1 Front Suspension problem of the 2010 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 10/01/2010

As car accelerates to 20 mph, there is a loud rattling noise coming from the passenger side engine compartment/undercarriage area. Noise was noticed the first week of purchase. The car now has 7,500 miles on it. When it was taken in to the dealer, the lead tech had me ride with him to duplicate the noise--it happened. He then took me for a ride in a new model on the lot and it seemed to produce the same noise. He ended the ride and did not take the vehicle in for inspection. He told me I was the 4th person to come in with the same complaint. He stated it was the abs completing a self check cycle. . . Which just happens to be very noisy. This is very hard to accept on a newly purchased vehicle. It's very embarrassing.

3 Front Suspension problem of the 2010 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 03/16/2010

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Altima. While traveling at speeds of 60 mph, the vehicle began abruptly veering to the right without driver intent. The contact attempted to maintain control of the vehicle; however; the steering wheel became hard and resistant to driver input. The contact was unable to move the steering in either direction. The vehicle then spun out of control and proceeded to crash into a cement wall. The air bags did not deploy on impact. The police arrived and a report was filed at the scene accordingly. The driver suffered from minor injuries. The vehicle was towed to a local repair shop. She was advised that the front suspension and tires were damaged. There were no repairs made to the vehicle. The contact inquired about a recall campaign on the suspension but upon contacting the manufacturer, was informed that his VIN was not included in the campaign (NHTSA campaign id number 09v358000: suspension). The approximate failure and current mileages were 2,800.

4 Front Suspension problem of the 2003 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 10/11/2009

I bought a Nissan 2003 Altima 2. 5s from drive time on 10-09-2009 , and as soon as I began to drive the cars I started to feel and hear a vibration and loud knocking sound coming from the front left tire. I took the car to a mechanic and was told that the problem is the front strut mount kit that is rattling and make loud bang which make the front left tier shack violently as if it was going to come off the car. This happens every time I drive on even roads or bumpy roads. The remedy is to replace the strut mount kit completely the cost with labor is $360. 00. I just bought this car from drive time and they refuse to fix the part. They say that it's not a safety issue, but I as the drive feel it is, when the tire feel like it's about to come of the car. As of yet there has not been any accidents, but I feel that if not corrected this may lead to a crash and or a fatality.

Failure Date: 11/30/2006

: the contact stated when driving 40 mph, the steering wheel pulled to the right. When taken to the service dealer, the tires were rotated and balanced. Also, the front end was aligned. The steering problem continued, but pulled to the left and was more difficult to control. The vehicle was then taken to the sales dealer. All tires were replaced and balanced, and the alignment was inspected. The sales dealer informed the contact the problem had to do with the wrong sized tires that were mounted on the vehicle, although the tires were mounted on the vehicle by the sales dealer, when the contact purchased the vehicle. The problem continued to pull to the right. When the vehicle was driven at 60 mph, the steering wheel locked up, then by giggling the steering wheel to the left and right, the steering unlocked and pulled to the right. 12 Front Suspension problem of the 2002 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 06/20/2002

I purchased my 2002 Nissan Altima s 2. 5 in Nov. 2001. 1) after a few months, I noticed a shimming or vibration coming from the steering. It feels as if were coming up from the front tires through the suspension. However, though it is usually present, sometimes it doesn't vibrate for a while, then it starts again! I have changed the tires (though used the same brand), had the tires balanced, rotated and the wheels aligned, yet the vibration continues. In addition, at the last alignment, the mechanic had problems aligning the rear suspension in particular. The car has also shown abnormal tire wear. I have also checked the consumer's comments section of edmunds. Com, a car-based website, and a number of people have noted this vibration in the steering.

17 Front Suspension problem of the 2000 Nissan Altima

There is a loud noise/rattle in the front end of the car when you hit bump. Not major pothole, just bumps in the road. I have expressed this concern to the dealer and they say it is the wheel covers. They say nothing is wrong.
