1 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2020

What is the deal with this engine? this car has less that 120k miles. It seems I get a lot of interference when I'm driving it. The car will randomly force speed causing me to swerve on the highway. When my phone is plugged in it seems to misfire and check engine lights come on. H2o sensors come on, cache files about the fuel system lands on my phone. Samsung has submitted tests on my spen that are affecting my safety. Fcc id a3lejpn970 fcc id a3lsmn970u. I have had several car accidents since buying samsung phones. The cars will increase speed as if I am ready to run into a brick wall. This car doesn't have a lot of mileage but something is going on with the timing and engine. I can be in motion or stationary, it is constantly affecting the fuel system.

2 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/19/2018

I own a 2005 Nissan. I rely on my car daily to get to medical appointments. The car stalls in park all lights start blinking then dies. Has happened while driving as well the car will move but you cant accelerate on the pedal this happened in a traffic circle my fiance and two friends were with me at the time. This is very dangerous I could get into a bad accident and die or even kill my passengers. I have had a mechanic reset my ecm but this keeps happening I have tried to fix the problem on my own and have had no luck. I own a 2005 Nissan Altima 3. 5se v6 four door sedan and I feel unsafe driving. Something needs to be done I was hoping my experience would be awesome ive always liked the cars now honestly im scared to drive in it and wont reccomend anyone getting one. I havent had any accident or anything. Me having this car is required medically. Also check engine light came on one day stayed on for a month then just shut off so now I have no clue whats going on with my car.

5 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2015

So besides the fact that my floor board on my drivers side has a huge hole in it, the crankshaft position sensor has cause me enough problems to where I believe Nissan should be responsible for fixing this issue. The vehicle idles rough, when accelerating it feels like the car is about to shut off, and the check engine light will not go off no matter how many times you change the sensor. I've had mine changed four times. I am actually sick of this vehicle now and will never buy another Nissan. To make it worse I can't take the car out of town because it will get hot then the clutch sticks to the floor. I have to lift it with my foot and it still won't engage, it loses all pressure. So driving long distance is out of the question. Someone needs to fix this before there is an accident. I almost got hit because I couldn't get my car to go into third gear. When I do get in an accident I will sue Nissan and anybody else who knew about these problems with this car and sat back and did nothing.

8 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2013

I have a 2005 Altima and I have been having problems. I repalced the senors based on the diagnostic reading from two reputable repair shops. My check engine light keeps coming back on. I googled and found out that several Altima owners have experienced the exact same problem. I called Nissan and was told based on my VIN #, I'm not part of the recall. That makes no sense. The dealer wants to charge me an arm and a leg and will only do it for free if Nissan says so. I'm so frustrated right now. I will never buy another Nissan.

14 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/30/2012

My car would not start normally. Immediately the check engine light turned on. Had a code with a failed crankshaft sensor. Nissan was informed and rudely refused to help with the replacement even though it had a recall on it. Said my VIN number was not included. Seems like nobody's VIN # was included in this recall. This is a safety hazard. I replaced the sensor but it cost me $170. 00 for something that Nissan should have happily handled. Never buy a Nissan. My floorboard on the passenger side is also completely rusted out. There is a hole in my floorboard. Same story page after page of complaints can been seen online with this problem. Car has been serviced at uftring Nissan in peoria, illinois and not once did anyone bring my attention to the fact that this car had rusted all the way through from the inside out. Nissan refuses to handle this issue either.

18 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2011

My check engine light and airbag light came on last Monday, August 22, 2011. I was driving to work the next morning and had my cruise control set. After I went over a small hill, it felt like my car tried to downshift. As it did, it died. This was at 7:30 in the morning when traffic was high. I had cars all around me when the car died. I was almost hit. I was scared to death because I could?ve been killed or killed someone else. The brakes got tight as they do when you pump up brakes and the car isn?t running so I had no control of them either. Took my car to local mechanic he replaced crank and cam sensors. When this did not repair the issue, he suggested I take it to nearest Nissan mechanic. After trying nourse in chillicothe who was absolutely rude and absurd, I took it to taylor in athens, ohio. They put a factory crank and cam sensor on and this did not resolve problem. They decided that the ecm is bad in the car. I have paid for this car to be towed twice, paid for cam and crank sensors twice, talked to Nissan, who was absolutely no help and rude. The man hung up on my husband when he asked to speak to someone else so he could understand what they were saying. Have to drive another 100 miles round trip to take other set of keys to dealer and is going to be atleast Friday before they get the parts in. So it will be almost 2 weeks that I am without a car. As it stands, my bill is now $1311. 51. There was a recall on this exact part and did the exact same things as listed on recall. I bought this car used. This part was replaced in 2009 and are no ?outstanding campaigns? for my model car. I think this is completely unacceptable. I don?t care if the part is replaced 15 times, if it?s faulty, it?s faulty. I have dealt with the rude customer service of Nissan that you can't even understand, rude shop managers at Nissan dealerships, and I do not feel that I should have to pay for all of this. I feel that Nissan is still accountable for this issue.

21 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2010

My 2005 Nissan Altima has the same problem with the crankshaft position sensor. My car is not on the recall list. I was just wondering why my car is not on the recall list? is Nissan waiting for an accident to happen first? I went out today to start my car and now it won't start at all. My check engine light came on and it was reading the troubleshooting # p0335 which is the crankshaft sensor. I spoke to a Nissan rep. Yesterday and she refused to help me out if did not go to a Nissan dealer to have my car checked by them. Sorry, I don't have that kind of money. There are places that do it for nothing now. I think you should look into this problem. I do fear driving my car now. Please look into this problem for all of the Nissan owners.

Contacted a Nissan dealership to take car in for recall on 28 sept. The car stalled several times before getting it in for the recall. My check engine light came on my way to the dealership and when I left the vehicle for repair under the recall they call to indicate that the check engine light indicate that there was a problem with the crankshaft position sensor and it will have to be repaired before the recall could be done. Was charged $288. 00 to replace the sensor. Having problem understanding that the recall was for the sensor overheating that interrupt signal output from the sensor and the reset the electronic control module at no cost but not replace the sensor without charging me. The sensor is overheating cause the vehicle to stall why not replace the sensor before resetting the ecm.

I have a 2005 Nissan Altima 2. 5l. The engine light is just on. I read the code and it shows it is a problem of my crankshaft position sensor. I check it online, and find there is a recall for this problem on 2007 (the campaign number is 07v527000). So I contacted Nissan company, and provided my VIN#. But they reply that my VIN# doesn't match the recall list. 27 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2010

I have a 2005 Nissan Altima. On my way back home on the highway, my check engine light came on. I took it to the dealership to get it checked out. They said my crank sensor is faulty. Now this was a common problem for 2002-03 Altimas, but the 2004-2006 Altimas are known to have this problems. I have been reading reports on consumeraffairs. Com and it seems like every owner of a 2002-2006 Nissan Altima is having this problem. Nissan is aware of this problem but refuses to do anything about it (according to other consumers that complained to Nissan). As a consequence of this failure, the car can stop in motion. Several of the consumers had their cars stop on the highway which can be fatal. The only symptoms are jerking and shaking of the car followed by stalling. The repair costs around $250, but it is not a guranteed fix. Many consumers had them happen numerous times, and had to fix them with their own money every time. I hope NHTSA takes proper action against Nissan and force them to acknowledge their mistake and issue a recall. Thank you.

28 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2010

While driving the vehicle the check engine light came on. Shortly after that the car died. I pulled off the side of the road and after several attempts was able to restart the car. The check engine light has come on in the past and after having the computer cleared the problem goes away. This is the first time that car died on me while driving. The problem usually occurs when I shift from park to drive before the rpms drop below 1000.

29 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/07/2009

We have 2005 Nissan Altima with the 2. 5 motor, cars engine light came on and we took it to our mechanic and he said it was the crankshaft sensor, and told me about the recall. I took my car to the nearest Nissan dealer, and all they told me there was a recall on the ecm, and that was all. , nothing about the crankshaft sensor. I told them about it and they said my car was not under that recall. How can that be when there is a recall for that year, that model, and that motor. I even called a Nissan rep; and he told me the same thing. I had to had to have my car that weekend so I took it back to my mechanic and he replaced the sensor and we haven't had any problems since. I think I got !@#$% by Nissan.

32 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2009

Our car is 2. 5l engine, caused suddenly a problem with ignition failures on one day. While driving my vehicle the check engine light came on. Shortly after that car died. I pulled off the road and after several attempts was able to restart the car. And we have taken it to repair facility who has clearly gave written statement it is the problem with crankshaft position sensor. [ code p0335 -crankshaft position sensor circuit] even there was recall with NHTSA campaign id number: 07v527000. Nissan rejected my reimbursement request stating my VIN is not part of that recall. I had same symptoms what was written in NHTSA campaign id. Contacted Nissan 800-647-7261 but of no use.

33 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2009

My wife was driving on the interstate when the car sputtered almost stalling. The check engine light appeared and stayed on. I took the car to a car parts store and borrowed their computer diagnosis device and found out the crankshaft sensor malfunctioned. There has been a recall on the esm, but nothing going to the root of the problem (the crankshaft sensor). Through my research I found the problems attributed to this part are not starting, sputtering while driving and/or shutting-off while driving. I took the car to Nissan on two previous occasions for not starting, but no diagnosis could be attained by Nissan. After speaking with different local Nissan dealer, the service tech admitted the problem is the crankshaft sensor failing. I feel Nissan is putting a band-aid on the real problem disguising it with the esm reprogram. The failure of this part can be very dangerous if you are driving and the car shuts off. After doing some research on forums, there have been a lot of complaints and apparently Nissan has had this problem with the Altima as far back as the '03 model year. It was also stated on the forums that multiple sensors have been replaced over and over. I am now worried about myself and my young child's safety as this car is our main source of transportation.

34 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/25/2009

Nissan Altima 2005. The vehicle had stalled a few times in the past under slow speeds. Ie backing up or drifting forward. Noticed that the check engine light came on and brought it into a service station. Code was crankshaft position sensor. Part was really pricey so I checked online and found recall, or so I thought. Nhtsa campaign id number: 07v527000, seemed to apply to the problem. Nissan said no it did not. Would like to file complaint about not only the problem, but also the lack of support in a clearly recalled item repair. I do not have the VIN's affected, but the fact that almost 700,000 vehicles are affected and mine just happens to have the same issue is ridiculous. I would just like my car covered like the other 700,000 that have the same issue. Thanks, tim.

35 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2009

Crankshaft position sensor - the vehicle would have a delay in starting, sometimes would not start at all. Also, the engine would shut off while driving at a low speed or stopped. Check engine light came on. Did internet research. Found other owners of Nissan Altima's had the same problems. Brought the car to Nissan dealer was told they had alot of complaints about the crankshaft position sensor going bad. Had it replaced, the car works fine now. Nissan needs to recall this part. When the car shuts off while driving, you loose all power! power steering, brakes, etc. It's an accident waiting to happen.
