Car engine cuts off. After that I have no power steering, no acceleration, brakes need to be pumped. The first years of me owning the car I had the sensors replaced by auto shop and dealership under extended car warranty. Pretty much been replacing the sensors ever since for the past 8 years. I believe I replaced over 10 sensors of the time I owned my Nissan. I can be on the hallway, streets anywhere with out any warnings my car engine will stop. It has to do with turning back on the car while it's warm. That's when I seen the problem the most.
The engine has a hole in it and I bought the car without knowing the engine had a whole in it and I asked the dealer mark brown where there any major damages he said no. Also my car smoked while I was driving and I could have majorly endangered my life without knowing.

The engine began to stall out randomly when driving down the road. After two times the engine light came on it stated that the crankshaft sensor was off. Since then, the engine light turned off bu, the problem still persists. When driving at low speeds through a city area, will cut off randomly. I have contacted Nissan regarding their recall about this exact problem of the crankshaft causing the engine to cut off but was simply told that my VIN number does not qualify under the recall even though it is exactly what the recall is for. Was also told that even if I were to get it inspected and checked for the problem that I would not be covered under the recall because they considered it "wear and tear. " the car is only at 110000 miles and has this extremely dangerous problem, but Nissan refuses to help fix their mistake.

Nissan Altima 2005 2. 5 engine will turn over but not start. Replaced cam and crank sensors, fuel pump, plugs, valve cover. When it does start you have turn push accelerator 2/3down and crank for over 15 seconds. Sometime start, maybe not. Also gas could plugs after sitting for while.
Engine is having issues after having crank shaft position sensor and cam sensor replaced. The part that's having issues has been recalled.
I have had two Altimas and on both the heads consistently goes out on them.
Looses momentum occasionally when driving down the road. In the last 2weeks it started. Vehicle has always been fine. Recently it just dies as your driving.
Been having trouble with timing chain. Recently replaced it 2/6/2013 and I was just told that it went out again. Very frustrating cause it's not cheap to fix.
2005 Nissan Altima1n4al11d. . . Slow to accelerate after a turn or from a full stop. Slow to accelerate when speedometer goes to zero during drive time. Vehicle speeds up even when brake applied causing jerking motion.
Nissan used parts in the timing chain system which prematurely fail and will not cover the repair after warranty. The issue was not able to be discovered until it had already failed and in this case, is not a repair the owner can perform on their own. Certain mechanics have even chose not to perform this repair and the ones which are able to, charge in the $2000+ range. When contacting Nissan about this issue, they were aware of this problem but had said it would have to have been repaired while under warranty. Once the timing is effected, the engine and drive train seem to have dropped in performance in which I have very sluggish acceleration and cannot ready speeds over 30 mph. There is no way I was able to even check if the timing chain system had signs of going bad, and if there was a recall, this issue could have been avoided for myself and others. This faulty system creates an unsafe, unreliable machine which Nissan should take full responsibility.
I have spent over $2,000. 00 in repairs during the past month. I brought my car to george harte Nissan in west haven, charged $711. 00 problem not fixed. Car is buring oil, hard to start and this is the 2nd catalotor conventor I put in the car.
The engine may stop running without warning while the vehicle is driven at a low speed increasing the risk of a crash.
Takata recall my 2005 Nissan Altima 2. 5s shuts off while driving. I almost got into an accident on a city street. . .
When I am at a light my car just turns off.
As I was turning on a main road, car was in drive, started to turn right, gave little gas, car died immediately. No sputtering, just stopped. The person behind almost hit me.
Front sub-fame severely rusted out, which supports engine and control arms, must be replaced. Safety is compromised.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Altima. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle suddenly shut off. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who indicated that the crank shaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was not available.
Takata recall. I bought my car exactly 11 months ago on February 2015. I first noticed when I bought my car that it jerked when putting it in drive and reverse, I talked to the dealership and the salesman convinced me it is nothing. It got worse over time. I finally took the car to a transmission shop who said motor mounts need replacing. I then found a Nissan thread about the defective transmission and automatically was able to see that my car is doing 90% of the issues listed. It now jerks when I put in drive, reverse, when I'm coming to a stop, when I push the break, and when I exceed more then 60 mph it jerks. After reading tons of threads about this problem it seems to be very common amongst the Nissan Altima 05s. I am scared my transmission will go out and I don't know what to do, I was told this problem was nothing but now it definitely seems like an issue that Nissan judged pushed under the rug and kept telling me was nothing.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the crank cam shaft sensor needed to be replaced and the computer needed to be reprogrammed. No further information was available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 152,610.
Vehicle died while coasting down the side street. Once I stopped the vehicle I put it in park and turned the key to off. When trying to restart the vehicle, the engine would crack, but would not start. This problem has been listed for a recall for the 2. 5 engine but not for my 3. 5 engine, and Nissan will not do anything to help the situation.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the front floorboards on both the driver and passenger sides were rusted through. The contact stated that the vehicle also had a fractured engine mount. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 104,000.
Vehicle engine stops. Nissan will only fix part of the cause. Expects clients to fix the actual sensor. Wouldn't recommend another Nissan.
My wife was driving the car at 25 mph and the car lost all speed as if the brakes were implied and almost caused a three car pile up. Now the car is stuck in 5th gear. I am really worried because my 2 year old daughter was in the car at the time. I have done research online and this is a major problem.
During other service work mechanic found the engine cradle is rotting away.
The transmission is stuck in 5th gear, even if you try to downshift it manually it wouldn't come out of 5th gear.
Driving to work. . . At 25 mph . . . . The engine came on . . . . . Along with the oil light. . . . And all of the light on the dashboard. . . . And then the car came to a complete stop I the middle of street. There were five cars behind that had to swerve to avoid hitting my car.

When restarting my car when driving for a while. I restart my car and it hesitate to crank over the engine shakes like it misfiring. Engine service light turns on and engine crawls to a halt and turns off. I took it to meineke they said it was a bad cam sensor cost me 130 to replace and engine worked fine for 4 months. Same problem again took it's to Nissan of manhattan they said the computer needed to be reprogrammed. Worked for about 4 more months now looks like I'm going to need the crank sensor replaced again. There a recall on my model car but not my VIN number.
