Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle would decelerated from 15 to 20 mph, then stalled without warning. The contact stated that he shifted to natural and restart the vehicle and was able to drive normal to his residence. The contact stated that when the shifter in drive, the vehicle would stalled, the transmission would make a noise and when the vehicle warm up it would stalled. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnose testing. The manufacturer was not make aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 106,000. Aw.

I was driving on the highway, the car started making a strange noise, shifting hard and the check engine light came on. . . I decided to leave the highway as the car was losing speed. At the first light, the car stalled in the middle of the road. . . The trouble is that I did not realize until the light turned green and cars in from of me started moving and I couldn't almost got hit from behind by incoming cars. Ended up moving slowly to the side. Got the car towed to a Nissan dealer that advised that it a cvt failure. My car has 83k miles, Nissan is not willing to help.

3 Noises During Shifting problem

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. While driving various speeds, there was an abnormal noise coming from the transmission and the gear shifter failed to shift out of position. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the road shoulder. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the linkage that traveled to the the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to coast the vehicle to the right lane. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was a major transmission failure. The vehicle was taken to fenton Nissan west (8800 n w expressway, oklahoma city, ok, 73162) where it was diagnosed that there was a recall on the transmission computer software. The software was updated and the transmission fluid was changed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to fenton Nissan west where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not under a recall and there was nothing done to extend the warranty. The manufacturer also stated that there was a lawsuit that was still in litigation and they would call the contact when it settled. The failure mileage was 69,500.

4 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2015

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. While driving approximately 30 mph, the transmission shifted from drive into the neutral position independently and an abnormal noise emitted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the mechanic was unable to duplicate or locate the failure. The contact experienced multiple unrelated failures with the vehicle that included the exterior door failing to unlock or lock with the key fob until after several attempts. A burning odor emitted from the air vents when the air conditioner or heater was activated. There were no flames present. Also, the brakes squeaked intermittently when depressed. The contact stated there was concern regarding a potential health hazard with the push button starter causing cancer. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 10,600.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact was driving approximately 45 mph when the vehicle down shifted automatically. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle would jolt forward and exhibit an abnormal banging noise when the air conditioner was activated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer.
