talking about our replying to my email. And on top of it all we are missing work, at least one day a week because of this.

Mechanics said when they replaced the engine coolant an air bubble entered the line and caused the module to fail. The car overheated when I got on the interstate 5 minutes after leaving the dealership.
The contact owns a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact stated while driving approximately 25–30 mph, the vehicle stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the check engine, 4-wd, abs, traction control, and oil pressure warning lights were illuminated. The mechanic informed the contact that the failure was due to the control arm, engine cradle, oil seal, tie rod, starter, and serpentine belt. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 133,025.
Vehicle does not operate at temperatures below approximately 10 degrees fahrenheit due to manufacture failure to install a battery heater. Was inexplicably deleted from 2023 model year of vehicle. The heat pump system also does not work at low temperatures therefore an electrical resistance heating system is needed. Also, vehicles will not accept charge at low temperatures. The problem can only be confirmed at temperatures below 10 degrees. Vehicle warning lights confirm the problem is due to low temperature conditions. Research indicates numerous complaints that manufacturers are aware of and refuse to address. Could leave owner stranded if leaving vehicle in a cold location.
The contact owns a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact stated while driving 20 mph, the check engine and the asc warning light were illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to exceed 10 mph. The contact stated that the vehicle was driven to a nearby independent mechanic. The independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the pcm needed to be updated. The contact stated that the failure was related to TSB number: 13?13?008. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle would be repaired at her own expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,400.

On Dec 8,2023 our Mitsubishi Outlander shut off while being driven. When this occurred multiple warning lights come on including, service engine immediately, engine overheating (which it was not) and multiple other lights. It was towed to the dealership where they told us the ecu is bad. Mitsubishi no longer makes the part. They have also told us this is the 3rd vehicle in the last month with the same issue. Car had no power/electrical /engine issues prior to this event. Mitsubishi is offering no solution to fix the issue. Luckily when the car shut down we were driving at a low speed in a neighborhood. If this had happened on the freeway it could have been very dangerous. We now have no car, no possibility of repair and no answers to why this happened without warning.
The car started using more fuel, hesitatingly, slipping gears wouldn’t go in gear, died while driving.

I was driving on the highway on a trip and out of no where my car shuttered and then flashed service transmission soon, I pulled over and my car would no longer drive, reverse or go into neutral. The tow company reset my battery to try to reset my car system. After that my car wouldn’t really go past 60. I followed the tow truck to the nearest town and it stalled again at the light and I could no longer go at all, my car locked up and wouldn’t reset at that point. It’s an $1100 tow back home. The cvt transmission really needs to be rechecked and recalled. I’ve found too many issues and the same complaints but can’t find a recall on it at all.
While driving in the city limits around 35 miles an hour I had to stop abruptly to avoid a collision with a driver who didn’t stop at the intersection. I had to come to a complete stop for this driver. When I took my foot off of the brake and tried to drive on my car would not move. I had to shift gears put it in park and try again. I could hear the engine responding but the car wouldn’t move. When it did start to move forward slowly it was shaking very hard and I was only able to get 10 miles an hour. I had to be towed. And I kept thinking what if I was on the highway that day where the speed limit is 75mph.
I have 50,000 miles I’m the original owner, bought it new in 2020, I was leaving work, started my car, blue smoke came out my exhaust, when I drove home from work, on inclines, the car sputters & stalls like it’s about to lose power, accompanied by thick blue smoke, and engine noise. I suspect it’s the piston rings in the cylinder head or valve seals are bad. My car has been parked for months, dealership wants to charge me a diagnostic fee, I take uber or lyft to work mind you I have an open loan on this car that I’m still paying. I think Mitsubishi used poor quality parts, piston rings don’t go bad at 50,000 miles neither does valve seals. Please help, im paying for a car I cant drive.
This vehicle has been deteriorating since around the 10-15k miles. One of the recalls should have fixed something that was happening to my heater /ac not turning on. I would turn on the vehicle and the fan wouldn't turn on. I had turn off and restart the vehicle. This has happened multiple times. The display panel will turn off randomly while driving. The main problem is my car drifts to side. Really bad. I feel really unsafe in it. I had to pay outside company to see what it was and have them continue to align my tires because it gets so shaky. I can't even attach a hitch to this. The car shifts to the sides really bad, even over the smallest bumps at low mileage. Someone from one of the dealerships told me there was nothing wrong with my tires (I asked them to check it when I went for a recall). I was told the vehicle feels different b/c Mitsubishi motor is now made by Nissan. He thought I was dumb or something. I haven't been able to get this fixed b/c idk what to do. Im not hte car expert. They are. I have to constantly align the wheels but I've pretty much exhausted how many times I can get them aligned. Now apparently my shocks are bad? and Mitsubishi won't sell the shocks to an outside auto repair shop.
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 75 mph the vehicle began to decelerate. The check engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was veered to the side of the road. The vehicle tow to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced due to a cylinder that lost power. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140. 000.
The contact owns a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the battery warning light illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle overheated. An independent mechanic arrived at the scene and informed the contact that the serpentine belt had detached. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred 2 more times. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18v069000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

The engine is shutting off while in traffic and from a full stop on red light. This happened so many times. I had to put on park and start the engine for it to work again.
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact state that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated and then stalled. The contact stated that while accelerating, the vehicle lunged forward then inadvertently increased in speed. The contact was able to stop the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that while shifted in reverse(r), the vehicle rolled forward and failed to reverse. The contact stated that the vehicle randomly shuddered. The transmission service required warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that VIN was previously repaired under the NHTSA campaign number: 16v563000 (power train). The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
While accelerating the gas gage goes up but there is resistance when pressing on gas. The vehicle does not accelerate right away and there is a drag before the vehicle gets up to speed. It takes off really slow.
Engine is affected, vehicle is struggling at low speeds when pressing the gas.
The engine shuts off while at idle for stop lights, stop signs, and on occasion brief stops such as reversing and turning. The battery has been replaced, the alternator has been checked, & the catalytic converter was checked no problems there. However the problem persists with no warning/engine/battery light on. This is a big problem when trying to safely operate the vehicle especially if others are expecting me to go and then the car shuts off.
The contact owns a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated while driving 65 mph the vehicle deaccelerated and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over at a gas station. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the dealer stated that the spark plug was split, and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 81,000.
Vehicle has a permanent engine code poo11 vvt intake.

Won't shift gears, hesitates while driving, won't drive after stopping. Check engine light and transmission service warning light is on.
I’ve changed the battery at least once or twice within the first 2 years of purchasing the vehicle from the dealer with zero miles on it. Lately (in the past 2 months) I’ve changed the battery at least four times or more. Some expensive batteries as well. In the past 2 months, it’s been giving me problems including stalling on me, slowing down on the highway, sometimes won’t start at all, sometimes it’ll say electrical system service required. Once it said four-wheel drive system service required on the highway as it slew down and I had to pull aside. I’ve noticed some recalls on the vehicle via internet research. It may not be specific to my vehicle, but it does seem very familiar problems with my vehicle. Such as electrical system: starter assembly: relay, electronic stability control, electrical system: software and even with the transmission. I’ve towed the vehicle to the Mitsubishi dealer in totowa, NJ today. I was informed that my specific vehicle doesn’t any recalls. Service advisor did say there are other similar vehicles did have those recalls but mine didn’t come up on the recall.

Vehicle has 12,000 miles. I was driving about to take trip and got a warning "engine malfunction power reduced service now. Got to dealership, they think its a software issue. Seriously scared me and it could be software. Awaiting dealership to confirm. Visibility with visors down is extremely limited. Can't drive with visors.
The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph, the transmission overheat message was displayed indicating that the vehicle should be turned off. The contact pulled over and waited for the engine to cool down. While attempting to drive, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The contact also stated that while the vehicle was idling, the engine revved up. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, but it was unknown if the vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
This 2017 Outlander has had issues with the tire rod multiple times. It needed to be fixed approx every three months and the tires needed constant changing as well. This vehicle had a timing chain issue which left me stranded in the middle of the high way. The power stopped, the car started to jerk back and forth and it would power off. We had to get this car towed to three seperate mechanics as no one would work on a Mitsubishi and I was told it was the timing chain with possible engine damage. Prio to all of this happening the radio and electrical system would freeze or automatically turn off and on, it never resolved and blue tooth was rarely able to be used.
The contact owns a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine misfired and the vehicle stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was notified of the failure but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 22v563000 (power train). The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 900.
