My 17-year old son was stopped at a stop sign. He waited until any oncoming cars had passed before he started to move out of the stop. He turned right out of the stop and onto the cross street. After only a few feet, my son notice the front of the vehicle was angled toward the curb & he tried to pull the wheel out of the angle and stepped on the brakes. The steering wheel would not turn at all & the brakes didn't do anything. My son stepped on the brake pedal two more times and the vehicle did not slow down or respond to this. The car went into the front steps of our local police station. Because he had about 40 feet from stop sign to impact, we estimate he had about 2 seconds to respond to this situation & could not have exceeded 10-15mph in that time. Upon impact, the air bag did not deploy. There was minimal property damage to the building, but the car was totaled. The entire front end was pushed in. My son was able to exit the vehicle and luckily did not have any sever injuries. We are writing this complaint because of existing safety recalls to the Mitsubishi Outlander sport for all the years surrounding our 2017 model. These complaints all note engine stalling after complete stops. The engine stalls lead to unresponsive steering wheels, brakes that don't work, and airbags that don't deploy. We want this situation investigated as well.

2011 Mitsubishi Outlander sport se I bought the car on March 7, 2022 from cherry hill auto with the owner by name steven. The car was bought under my cousin denise based at that moment I didn't had a temporary permit. The car was parked technically all the time. It was driven just one mile. Oil change was thick and black, electrical issues, car asking for maintenance, then it shows new issues and didn't turn on. I call steven and explain him the issues and he referred me to a shop he said he has more confidence than the Mitsubishi company in cherry hill. The shop is universal auto repair on cherry hill as well. Car it's been almost a month, catalytic converter and oxygen sensor was stolen. The shop told me to call geico and claim the parts which I know isn't right. I pay almost 12k between car, taxes, all charges and a 36 months penn warranty gold plan with a check. Car has a lot of issues. My cousin open a case with geico and I have to pay $250 deductible for something that occur under their responsibility and in their shop. Is very strange steven said he don't trust in Mitsubishi service when car start having problems and referred me to this mechanic and parts was stolen there. My car still in the shop for almost 2 months. I couldn't even do the inspection because have a lot of issues and car don't qualified base on that. I just want my money back. I bought a car about 5 months ago and I never driven it. If I can have any assistance in spanish I'll appreciate it. Thanks.

Used my e brake and now my rear is grinding. My car just hit 30,000 miles. I’ve put 12,000 on it. Brakes work fine. Only happened after I used e brake.
The car does not accelerate if it goes pastb40 mph the vehicle shakes. Also the battery goes down quickly. Also the oil change does not last as it should. The car has been repaired several times. Also the battery had to within one year. Something drains the battery. I recently had to purchase another battery. Something is draining the battery.

The contact owns a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated while driving 20 mph, the front driver's side a-arm separated from the vehicle and the vehicle stopped abruptly, causing the contact's body to slam against the steering wheel. The contact sustained back pains and received medical assistance. Upon towing the vehicle, the contact noticed that the entire subframe was severally corroded. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where the subframe was replaced. However, the dealer did not replaced other corroded components. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle began to leak fluids after the repair was completed. The contact stated while driving 35-40 mph and making a turn, the brake pedal was depressed but went to the floorboard and failed to respond. The contact engaged the electronic parking brake but it failed to respond. The contact then purposely crashed the passenger's side of the vehicle into the guard rail in order to stop the vehicle. The driver's air bag exploded, propelling burning chemicals that burned the contact's left arm. The contact did not seek medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.

This problem has been reported to the local dealership whom fixed the recall and they are refusing to correct the other problem that is related to the recall. The emergency brake will not release in lower freezing temperatures and or it will release and while driving seize up and stop the rear driver side tire. This causes an instant swaying of the vehicle and could potentially cause vehicle to roll if this happens at higher speeds. So far it has only happened under 35 mph. The dealership claims it’s the cable for the emergency brake that need to be replaced and there is not faulty parts that had been replaced under the recall. On that same wheel that this problem occurs the caliper has been stuck and worn. Down the pad and now is wearing into the rotor. It’s only on one side and everything that was listed under the recall for 2016 models and newer seems to match the problems with this vehicle as well. All the brakes and rotors were replaced a year ago. A tire was replaced after it had seized up and was dragging, wearing down the tire in one spot. I am asking that my vehicle have another inspection by a different facility that would be willing to look further and assist in reporting reconsideration to include the repairs that are needed on this vehicle.

This car is a lemon. First the hood. Finally got that fixed. Then seat belts & fuel injection piece. . . Got fixed. Then a whole piece fell off and was in my driveway. Took it to dealership & was told no way this was from my car because it was from and old lancer that isn't made anymore. Then turned out it was in fact uses on my car. They took awhile but then replaced part. It was something for ac exhaust. Now it's the brake system giving me random mesaages while driving that brake system is out but dealership cant duplicate measage and said my brakes are in "good" shape. What do I do? wait for them to go out & I get into a serious accident? also and rear camera going out when I'm reversing. Dealership couldn't duplicate it and said it was fine. Kept happening, I went back & they finally said Mitsubishi can't figure it out & I just have to wait. Now the collision system is saying it's not functional and to be aware that it's "off. " now I'm nervous the structure of the top of my car is bad since I read that's another recall and the whole car needs to be replaced. I have had nothing but 1 bad thing after another with this car and it's frustrating. Why can these "off the manufacturer line for these 2022 Outlanders" be completely recalled and cars replaced. Many to most of us that bought these cars have children we commute with everyday all day. This isn't safe. Help us all out Mitsubishi! please!.
5/14/2021 vehicle parked on a hill 45 minutes before it began to roll and flipped over. Car was in park and emergency break was engaged during the time of the incident. This is a hazard and could cause great bodily harm or death. I have children and they could have been in the car at the time of the malfunction . The vehicle was inspected by a police officer who confirmed the vehicle emergency break malfunctioned releasing the car down the hill. The car would jump when you breaking, but no warning lights were on before the incident.

The car when speeding it always like crashes since new . When you accelerate it doesn't go right away . Also the brakes get rusted right away so it makes sound. Also the air heater or ac are always working even when its off.
Please update your system to reflect that the following recalls have been fixed. 2015 Outlander sport / rvr - replace (2) electrical power contro (NHTSA #17v609) rear parking brake - 4a models (NHTSA #18v070) front wiper link replacement (NHTSA #18v103) the work was completed at the following dealership charlie's Mitsubishi 495 western avenue augusta, me 04330 service: (207) 213-2702.
When using the brake auto hold I stepped on the gas while scratching my side at the same time to cross the road. I accidentally unbuckled my seat belt which then caused the brake auto hold to disengage and automatically apply the parking brake. This caused my car to stop directly in front of oncoming traffic. I could not disengage the parking brake until I rebuckled my seat belt.
Recall notice on 1/1/2021 on rear brake operating shaft. Inquired several times over past few months. Still the problem has not been taken care of, answer haven't gotten the parts. This is in my recall. if the parking break does not operate properly, it could lead to a vehicle rollaway and increase the risk of a crash. .
The epb (emergency parking break) was some how activated, not sure if by accident or wiring issue and now will not disengage. I cannot drive my vehicle and have not been able to get it into the dealer for 3 weeks.
Within 10,000 miles of owning my new car I noticed it would randomly stall sometimes at the stop light of an intersection. It doesn't take long to start back up. Other times my car struggles to start all together. I'll turn the key 2-3 times before it starts. Several months went by where the issue was no longer present but over the past month it started again. Likely related to the whether now that winter is near. Finally my ebrake has never worked since I bought the car in early 2019 with 21k miles.

Rotars prematurely severely rusted. May be related to the fact that no protection was used for the car against rock salt as indicated in latest safety recall, which only mentioned the front cross members. If protection was not in place this would affect any area of the car that could carrode or rust where exposed.
My vehicle has had over 10 recalls but Mitsubishi has refused to properly fix any of the problems. I will attach a photo of the control arms and certain parts and recalls they cleared, and sent me on my way with. Now there is full suspension damage. Tire damage. And an entire list of other recalls that were never fixed by Mitsubishi. Also airbag light, incorrect gas level. Windshield fluid leaking, and more. My front tire is about to fly off. There are problems with the struts. And no mechanic wants to touch it due to a strut recall and can’t even buy struts anywhere for my car. They have been taken off the market completely. I have a 8 year old child in this car. And both of our lives at risk. I have brought it to several mechanics and they are in shock at the damage and how we have survived. I have had to pay with my own money for certain repairs because Mitsubishi said “everything looks fine” and sent me on my way. And now refuse to open a claim and pay it back. Or fix all the damage it has caused since the first control arm problem. I can get receipts and invoices together. But honestly the entire car is a huge liability and needs an immediate solution!.

I purchased this vehicle on November 19th. It had 32 miles when I pulled off the car lot. In January, new breaks had to be put on it due to wear and loud sound. They were replaced. In February, terrible sound coming from breaks again. Taken to shop, worked on them and advised they just needed to be oiled. Brought back to shop early March, same problem, the whole break system was replaced. Now here is it March 23rd and the same thing is starting to happen again, screetching, loud sound coming from breaks.
Emergency break stuck and alarm sounding. First time ebrake was ever used. Vehicles ebrake was set while parked on a hill. Will not disengage properly.
Brake activated and at a complete stop, then the car started moving from a complete stop while foot is all the way on the brake. Car did not register speed at this time.

I went to work part time to stay mentally healthy as disabled since 1995 I was 35 yr old florsheim executive. I was rear ended& double head-on collision. My car 3 months old 3000 miles on it. Npm guy mgr offered no help in getting me any type of transportation. "I need $1000 down payment to get you into another car. " "extra funds"? mr kahanec. You have treated my people so badly after I did you a favor in financing you . 2nd month I missed having transportation. Now by missing house payment to take care of my health again very physically sick man if not taken care of. . . . . . . I cannot be without a vehicle, I was given 1 car to purchase out of 75 in the lot 4 of which were Outlanders under 15000 under 40,000 miles & less. I asked guy to please keep payments under $350. The contact rented a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. While driving approximately 20 mph with the shifter in drive, the vehicle started to go backwards. When the contact depressed the start button, the vehicle stopped and the brakes engaged. The contact took the vehicle back to enterprise rent-a-car and received another vehicle. The contact did not know if the vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 6,500.
I am a us army veteran and I need your help with the following situation. I bought a Mitsubishi 2018 Outlander sport from the manati cooperative in April 2019(VIN: ja4ap3au0jz018346). This vehicle had a recall since September 14, 2018 and I got it April 2019 with electromechanical defects that cause death driving and are a deadly danger. And now the Mitsubishi does not work and cannot be driven due to the recall. The above should be considered a lemon law case and I need your help with this violation of my constitutional rights. Respectfully, tom a. Rodrigue, us army retired.
I have a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander that has never been in a wreck or anything put the airbag light come on and I have already took it to the dealership and they tired to make me pay for the services it is on all the time when you are driving it and some times the brakes will not work right especially on wet pavement.
Tl the contact owned a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure as listed in NHTSA campaign number: 18v621000 (forward collision avoidance, electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system). While driving 28 mph, the vehicle crashed into a tree. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries, but did not receive medical attention. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,000.
On March 11 th, my Outlander was unable to stop and had minimal traction in about a quarter of an inch of snow causing my vehicle to hit a tree head on. I was driving under 30 miles an hour when the accident occurred. After hitting the tree, the steering wheel began to smoke. I was able to exit the vehicle and turned around to see the airbag only partially deployed. From there, my vehicle was declared a total loss. Now, after requesting my insurance company to demand a safety inspection from the Mitsubishi dealership to no avail, I've contacted Mitsubishi corporate and gave them my accident report with high concern in regards to the recall #18v621. I have offered to tow my Outlander to the dealership and they have responded to my concern by refusing to evaluate and inspect this vehicle. When I last spoke to my case manager at Mitsubishi corporate, she let me know there is nothing they will do. I have called the nashua nh dealership to make an appointment for safety inspection of this recall and they have refused to have the service department investigate. Today, I have been told upon towing my vehicle there that they refused delivery of the Outlander. I have not agreed to the settlement offered by my insurance and continue to seek means of having this vehicle inspected for the recall which I'm certain caused my accident. Corporate did state that if I subrogate than they may be able to diagnose my defective vehicle. As of today, I'm in the process of gathering documents.
After my abs, tcs, and check engine lights came on, I started to research what my problem was. Come to find out the abs pump motor is getting low voltage resulting in poor braking and overall driveability in any weather. In my research I found that this is a very common problem with many Mitsubishi's around this year. I was completely fine with replacing the parts because the car isn't safe for my children, but when looking into the cost of replacement of such a small part, I (along with many other people) can not afford to spend ~$2000 to make our cars safe. If this has truly been a problem for so long why hasn't Mitsubishi handled it yet. Until I can find a cheap replacement or if Mitsubishi cares about their customers safety, I will be driving my 2010 Outlander with no abs or traction control. Which is very unsafe.
